Pondok Daun Restaurant reviews
59I love your grilled beef ribs people! It is really the best! Plus the customer service is amazing! Friendly staff and happy. I will definitely come back.
Super delicious and authentic Indonesian food! Absolutely love the Grilled Beef Ribs!
Very friendly staff =) The food is served pretty quickly. Good prices. Usually busy since the food is so good! Always love eating here!
We were after something different for dinner instead of Thai, Viet or Chinese and happened to stumble across this great Indonesian restaurant. Friendly service and huge portion sizes. The beef rendang was SO good that we even got another serve. The satay was also delicious so we got another serve of those also - whoops.
What an awesome little restaurant! Friendly staff, quick service and the food is fantastic! I had the satay sticks and rice. Enjoyed every morsel. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu (I got mine takeaway and was privy to a few dishes of food being taken out to customers dining in.they all looked so good!)
Having visited Adelaide infrequently since 2007, I wonder why there are no Indonesian restaurant in this state. The community is there and growing, market definitely is there. Looks like the team at Pondok Daun also felt the same and raised to the challenge. Definitely their food is up there with other Indo Australian restaurant that exist in other state and since my fave is beef ribs, Pondok Daun definitely serve great beef ribs even when compared to the restaurant in Indonesia!
A must visit when you are in town and their beef ribs, ox tail soup or batagor definitely a must try!
On a day where everything was closed, my partner and I decided to go grab some food at the only open place on our street. Best decision ever. Absolutely amazing food, with lots of veggo options and really great service. 10/10 would go again.
Dinner at Pondok Daun: great traditional Indonesian food at great prices. Very delicious overall! Always a pleasure to go back for food.
.
Indonesian dumplings /siomay Bandung: good dish with tasty sauce.
.
Gado gado: Indonesian salad. Mildly spicy. Nice standard dish.
.
Ngohiang / loh bak: similar to the Malaysian version. Tasty!
.
Cah Kangkong: standard dish across Malaysia and Indonesia - this one is only slightly spicy, but pretty good.
.
Cassava chips / singkang goreng: just something different! Nice and crispy.
.
Ayam balador: fried chicken dish with moderate spicy sauce. Really good!
.
Ayam goreng: just simple fried chicken dish - can't go wrong with this one.
.
Pecel Lele: fried fish dish - a reliably good one!
.
Desserts: es campur and es teler - both quite refreshing at the end of the meal.
Probably the best Indonesian Restuarant on Adelaide! Very affordable prices! And definitely delicious food! Love it! Always try to get some food from Pondok whenever we are in the city.
Food was really good.service was really friendly too.but the dessert was really icy.
Didn't give that snowy tecture.
Some of the most authentic, tasty and affordable Indonesian food I've had in Australia. Highly recommended the rendang. Enak sekali!
Delicious. The kind of restaurant that is all about TASTE, no need to bother with fancy decor and you won't miss it because your tastebuds will be so happy)
Really good comfort food. Has so many options. Have been here 3 times and food is always good. Love the sunday service here.
Fabulous food. We ordered the balado chicken, the penyet chicken and seafood fried vermicelli (mee hoon) - superlicious!
Quite basic seating
food portions small
priced slightly more than I would expect.although chicken salad was very tastey
Nice place for some Indonesian food. Prices are really good, servings are worth it. Staff are nice and friendly. Food is cooked fresh and served really quick. Just finding a car park that doesn't burn your pocket is a problem. But really great restaurant. We keep coming back for the food. Love the chilli belachan.
Delicious and authentic Indonesian food.
Reasonable price and good service, foods serve really fast. Highly recommended
The CKT had a lovely flavour. Unfortunately it didn't have the char or spice of CKT I am used to from Malaysia. Additionally it had some rather large pieces of almost raw cabbage or similar. Most disappointing was the serving size. The meals I saw come out to those dining in were huge. One lady couldn't eat all hers. Half a plate almost filled the take away container. While the portion was large enough for me, clearly eating in represents better value. Flavours were very good, meal was enjoyable so I would go back but probably would choose to eat in next time, particularly if I was hungry.
Food tastes delicious and the prices are value for
A good spot to stop for lunch or dinner when travelling through Adelaide compared to all the spots I've tried in Melbourne this is on the top of my list. 8/10 rating
Quaint and absolutely delicious. We had the chicken satay, nasi goreng and the whole fish - everything was beautiful, flavoursome and very well priced. Licking our plates!
Delicious food, good service and reasonably priced. Portion sizes are decent too. Good restaurant to visit for authentic Indonesian food.
