The Cafe 1839

If your looking for hot tasteful coffee this is the place. Friendly and welcoming. We have had lunch and returned for breakfast the following day won't be disappointed.

Cute little building that's cosy inside. Friendly service and yummy food. Some seating indoors but most seating is outside. Food came quickly despite being very busy.:) Nice relaxing music playing.

I had lunch here for my birthday with friends. Service was really good, the staff are very friendly. Sipping coffee outside you really get to fully experience the atmosphere of this little Hahndorf!

Blankets are provided too if you want to sit outside

We only had some drinks here but it has been super nice, sitting outside seeing the nice autumn leaves and looked at the menu and stuff came out to other tables, looks very yummy. Will try their food when next time we come to Hahndorf again

The food and coffee was delicious. Highly recommend the Corn Fritters.literally a party in the mouth.really fresh. The poached eggs were perfect. Also I big shoutout for the customer service.exceptional

Terrible service. Ordered two coffees and two serves of fruit toast. Coffees came but fruit toast was sent to another table. When we went to pay and told them we never got our toast, they told us they’d make us toast to take away which we agreed too. Got in the car to find they’d only give us one serve!

Called and manager answered the phone and I said oh I was just checking you were open for breakfast today. He responds with well me answering the phone should have answered that question. Then when I called back and said that was rude his response was well on a public holiday we try to say it light heartedly. He answered the phone. Was I supposed to hang up and be rude or just let him know nevermind I was just checking to see if you were open. Never been here before and now won’t be going. Rude as!

Great choices & affordable. Nice spot to have lunch or a coffee, indoors or outside dining available.

Busy being Anzac Day morning. Friendly prompt service and our eggs served to perfection. Highly recommended

Cafe 1839 was great. The friendly service and detailed recommendations were welcomed and appreciated!

A great range of food and drink to cover breakfast, brunch and lunch. Generous food portions and the only thing stopping a 4 star being a 5 star is slightly higher prices than similar offered products elsewhere locally.

Out door dining with blankets for winter but not a lot of under cover to escape the hot sun.

Great little kids corner to help keep the little ones entertained.

Lovely experience. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. The corn fritters are absolutely delicious! Perfect little spot for a brunch in Hahndorf.

Great food, lovely cafe, a cute little play area for young ones.fast on the hot drinks.food came at different times which meant one of us was still eating while others had finished.

Coffee was ok but the staff member that served us was horribly rude, rolled his eyes and spoke terribly when I didn't hear a question that he asked. Would not return simply because of this server.

It was a raining outside and the family walked in to Cafe 1839. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff.
The food was delicious and delivered in no time.

Nice food, staff was friendly enough, heard one complaining alot about being there which threw the meal off but the food was alright (the burrito bowl add avocado)

We had a late lunch with family and friends around 2pm but the owner didn't rush us to finish our meal because they normally close at 3pm. He still brought out great meal for us. We had a great time and very much appreciated for the owners hospitality.

Great coffee, best breakfast I've ever had, friendly staff, Mum even got a free coffee for her 71st Birthday! We will be back for sure+

Well cooked breakfast, well presented dishes, positive vibes and well mannered staff, all at the same time! Comfy and cozy area with blankets to accompany you during the cold weather is great too. Thank you for your great hospitality.
