The Gov reviews
45Beautycool fun great bar staff always love spending my time hear after the love of at entertainment centre
Saw Bjorn Again. Great show, great venue. Full house. Also saw Shipping Steel and New sensation the night before
Unfortunately the stage height does not allow view of band by over half the crowd
Everytime I have been there, some 6'4" person/s stand between myself & the stage, so you spend the whole show moving around to catch glimpses of the band between bobbing heada
The Tomkin family should be very proud of 30 years, and supporting bands. Plus pokie free.
Our food took over an hour to come which made us late for a show - no apologies when it did come, even though we followed up twice. When it arrived it was nice but hard to enjoy it when we had to scoff it down! The staff weren’t very friendly and not super helpful.
Good Morning Gents,
Wippet here putting in my 2 cents about the 2nd best pub on The Port Piper Road. You beauty.live music, nice cold beers can't beat it aye!
The bar maid Maya, always looks after me and puts a few extra chippies on my plate.
Until next time, See you at the front bar.

The Gov is a great place for a drink and live music. They have kept live music going through these last couple of years and should be applauded on the way they have dealt with the challenges the Government has forced upon them.
Went to the quiz night organised and held in The Gov. We all had a great time and the meal was good (not to mention the brews)
Fantastic service Great venue Loved the live bands again. The Sundance kids and THE SUPER JESUS WAS A GREAT NIGHT
The harmonics played when I was there. Quite wonderful. Food was pub food, but ok. At least they have gluten free food!
Our family had a very enjoyable meal at the 'Gov', with varied choices from the good menu. Staff service was excellent in this 'old style', popular venue. Would recommend it, plus in a very convenient location, near the Entertainment Centre!
The meal prior to the show was very disappointing, Caesar Salad at $25 a plate came out bland and unimpressive. No anchovies withe the caesar salad.wouldn't eat here again!
Staff were good but could have tried to help to make our experience better.
Oh well, plenty of other places to dine prior to the next gig.
The gov is great live music venue. Lovely old building with plenty of history. Good food and friendly staff. The gov is a place that supports live music and musicians, these sort of places need you to visit just to appreciate what live music there is around, even in covid times. Don't let good good live music die.
Great spot to catch bands (Dave Gleeson was excellent) but place is looking tired - needs a bit of a refresh/update
Awesome night with the 80's vs 90's theme night, with the never ending 80's band
Highly recommend everyone see this band, absolutely amazing!
Fantastic night of 80's music, full house, good friends and few drinks what more does one need.
Pretty cool joint. No room on the dance floor 80s vs 90s Night. The band totally ripped and the house was roaring with those groovy 80s beats and the big ballads of the 90s. Totally went off.
Restaurant food was a winner too.
Great 80's night. Loved it. Woke up in a bush with one shoe the next day - but totally worth it
Music played before artists come on is much too loud. We could not hear each other speak.
Overall though we had a good night and the food was good.
