The Little Hunter

Tucked away between Hindley Street and North Terrace, a great venue full of rustic charm.

It was a sunny day at the time we visited, so opted to sit outside under the iron-roofed verandah.

Taylah, our server, was delightful and attentive. We appreciated her thoughtful inquiry about delaying the mains after the entrees, what a refreshing departure from rushed dining experiences.

Both the eye fillet and sirloin steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection and delicious.

In comparison to The Meat & Wine Company, The Little Hunter may not be quite as intimate or upscale in appearance, but offers much better overall value for pretty comparable meals.

Do yourself a favour and check this place out.

First time in Adelaide, and this place showed me an excellent option to get a good wagyu rum, a sirloin steak, or a juice fillet mignon, but the most important thing is the service and attention, atmosphere here is unique. The people are so kind and always friendly, I had the chance to meet a nice person in the kitchen, Valentina, she's soooo gorgeous girl, she makes us happier with the dishes, if you're visiting Adelaide this place definitely have to be in your list to get a nice steak.

Awesome food but non existing customer service. At least train the young girls to make an effort of interest in serving your customers or get rid of them. Good food will only keep people coming back for so long, good customer service will keep them coming back permanently!

Fantastic bar restaurant! I thoughtfully the steaks would have been more expensive, but I was pleasantly surprised at the cost! Fantastic service and great selection of beers! Will definitely come back

Food serviceable. Service unbelievably bad. 1st drink order completely forgotten. 2nd and 3rd drinks orders had to waive staff down to order and then had to be chased up. Cop this - 95% of service staff were sitting eating KFC in the beer garden and vaping whilst we and other patrons were still in the restaurant waiting for drinks, waiting for plates to be cleared and for dessert orders to be taken. Wheely bins being dragged through restaurant whilst we were eating dessert. This was 9pm on a Sat night. The manager's reasoning was "they were on a break", the staff who weren't should have served you. Total cop out. Toilets filthy. Never again.

Thankyou so much for our amazing experience at the Little Hunter tonight. The experience exceeded our highest expectations. Our sevier Bronty gave us the best recommendation of wine and really made our night so special. The food was incredible, desert devine, could not have asked for more. We are both very proud hospitality professionals and having service with such knowledge, love and grace was impecable - 10/10 would recommend to anyone coming to Adelaide immediately!

Every dish was obviously prepared with care and was delicious.
Food was quite reasonable for a specialty steakhouse.
The Little Hunter is housed in a fantastic old building and the interior was warm and inviting.
Service was very warm and attentive.
Only con - peak times, parking may be challenging but Little Hinter is incredibly accessible by public transport.

I found it a nice venue, quality for price was not there. 4 of us ordered mixed kebab plate meat was fatty some pieces over cooked, mash was sloppy and a bit grainy. Overall would not recommend.

Went here for a special occasion. Our steaks were grisly and not tasty at all. Where were seated there were overhead fans that were covered in dust and cobwebs.thank goodness it was cold because we may have had extra seasoning flying on to our plate. The overall place was not clean, the bathroom was somewhere I wouldn't like to visit twice.

What a great find! Tucked in a side street, we accidentally stumbled on it, but we are so glad we did. If you are looking for a great steak at a reasonable price (we all know how expensive red meat is these days), then look no further. Delicious and great value for money. And they have a wood fire

Will not have a group function here ever again. Previous years service has been fantastic but sadly this festive season the whole experience was really poor. Firstly we could not get the verandah area we booked, hence a couple of people came down with covid after sitting inside. Food was good and arrived on time. Drinks service - terrible, was lacking in timing and accuracy. We had to go to the bar a number of times to find out where our drinks were. After spending a lot of money with this restaurant we were completely disappointed and wont return.
Everything from the start of the booking to the end of the night seemed difficult and I have also questioned the bill and had no response. Poor communication and service.

It's got a rustic vibe to it. Great atmosphere, relaxing and warm with the fire pit. The Kilpatrick oysters were not what it seemed, was thinking more of a cheesey baked goodness, but the oysters were still bit raw and fishy, and there was no cheese. The mock tails were not bad, quite fruity with a lot of pineapple juice flavour in the watermelon mocktail. Beef ribs were the highlight of the night. So tender and juicy, saucey and delicious, mashed potatoes went so well with it. The sirloin steak was also tender and juicy. Would've liked more mushroom sauce with it. Chips were OK, not very crispy.

Big portion size. You might think twice if you want entreè the mains are could make you satiety. Slow cooked rib has full bodied flavors. Meat skewer is with charcoal taste and has smokiness. I hope that they change the photo in the menu because they don't offer bone marrow and I went there for the bone marrow. Drink was served fast but the food took awhile.

I highly recommend going to another, steakhouse. I came to little hunter for dinner for a special occasion (my fathers birthday). I made some minor changes via email to change the booking from 7 to 9 people. However, little was I aware that our table would be split and separated without any notice.

This pretty much ruined the whole experience as we were expecting to sit together as a family to celebrate his birthday.

When I approached front end staff, I spoke with a lady named Bronty, and she claimed to have called me via phone to notify of me the change. I brought up my call log to show her that I never received a phone call nor an email from them, and on multiple occasions she told me I was lying and I had deleted my call log. I found that to be quite absurd, on top of that she was being really rude and disrespectful towards me.

As a paying customer you should be made to feel welcomed. However, that wasn’t the case.

39th Wedding Anniversary and i left it late to book in but called in to chance my luck, the staff were very accommodating and made every effort to get a table for us.
Will say that it was Saturday night and massively busy but starters & drinks came out pretty quickly, a bit of a delay for the main course but given we didn't book and the place was packed we were both very pleased to have called in.
Food was, as usual, superb, staff polite & courteous at all times dessert was... Missed as we were totally full.
Love this place, will be back!

500g sirloin with a Prancing Pony 60 ibu red ale, perfect combo! Loved the high-ceilinged former warehouse setting

Being met at the front door by a very rude and bad attitude young girl with long eyelashes whom also took our order. She must hate her job, terrible service with overcooked steak, definitely will not come back again.

The venue is great, the service was attentive and the meal was nice - however the garlic cream sauce was just cream and flavourless. The most disappointing part was going to pay the bill with only one till open - waiting 20 minutes to be able to pay at the end of the meal. A very chaotic and unorganised time and put a heavy dampener on the experience.

Great steak and great service, John’s customer service made the steak & cocktails taste just that little bit better. Will return again soon

Worst customer service ever. I arrived early so got a wine from the bar (bar tenders was friendly) advised staff I had a booked. Another person also came in they ignored me and service him I said I again I have a booking she goes your table is over there and proceeded to take the other person to the table. After over 30 mins not one did they offer me a menu or come check on me So left.
