Ruby Raja Indian Restaurant reviews
64Very nice food. Reasonably priced and average size serves. Lovely atmosphere. We asked for a quiet spot and we’re given exactly that. The only negative is they didn’t do Decaffinated coffee and all four of us wanted decaf. So hence we didn’t order any coffees. But everything else was great including the lovely old building.
We were a small party of 3 and were lucky to walk in and get a table. The restaurant is divided into smaller rooms providing a quiet atmosphere. Service and food was great. Highly recommend
I PAID TO0 MUCH and said something to them. $37.90 two small tubs of curry sauce, pretty much.
No veg. No rice. No Nam bread. No Yogurt.
The beef was ok, I guess.
But for $40, for 2x tubs o sauce and a little bit of protein, (almost seemed like it was there just to make the sauce look better.)
I even said something to to their face!
As I was paying for it, telling the guy with the blue button up top, that he should discuss with management about the ridiculous pricing.
I only followed through with the payment because my wife and son were starving at home and I couldn’t bring myself to walk in the door and say that I came home with nothing.
Way over priced, cannot believe they cost $37.90 for these two tubs of curry, we didn't even have any bread or rice with it. I was kinda hoping to find gold flakes in them for a sec. That is ridiculous and the most expensive experience I ever had in my life. Definitely will not go back. Good luck with the business.
We have ordered take away from here a couple of times and have always been happy with our meal. I’ve also had a meal in the actual restaurant a couple of times and both times the service and food have been exceptional. They catered for my dietary requirements with no problems at all. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced menu too!
Best Indian restaurant in town. Rajasthan prawn is amazing. Excellent service, will definitely going back again. Highly recommended.
I've never come across a restaurant with staff so lovely
Nothing bothered them, always smiling and friendly. The food is great had a curry plate and there was plenty of food Definitely recommend it and will definitely go back.
The best Indian restaurant in Adelaide. Highly recommended. Delicious foods, friendly staffs
If you love hot curry definitely try chicken Tindaloo. Love the curry plate get to have three different curry rice choice of naan and chicken tikka. Yummmm. Definitely going back for more
Very costly, not many options in vegetarian main course, you will miss core Indian taste. Very disappointing
We had a lovely evening at ruby raja, food was very good, i can taste all the spice in my curry, and the staff was excellent services.will definitely going back there.will recommend to family and friends.
Have been going to Rubi Raja for 17 years for dinning in and large takeaways. Tonight my wife decided to make a curry so just got naan breads, poppadoms & 2 small steamed rice. It cost me $80.50!
Absolutely ridiculous, sorry but never again! Finding new curry restaurant
Food was okay, but not authentic at all, modified to suit the western taste palette. Quite overpriced for the quality!
Food is good as always. Excellent service and staff are friendly. Will definitely going back again, highly recommended. Best indian restaurant in town.
Naan bread was burnt and doughy. Asked for a new one and was told by the chef that's how they were made. Rogan Josh sauce was nice but the actual lamb was bland and had no flavour. Do not recommend and will not be going back
Had a lovely dinner at ruby raja, we request a private room for birthday party, had banquet, for entree, main meal, and dessert, they all big portion size and good in price, yummy yummy, thanks for the excellent services, will be back.
The beef vindaloo is simply to die for, a unique tomato and light vinegary flavour I've yet to really encounter at any other Indian dining establishment
I have been a customer at the Ruby Raja for over 20 years. Today I ordered food there for the last time. Firstly I noticed that the curry plate I always ordered had several items removed from it on the menu and it still costs the same. I ordered the Beef Vindaloo. When I put it on my plate I realised there were 7 pieces of meat. My wife had taken 3. I weighed my 7 pieces and they weighed 86g. When I called to complain that for $18 I got a main course of 100g of meat and he said “10 pieces of meat is what we do, I will give you a refund, we aren’t going to change what we do for 1 person”. I told him to keep his money because he’ll need it. I can’t see them keeping customers for long. This was once the best Indian restaurant in the TTG area. I won’t go there again.
Delicious meal, however since change of ownership the portion sizes are much smaller. The curry plate was always a winner, but now it is a lot of sauce with little meat. The Ruby Prawns had 2 prawns only in it. I did get warned but still went anyway.
The flavors are still awesome but unfortunately the size of the serves has shrunk considerably and the was not enough staff as we waited an hour between drinks.very friendly staff though.
Our family having been going to Rubys for year's and love it however last night's service was disappointing. Very slow waiting on tables and size of banquet has obvious reduced
