The Lion Hotel

We walked in and found a table at the sport bar. We had steak and burger. The size of the meals were big enough for adults. Their tiger prawns and broken chicken fat potatoes were amazing too. Their desserts were nice and big for the price. We loved the dark chocolate and the cheesecake ones.

The Tunnels are stunning! Food was fantastic and the wine selection was very good. Would recommend to anyone having a function

Classic pub with a rich history, but this new refurbishment is next level. Wow, I can't get over how diverse and unique this place is. Yet it's so welcoming and has such tremendous staff. Can't recommend highly enough, if you haven't been in the last 6 months, stop looking at this a book a bloody table. Or just go for a casual drink I don't care, just bloody go there.

Can you believe the experience we had at The Old Lion. Ordered 3 Margarita Cocktails, all good, so ordered another three. Not so good, no salt around the cocktail glass and the liquid had an egg white froth on it. Sent the drinks back and watched the action in the bar. Tipped the mixture we had into a jug, salted the same glasses and replaced the same back into the glass! That is six cocktails f or $108. But that is not all, I ordered the Wagyu beef, but got a the sirloin topped w with a cold chutney and beetroot plopped on the side.

Last night we went to lions because thinking of sport bar and chill out with the girls. We hadn't book cuz we thought sport bar should be alright. At that was after 8.30pm. We walked in and the staff at the front asked "did we have the reservation " we said "no". Then he was said with the hash voice "no reservation then OUT! ". We understand that no reservation then no table but should talk nicely. Or maybe cuz we are Asian or something. Very disappointed with the voice that guy used with us. Lucky he was wearing mask otherwise everyone might heard that.

Nice spacious environment with lots of natural lighting. Great variety of seating options, both inside and out. Interesting menu.

Brilliant experience.

-Got a park right outside
-Delt with at least 10 staff, all lovely and polite.
-Our meals (eye fillet and parmigiana, potato’s and salad, amazing, well cooked, zero faults.
-Everything brought out correctly and quickly.
-Reasonably priced
-Everyone reasonably spaced between tables.
-135 minute seating was more than sufficient (this 90 min time limit at other restaurants currently is ridiculous)

Couldn’t fault it.

We were visiting from Sydney on a work trip and stopped by this cool pub, we had some breadsticks with a trio of dips along side a dozen fresh oysters. It was a great vibe with friendly staff, the beer was cold and sitting outside on a beautiful day made the experience that much better. Definitely worth a stop if ever in the area.

The staff, decor, selection of the drinks and atmosphere were just amazing. We ordered three mains and two appetiser. The appetisers were vegetarian and full of flavours, three different cheeses, very good balance of sauce, seasoning and dressing. The wagyu burger was fantastic. Every element complimented the beef. The patty was 100% beef and very well seasoned and cooked. The choice of cheese and bacon were perfect. The chicken Parmesan was one of the best. Evenly cut thick chicken breast cooked to perfection with just right amount of sauce, cheese and bacon and the fires was just a perfect side for that. Duck breast cooked to perfection. One of the bests i have ever tasted. All and all the place serves wonderfull tasty food. The food is fresh, hearty and delicious.

Service is exceptional. And the food, OMG! Steak cooked perfectly medium, and the Scallops.divine.highly recommend

Was really disappointed with the dining area. I personally went in and booked the round table for my partners birthday weeks in advance. I called a couple of days before just to confirm the booking (I had already confirmed by text aswell) and was told they’d moved us onto a different table because they had to make room for other guests. Apparently there was a bigger group that needed that table and one across from it. The girl said the had a nice table in the window for us though. They also had the booking down at half 6, when the booking was for 7.45 (the text also confirmed it was at 7.45) anyway the night came and I called through to let them know we would be 5mins late and the girl took my name and assured me no problems. Our group arrives and there isn’t a table for us? !? The girl that greeted us was lovely and quickly pushed the tables together for our group. Tables that are next to the round table that I had originally booked. There was another group on the window table with balloons ect. Pretty disappointing they managed to stuff up that many times. Also quite embarrassing considering it was a special night and then 10 of us are all standing around waiting. The meal was okay, yet to add to the lack of service, I asked for a bottle of house white sav, and the guy brought out a $60 bottle of wine, (definitely not a house, shaw&smith) which I didn’t realise until the end of the meal when paying the bill. Pretty disappointed considering it was meant to be a special night and we live across the rd. We have eaten many times in the pub section so had high expectations; all of which were sadly unfulfilled.

Enjoyed my steak, was a little on the rare side for a medium but good quality. Would have been nice to have a little more fresh veg to cut through the heavy red meat.

Service was very good, staff friendly.

Toilets could do with a good scrub.

Red wine by the glass very expensive at $14 per glass

Excellent venue, recently enjoyed a fabulous lunch here with friends and family. Keen to come back, well done everyone!

4 of us had dinner in the restaurant tonight. The food was excellent, with a good variety of meals, good portion sizes, and all well presented. A great selection of gins and wines was available, too. Chris, our waiter was exceptional. He was friendly, engaging, polite & very professional. The ambience of the restaurant is first class. We will definitely return.

The service was fantastic. We all had steak and they were all cooked perfectly! Definitely will be back.

Our lunchtime meal of waygu beef was first class cooked to perfection at medium rare as requested and full of flavour. Beautifully seasoned chips. Absolutely recommend.

Lovely meals served in a timely manner by friendly staff. The smoke from the nearby outdoor area was not very pleasant during our meal, otherwise it was a nice evening. Hopefully they can seal the doors properly in the future.

Perfectly cooked steak. The kingfish crudo with strawberry vinegar was a winner with our group. The entrees accompanied with breads needed some more bread and we had to order a serve of extra bread.

Had a wake for 50 people in the Tower Room, excellent venue, attentive service, good finger food, good price. Definitely recommend it
