Red Ochre Grill reviews
72 The food was lovely. The Crocodile in particular was excellent. The service was great too. However the music that the staff started playing two thirds through our meal was utterly atrocious. It was the sort of music that only belongs in a gym.
It’s possible that the staff wanted the diners remaining in the restaurant to leave so that they could pack up and leave. They certainly achieved their goal. By 9: 30pm the restaurant was empty. This is a shame. We were quite willing to spend more money here. However the music of choice ruined our experience and forced us to leave.
Honestly the food selections weren't the greatest, and the prices per meals were a bit inflated for what you got. Ambience looking down the water way into the city was nice, but looking at the actual building we were sitting in was very dirty. Wasn't my favorite place to eat on my trip.
Really really good! The starters/entrees we're my favourite. Pork bao and the Kangaroo gyoza were delicious. Friendly and prompt service. Dining room is looking a wee bit tired. Thank you for a lovely dinner.
Good environment. Like the second bread, but oyster not fresh enough, salmon entree was the best one highly recommended, good steak and barramundi as main course. Overall, wonderful experience.
Great location to escape the city centre. Very romantic if you come at sunset. The food is delicious. You can also get a gondola ride from here if you feel super romantic.
Mixed feelings about this fine dining venue. The place is beautiful and view spectacular. 1/2 the meals were delightful, the other 1/2 below average. The staff did their job, but not to a fine dining standard. The coffees were poor. I would love to feel more atmosphere.
Beautiful views and delicious housemade bread! Unfortunately, our main meals were served cool or overcooked and the longer the night went on the less service we received. It did not live up to its reputation or price tonight.
We might come back sometime given we've had extremely positive experiences here before.
The meals won’t change your life, but the service is A+ and the surroundings are magic! They use a lot of unique australian foods to make the dishes and so if you’ve ever wondered what emu and crocodile taste like then this place is for you! The kkds meals for $25 maybe seemed a bit steep (choice of pasta, steak, barramundi) but they loved it and polished off the pasta no worries
Excellent food and excellent setting with view across the river to the city.
A bit expensive though.
"Rum" tasted like 90% of water mixed with rum. Staff didn't offer a replacement when brought to their attention.
Food was great but I feel like it is over priced for the quality of service that comes with it. It seemed their staff were inexperienced for the type of restaurant thst was being presented.
Brilliant service, fantastic views and magnificent food. Definitely try the kangaroo, it wil surpass your expectations!
Excellent place for an exquisite dinner away from the crowds. Good food, attentive service crew and a very satisfying dining experience.
Great food, Service needs a lift. The view and the food are amazing. A slant towards native food and it's all fantastic. A comprehensive wine list at a reasonable price range. The service needs attention. Not that they were terrible
but the staff were not proactive on the drinks side. Overall well worth trying.
Food was ok but not outstanding. Service was ordinary. Seemed understaffed and those waiting staff on duty were inexperienced. Also, the website was not up to date with regard to the pricing of drinks eg.a bottle of sparkling wine listed as $42 was actually $58 on the night we were there.
Had a fantastic dinner here last Saturday night. The brisket melted in your mouth, and my wife's barramundi was devine. The little extras that the staff did, made our wedding anniversary a very memorable one. Thanks again
Great place for international guests to try local wine and fauna. Service impeccable, food delicious. Great view.
Very average food at rather inflated prices.bickering staff in the kitchen area made for an uncomfortable experience
Great food with native Australian flavours.
Chocolate Decidance is amazing.
However service can be rather slow.
One of Adelaide's famous place for dishes with native ingredients. Kangaroo, Crocodile and Emu are must tries. There are also other dishes with native plantation used. Lots of Asian customers at this venue and the sight at night is beautiful, being floating on River Torrens.
