Thai Orchid Restaurant reviews
70 Don't order veg pad Thai you will only get egg noodles no veg at all, even though we send it back to kitchen but chef said vegetarian only come with noodles.
By the way they do have nice satay sauce.
ZERO STARS! I dined here New Years Day and will never make this mistake again. The service was horrible. Received dirty cutlery. Then that evening my partner fell incredibly ill and spent all of the evening and next day in the worst possible state (I don't want to mention any graphics) and was confirmed he received food poisoning. I made an attempt to email the restaurant rather than take to public reviews but received no response. I then called today (almost a week later) and they said they will get onto the email and "look into it". I asked what do you have to say about all this and they kept saying "I'll look into it and I'll read the email" so I told the manager can you not bring yourself to apologise? And rather than taking that chance to say sorry they blamed the "heat" for him being sick. So for this, I've felt the need to leave such negative feedback. It was bad enough that he was sick from their food and so I sent an email as a courtesy for them to be mindful of which dishes were contaminated and instead I don't get an apology or anything. The damage was done, and then they couldn't even handle it with common manners as business owners.
Excellent place to eat and drink, I am new to Adelaide and discover this place which is my new favorite now. Great ambiance near the beach, good taste and quantity.
Ive haven’t dined there for a number of years. But living in the area previously was a regular
Unfortunately I found the food not as good as before and the main course serves (apart from the pad Thai) on the smaller side
The waitresses were bordering on annoying and kept asking every 2 mins whether we were ready to order
Even asking them to wait and we would signal for them to come they still kept coming and asking
I would understand if the restaurant was busy but on hot night inside would have been 60% full
There are better Thai options in the city and unfortunately I wont be back
My favourite Thai restaurant - delicious food!
You cannot beat the High Tide Bar - snacks and draft beers in the most stunning setting!
Don’t miss the satay source. Incredible!
Been there on Sunday afternoon, lady in the counter not really friendly as she was busy with other things to do, food pretty much average, served in no time, meaning to me not really fresh made (noodles in different ways and seafood as well)
Just went down here for a feed and it was absolutely amazing! We had chicken satay skewers, red beef Curry, prawn salad, salt and pepper squid and egg fried rice. It was an amazing meal we'll definitely be back here again. Anyone that wants to try some great Thai food in a great location with very friendly staff, this is the place to go.
Family friendly.
Helpful staff willing to move tables around to fit a pram, and able to get food out quickly.
Food is delicious and portions are generous.
Amazing place
Ordered SaltNPepper squid it was not what we expected - more like a squid salad but was too expensive for that size! Chili Chicken was average.
Food is to die for so many diverse flavours its a holiday for the senses ignighting your sense of smell and taste, so much variety every dish is a winner, the staff are very friendly and attentive, take away is quick only waited 15min for 4 dishes.
Always love this place. One of my most fave places to eat. Amazing food and service every single time in a gorgeous location by the sea.
Foreshore at Henley, it's an excellent view, and the food was great, more for a date night, or an adult family meal, not kid friendly
Terrible service and food. Chicken was cold and noodles luke warm. Advised the staff and was given a rud dirty look. Food is obviously pre-made, and workers don't have any customer service. Don't waste yout money or time. AVOID.
The location is perfect, the service is good but unfortunately the food is horrible.food just sploshed on the plate.no flavour, no finishing touches.my sister had a satay dish and it was like a bowl of peanut sauce.there were 8 of us and all said how "ordinary" the food was.such a shame.they could be the best with a better chef.
Was there on a hot Sunday night so very busy. The service was brilliant, the staff very attentive, the meal (Drunken Seafood but be careful of the chillies!) very tasty, good amount, not expensive, and served quickly. Highly recommended
Food was nice but service was disappointing. I had to remind them that we have been waiting some considerable time. It had appeared that we'd been forgotten. We expressed our disappointment but had no offer of compensation.
Very nice Thai, recommend the Drunken Seafood.mmm.lovely friendly staff, should have let them know the Pathaway Shiraz had passed it's use by date prior paying the tab.
They were nice enough to offer complimentary glass's next visit.
See you next time Thai Orchid
As an Asian, I can say that this is definitely not a good Thai food. You can have better quality Asian food in Chinatown with less money. The only good thing is the scenery of the sunset. In general, waste of money.
Friendly staff, Average food, quick response, traditional decor. You can chill with drink and food on outside table on summer and sit warm inside large hall on winter. Average price. Well Located. Will love the food and service. Will come back soon.
Fantastic food. Fantastic view. Great prices. Vegan and gluten-free options. Best Thai in Adelaide.
