Sean's Kitchen reviews
73Great food in a beautiful space in Skycity Adelaide. I had the tenderloin steak cooked to perfection and we shared the famous crunchy duck fat potatoes and side various side dishes of vegetables and salad
MMM Second week here and thought we would go all out what a mistake.
Food was ok but service from Miss X was horrible. She was rude and make our night a let down. It really doesn't hurt to smile and actually look like you want to serve us. Sorry for going here!
Will not be back.
I was looking forward to going here but it was abit of a let down. Happy to pay when you do good food and ask for that much but when you don't deliver and ask for that much.it was a weekday too. All I can say is dry and over cooked.
Lovely place. Friendly staff. The squid and pork belly entree was amazing, also our steak mains and the mushroom dish were delish. Highly recommend this place, we will be back
Food and service were great. If I would pick on something.it was freezing inside the restaurant. By the end of our meal our feet were ice.had to leave our jackets on as well.
Sean's Kitchen was a delight! The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing, the open plan kitchen allows you to see the team of chefs and their amazing methods, and the bar is well stocked (I highly recommend the Corpse Reviver cocktail!). We were in luck, when we were handed our menu, the kitchen were serving up a few specials of black truffle dishes and, oh! *chefs kiss* it was devine.
Word of warning, it is not overly vegetarian friendly, as they specialise in steaks and meat products, but there were a few delicious dishes that were veggo friendly.
I highly recommend having a special night, anniversary, intimate birthday dinner here!
Food was excellent, service was great, but the music was too loud so we had to shout to talk to our friends
Amazing food and an excellent wine list. This restaurant is supported by a very friendly and welcoming team, who all provide great customer service. Thank you Sean's Kitchen!
It all started when we found out about 20 minutes after sitting down that our table was rebooked and we needed to be out by 8pm. There was no mention of the 2 hour time window when I booked online and no correspondence from the restaurant suggesting as much either.
Unfortunately, having to rush after getting the hurry up was the least of our problems. We shared a kingfish ceviche for entree and that was pretty nice, but the main courses were both well below what we expected given the reviews here. I had the prawn linguine and my wife had one of the fish dishes and you could smell them coming from the time the waiter reached the top of the stairs. Clearly the fish and the prawns were far from fresh so that meant it was impossible to enjoy them, so much so that it made the blandness of the meals more of a highlight. Even the simplest of things, the pasta, was overcooked and fell apart when trying to wind it on the fork. Quite frankly, it's insulting to be served up such food at a restaurant in this price range.
One star is for the ceviche and the good service. Rest assured I won't bother going back.
Do not go here! We had a table upstairs in a dark hole with no light or atmosphere, very, very poor- we left so no review on the food- be very careful where your table is
The staff there were really not nice at all. Although my wife and I were really looking for a restaurant for steak before leaving Adelaide, we finally decided to leave and give up having meal there after being treated very unfriendly.we seemed to be very unwelcome at all, after the reception lady secretly talked to her senior, she is very unwilling to bring them to be seated.we had no idea on their behaviour, but just felt very uncomfortable and forced ourselves to leave immediately rather than staying there for the unhappy meal.
Very good experience, recommend the fantastic chicken liver and crab linguine. Nice gin and wine, good service and environment. Highly recommended overall.
Great food, Lamb shoulder can easily be split between 4 as long as you get some sides to go with it.
Service great, if you have a large group ordering in advance makes things easy and less hassle
A venue unlike others in it's part of Adelaide. The food is divine, the service exceptional and the venue unique.
Our starter was an extraordinary seafood tower replete with oysters (from Smoky Bay and Coffin Bay, on the Eyre Peninsula), Spencer Gulf prawns, King Island scallops, pippies, New Zealand scampi and Alaskan crab legs (split all the way down, making them dead easy to eat). The scallops are served Sean’s favourite way: sashimi-style with a bit of lemon. Seafood is all locally sourced.
The wine list is worthy of a mention, with plenty of Adelaide Hills favourites to choose, propped against a solid list of top-end Champagnes and some equally special sparkling whites. No experience at Sean’s is complete without a serve of Mac & Cheese or the New York Cheesecake.
The Chef’s Kitchen Table experience is $250 per person and includes matching award-winning Penfolds wines.
Amazing experience - 5 stars!
Great atmosphere and decor, excellent service, and delicious food. The freshly shucked SA oysters were juicy and tasted exactly as described in the menu. I also had the butterflied whiting with xo pipis and oyster mushrooms and that was just beautiful. So fresh and tasty. Definitely a winner.
Lots of brave keyboard warriors leaving salty reviews on here, but we have gone to this restaurant roughly roughly 15-20 times and we can't fault it. Service is always top-notch, and food is amazing. Will always happily go back again and again.
The place has not lost it - still almost excellent. Great service and beautiful food with an A1 aine selection.
The lamb shared by 2 was sublime and an entree of pate far exceeded what good pate used to be!
The only glitch was a raspberry macaron which looked great but defied all efforts to cut it into two with fork then spoon and lastly knife. Quick apologies from the management with the temoval from the bill. Still highly recommended.
Amazing. Service was second to none. Great people, very friendly.
Food was awesome. My husband said he had the best steak he'd ever had. Would definitely recommend the mac and cheese (to die for) and the popcorn cauliflower.
Will definitely be back
Very professional service here and meals were pretty well priced given the environment and reputation.
