The Gov

Great venue. But the sound for both thirsty Merc and Daryl Braithwaite was terrible. You couldn't hear the voices, the bass was flat and dull, high frequency distortion and feedback Really ruined the night for me.

Great for live music and that local bar feel.dressed up or dressed down the gov will I've you some love.

Was slightly disappointed in this place, menu wasn’t very big with very little options! We went on Wednesday afternoon at about 4pm when they were suppose to be offering 2 for pizzas for $18. We were told that they did not offer this deal on ‘show nights’ but last time I checked 4pm does not count as night time so was slightly confused! No happy hour on a Wednesday afternoon which was a bit odd. Beer/cider jugs were $25 (bit pricey for the bar it was) The girls at the bar were a bit rude (got the feels that they didn’t want us there, they gave us dirty glasses) However the manager was very nice and chatty:)

Order the hot pots save yourself. 45 minute wait for a schnitzel at 1750 and then it was under cooked on one side and pink. The chips had only just defrosted and my gravy came out looking as it does in this picture. So thick and gluggy my schnitzel would get stuck.i didnt have time to return this as i was going to a dance concert. Was disappointed.

Good venue but the sound system is very harsh- seen a few bands here and not one of the sounded well mixed. The speakers need updating, came out of loving colour concert with tinnitus and yet it wasn't really great quality sound. Very harsh and over loud to compensate for lack of bass and harsh vocal reproduction
