St Louis House Of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert reviews
61We went there on a Saturday night and left with disappointment. Coffees and cakes were good but they kept sending our orders to somebody else although we reminded them twice! We waited and waited…. I understand that they are busy on Saturdays but mistakes happen twice on one table? That is embarrassing!
Menu choices and how they're displayed, in small hard cover books is brilliant. The food, also as amazing.
Decent size area for seating, especially considering how very small the service desk is.
Ice cream flavours are sensational, highly recommended. Pricing however is a little on the rich side.
The services not there, no points asked for your table number and them asked you waiting for your foods at the counter when you pay top dollar for desert.
Gosh guys, poor service, food very average, straight out of freezer? Almost stale. Table of 3 first 2 serves out in ten third meal 15 minutes later. No sorry no apologies. What's wrong there?
Normally I enjoyed coffee here but
8.00pm On Mother’s day; 9/5/21
We ordered x2 cappuccinos, I saw a blonde girl who made our coffee put hot water in our coffee when stretched-milk became short. When tasting them, they were just too hot to the degree I got burnt and too bland. When I told her its too hot and no coffee taste, she got rude and made another coffee that was a very bitter flat white. She did not seem to know how to stretch milk, check the optimum temperature to make white coffee and tell the difference between flat white and cappuccino/cafe latte. That was a shame. Hope she does not ruin the service and coffee taste of the cafe.
1. Peanut butter crepes
Terribly disgusting crepes. It is hard like cardboard and tasteless. Its texture just like unfreshly made crepes and put in the microwave reheat or even probably bought the crepes from suppliers. The fillings is peanut butter. It has very very very thick peanut butter in it which is not really balanced to me maybe someone else like it. The chocolate sauce and the vanilla icecream is fine. Anyway, it doesn't worth waiting for almost 20mins.
2. Chocolate Noir waffle.
Rich chocolate icecream and a pretty good vanilla with rich chocolate sauce. Although it tastes not bad, still not really worth waiting for almost 20mins.
Had a waffle from there, never again. Floury and doughy, didn't even get the right ingredients in it as advertised in the menu. Gross
A great place to indulge! The coffee was great, hot chocolate amazing and the churros tasty. All staff were friendly and welcoming and service was fast.
Myself and a few other friends visited the norwood st.louis this evening and were very disappointed with the service. Firstly our water glasses were dirty and looked unpolished. This seems to be a theme among st.louis cafes. Secondly our friend was rudely told to leave after she came to join us at our table indoors. We tried to bring a chair in from outside after seeing that another table had brought in 2 other chairs without any issues but were told off for this, and our friend told to “get out” rudely by the owner. While we appreciate that there is a set capacity indoors, we had already paid for a decent amount of food and were offended by the handling of the situation. A simple apology would have been appreciated. However, we moved outside into the cold evening. Note the heater was not turned on. Next our food was taken to our old table, after a significant wait of half an hour. When our food finally arrived to our table, it was unappetizing in a cardboard box, unlike the food that was meant for us brought to the wrong table. The churros were ok, no compensation was offered for the poor earlier treatment. The final straw was that our friend was given a fork for her ice cream. Apparently this was because they had run out of spoons, unsure why a teaspoon wasn’t available. Will be tentative to come back. North adelaide st.louis is better.
Too much attitude, not enough coffee in their cups. Gave them two tries but the vibe was tense. Staff looked stressed. Boss man was flippant, distracted. Shame, cos it’s a nice spot.
The Staff are great and very polite and so is the atmosphere, a great place to sir and enjoy their fine desserts and I love the coffee.
Very expensive gelati.imited flavours. Serving staff had to ask the manager if the sorbets were dairy free.
This place is absolutely amazing. Consistent in quality and service each time every time. Love this place. Highly recommend!
Have been here a few times and it is a very nice setting indoor and outdoor with tasty products on the menu. Would be a perfect experience if the speed of service increased when just ordering coffees.
We ordered fondue for 2 and first the chocolate came cold (and no candle) after asking for a warm chocolate they simply put it in the microwave.and also the “generous portion” of chocolate wasn’t even enough to finish half of the fruits and after asking for more the staff said we would have to pay extra.never been served that bad in my life.
I would never go again. We ordered Churros feast, 2 teas, coffee, milk shake etc. I think we ordered reasonable amount for 4ppl. However we’ve been told to leave as they said they have ‘1 hour limit sitting’. Even we weren’t sitting there for an hour. They didn’t say anything when we ordered. Do they want people spend money and just go right after? Also they served every food with TAKEAWAY box which was shocking.
Awful service. Ordered through Deliveroo but when rung to follow up the order, was rudely advised they do not take orders from deliveroo.
Ice cream cookie was a verrry small serving size for $18. Probably better off buying a scoop of ice cream and a cookie on the side
Great spot to catch up with family, friends and colleagues! Coffee is great and the churros are some of the best I’ve had in Adelaide. I love the St Louis Ice cream with honeycomb, it’s yum and not so sweet!
Wonderful place for desserts. Definitely worth the price tag. Outside area is very cozy and good for a chat. My friend and I enjoyed it very much.
