The Manor Estate reviews
73Peter was an absolute treasure and one of the best wine tasting hosts I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. His knowledge and education was second to none and literally every wine we tasted (about 7) was amazingly delicious. 8 of us ended up buying 14 bottles to take home in total. Will definitely be a regular visit from now on and the scenery and venue itself is absolutely stunning
Peter showed us around, we even saw the local bandicoots. The must try is the sparkling Shiraz, I took a bottle home! Dog friendly venue.
We attended the Secret Garden Wine Tasting event. It was terrible, it took 90 mins of waiting before we got to the wine tasting, The tiny food samples were also slow to arrive. We didnt see any secret garden, just some building materials in the yard next to the seating area. What they should have done is, do the wine taste blurb to the whole room at the same time, then pour a taste & food sample to match each wine around to each table.perhaps then the banter between punters tasting could have made it more fun. The wine was average the food was inadequate. We were disappointed.
A great afternoon spent in welcoming rustic garden setting with a great host and helpful attentive staff.
The range of wines were unique and well presented and fitted the occasion perfectly.
It’s a hidden gem and a magical escape with the bonus of a couple cheeky little bandicoots.
Magnificent experience with Hosts Peter and Hiro taking us through a wonderful journey of their wine tastings. Absolutely loved our chessboard platter! Would definitely recommend this if you’re in mclaren vale area
Genuine friendly service, cute atmosphere and of course the wine was Loved the 80’s Aussie Rock too!
It was a amazing!
An awesome experience to stay here. Excellent Wine, very comfortable and clean room, very relaxing environment and also very good service from Peter.thank you!
Manor Estate has the "Secret Wine Garden" Sunday afternoon events and they are just awesome.you come along relax in the gardens enjoy great company great wine and music the occasional nibbles.we topped if off and stayed the night! No brainer!
I stay at Manor Estate a couple of times a year, it’s a great get away from the busy city life and very relaxing, for wine lovers there’s a great wine tasting cellar room with plenty of variety. I recommend Shiraz Special Vintage 2019. It’s a very good wine. Very nice easy drinking Shiraz. I am a fan of Shiraz, couldn’t be happier with this bottle. There are plenty more wine from the estate. I am very happy with service and Peter is an expert of wine.
Useless place useless staff, and by staff I mean one person who doesn't help, and one who is to afraid to help, and said no to everything we asked.
We just had our wedding there and we had to set everything up ourselves, and we were charged for things that in the contract he said to be complimentary, but he took our card and charged things with out checking anything over with us first. Peter was beyond unprofessional and told too many lies to count. He made this place sound like a perfect little paradise, but in reality it was an old worn down dump with no maintenance and rooms with a strong smell of mold, which looked like it had just been painted over. Animals are in terrible condition, and in cages way too small.
We were told the place was to ourselves if we booked for the wedding then tried to charge us for empty rooms we didn't fill, complaining that he could have rented them out if he knew we weren't using them all.
He lied about how many rooms he had, saying he couldn't show us as they were being cleaned, so my own mother couldn't stay with us the night of the wedding as we already promised the other rooms to the bridal party.
He lied about building a whole indoor function, so when we had our wedding on November 12th 2022, it was the worst weather in years and without that function room we were promised, the whole day was us trying to salvage what we could with zero help from Peter what so ever.
Deliveries were dropped off for things we ordered and we had to go there and take them ourselves as he was never at the estate, and the driver just thought we were the staff. We live 40 minutes away so that was just a pain.
Peter never answered the phone or retuned calls and charged us for our stay on our wedding night when in the contract it says the couple stay free the night of their wedding.
Don't do it.
This was an amazing place to celebrate our daughters wedding. Everything was just perfect thank you to Peter the owner. We can't thank Peter enough for his hospitality, easy planning and just helping with everything. Not too forget hero who was the friendliest caring waiter ever. The best wine, accommodation, gorgeous views and stunning venue. A place to never forget. Thank you for making again a memorable wedding.
If I could give this venue 0 stars I would. My partner and I had our wedding at this venue. Just don't do it. Don't stay there don't look at the place. It's awful. The owner (the most incompetent man on earth) makes the place look reasonable but in reality once you spend 20 minutes at the venue you'll realise it's all a lie and the place holds black mold and live wires which is the least of your worries with this venue.
Save your money and time this place is all show with broken features everywhere and the owner is a crook.
Don't. Do. It.
Stopped for a quick tasting. Very impressed with service and purchased a few wines including an aged cabernet. Lovely grounds.
Very very poorly run. We do feel sorry for people unable to maintain their property but this property is seriously misrepresented on the website. We cannot in good conscience allow people to continue to spend money on staying here.there was so much rubbish and clutter all over the property - gardens not maintained - it looked like a junk-yard! We got "upgraded" to stay in the Spa Chalet suite and we found out this was due to the owner going on a road trip that morning, so not being on-site to address any issues. The major one being that the water pump was not working - so we had no water to the chalet! This means no spa, no toilet and no sink water. We found this out at 6: 00pm on a Saturday night after we woke from our afternoon nap after checking in and on calling Peter, he apologised and said "I'm sorry, looks like you'll have to stay at the pub". Talk about putting a damper on what was supposed to be a romantic night's stay. In addition, we paid him over $300 for a wine tour which he cancelled the friday night before - offering a full refund but leaving us without our activity booked as we had planned. We had to chase and chase the refunds from him - finally getting them well over a week after the disastrous stay. In addition - the condition of the chalet was woeful. No heating in the lounge room - so you have to have the reverse-cycle on in the bedroom. Spa was grimy and water leaking out of toilet. Just a disappointment all round - when it was something that we had really looked forward to.
Celebrated my 40th up here for a weekend in November and had the time of our lives! First night enjoyed an intimate gathering and second night hosted a party for approximately 50 guests in the secret wine garden. Peter and Hiro were so accommodating and helpful, and ever present when required. The house and gardens were absolutely stunning in the spring sunshine.
Hands down the best place iv stayed in the mclaren vale wine region! The service was incredible and the wines are next level. Can’t wait to come back! Peter and Hiro you guys made our weekend. If I could give more stars I would! ️
It was a nice place however the spa Charlotte suit I stayed at didn't smell very good, the vent in the bathroom wasn't working so the whole room just fugged up after using the spa, had to keep the lounge window open overnight for fresh air and ventilation, another thing was that the Wi-Fi wouldn't connect, the bathroom needed to be grouted and there was spider webs around the place with tiny spiders that had just hatched near the board game which ended up crawling all over me.sorry to say but I was a bit disappointed there was lots of junk in the yard too that needed to be gotten rid of to give it a better pleasant view. Thanks
What a wonderful weekend! Totally satisfied with a delicious wine in a lovely luxury suite in beautiful nature!
The owner- Peter, explained the wine and let us try the sparkling Shiraz & BRUT, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Rosé, all of which were beautiful and delicious. Visitors to the outskirts of Adelaide, please check up this Manor Estate, you will have a great experience. I definitely recommend it. Thank you once again, Peter, will definitely come back soon.
A fantastic place to visit, the staff are very friendly and they’ll take care of everyone! I couldn’t recommended them more
It was a very nice and relaxing afternoon here, the wine very sophisticated and the entertainment was very enjoyable.
