Taverna Greek Psistaria

We celebrated my sons 18th at this fabulous Greek restaurant. Food and service were superb, and yes mains are huge - teenage boys did not need a maccas run afterwards. Management were very flexible in accomodating our group of 15, and great to deal with. We were recommended this restaurant and it didnt disappoint. Thank you to everyone at Taverna for a great night out.

So I've been trying convince my other half to visit this place for months and finally we did. Yum! This place did not disappoint. With very high expectations my partner was so pleasantly surprised.

All the food was consistently delicious. The way it was cooked was with pure love and respect for the ingredients.

The octopus so tender and matched perfectly with the pickled veg for a light starter.

The dishes that blew us away, were the barramundi on a cheesy risotto and the lamb shoulder.

This beast barramundi beautiful big serving the fish so tender and juicy, but with the crispy, salty skin, the tender delicate fish matched so perctly with a creamy decadent risotto.

And the lamb shoulder.this was the reason we visited the Taverna. Cooked over charcoal it is still tender and juicy and rich fatty flavours again paired to perfection with the lemon potatoes.

All topped off with some coffee patron, some traditional Greek coffee and the impeccable service from father and son duo Stav and Jacob. We thoroughly enjoyed dining with you guys tonight, and we will be back for sure!

My partner recommended going on the smell alone when walking past and glad she did. Booking table online, even the night before, was very easy. Parking is easily accessed in the middle of Port Road and set of lights makes crossing easy.
The restaurant is a nice, little narrow shop that goes back for quite a while, able to accommodate couples and larger parties.
The interior is very nicely fitted out and because of the size, you are not packed in like sardines.
The waiters were courteous, giving time for us to decide. We started with dips and then had the Leonidas, a nice mix of meats and the Kokkinisto. The Leonidas had a nice smokey flavour. The Kokkinisto was something I had not had before. The wagyu beef fell apart and had a delicious seasoning.
Looking forward to a revisit. The menu is quite large with something for everybody. Will look at sharing more as well.
Due to the high quality, it is a bit pricier.

The customer service is outstanding and authentic! The food is memorable and worthy of the 5 star review.

Best Greek food I have ever tasted! And the hospitality and service was second to none too! Will definitely be back here again and again.

Great quality greek food, love Taverna went for first time recently since their relocation. Its beautifully styled. I would say that it seems more expensive than before, like i used to get a certain mixed meat plate/platter for about $45 & it would be enough for 2 & leftovers! But i didnt see it on the menu anymore. So its more a premium dine for me now.

Honestly great Greek food and fabulous service by the entire team. Thank you so much for a truly lovely evening. Will definitely be dining there again!

We loved our experience at Taverna, amazing food, atmosphere and service. Kokkinisto was our favourite. Best Greek food in Adelaide!

Prawn skewers were overcooked and the vein was still on some asked for potatoes and got 2 wedges only.
Fettucine was overcooked.
Overpriced and poor food.

I booked a table for two and arrived a little early. We sat down and were offered drinks - while we placed the drinks order I also asked for a serve of garlic and beetroot dip. I said that after we finished the dip we'd place our main order.
The dip and drinks came out at the same time as the 8 seat table next to us filled.
We finished our entree and the waiter then served the table next ignoring us.
It was at that slight we chose to pay the bill and leave.

The chicken dish was tender and delicious! Fit out of the restaurant was beautiful. Will be back for sure.

Haven't been to taverna since their Brompton days, although I heard it's the same owners they have definitely stepped it up since the last time I was here.

Came for a 60th today. Great servings, great food, good service
