Pondok Daun Restaurant reviews
59Teh tarik quite diluted and definitely wasn’t tarik’ed at all. The passion fruit drink tasted more like lychee packet drink. But the bebek rice was nice. The duck was nicely marinated and fried crisp. And the sambal accompanying it was spicy enough.
Fantastic, simple food with great flavours. I've eaten in and got take out from here. Last time was on a busy Friday lunchtime, was told 15 to 20 minutes and it came out within 10 minutes - awesome.
Best Indonesian restaurant in Adelaide. There's another branch in Prospect Northpark Centre.
I ordered fried fish with kinda special sauce on it it was so delicious next time I will try satay highly recommend
Fantastic authentic indo food! We had some of the best satay ever here! Don't go here if you look for a fancy dinner with candle light and wine, go here for awesome food, you'll definitely get it here. If I closed my eyes I felt like I was back in Indonesia.
I always believe that Indonesian restaurants which can impress me with nasi goreng means that they can cook well and this restaurant is one of them.
Got a takeaway beef rendang for lunch yesterday. Big chunks of meat that were really tender, and the rendang gravy was very flavourful. Not too spicy, but they included sambal to modify the heat to personal taste, good idea!
This place was recommended by a friend of mine. And I have to agree, this place offers really good food. The service is pretty quick and the value isn't that bad. It's a shame I wasn't able to try more of the other dishes. I look forward on trying the rest of the food on their menu.
Was a bit skeptical when I walked in this place. Walking in and smelling the malay/indo aroma, this place is reminiscent of a warung!
After savoring the food, I was immediately taken back into Asia. Fantastic value for money & authencity! Large portions as well!
This is definitely an awesome place to go if you’re looking to remember Bali/ Kuala Lumpur!
Delicious Indonesian cuisine. Their stew beef and fried noodles (kuey teow) were both well made. Communication can be poor as my friend asked for extra serving of meat but instead was charge for two meals (instead of just meat serving).
Little shop in the heart of the city serving authentic Indonesian food at affordable prices. Grilled beef ribs were so tender and falls off the bones. The Sambal is no joke, the spice will make you sweat even from just a tiny pinch. But it's the real deal. Mee goreng was really tasty. Got a double yolk, yay! And the portion seem to have shrunk over time for the Batagor, but the sauce is really good though. Rendang portion seems bit small as well in comparison to the rice. Kangkung belacan wasn't spicy and was a good vege dish. Very quick service of the food.
This little gem in the CBD always delivers on price and quality. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty. Give it a try.you won't be disappointed.
From main dish i have tried there beef ribs, whole fried tilapia and fried chicken.all comes with rice, chickhen stock and a special sauce.
Whole fried tilapia is really tasty and large in size.
Beef grill ribs is also tasty.was a bit dry at time.i was expecting it to be a bit juicy.
Fried chicken was not good at all.the chicken did not taste fresh and also it was dry.
On finger food i have tried samosa.it was okay.not uniqur in taste not bad.
Overalll food here is good if you like indo malay flavor.there sauce is really hot that comes with the chicken and beef.
Feels just like being in holiday again! The staff were warm and friendly, the food was generous, authentic and very tasty and came out quickly. I'll be back and have recommended to all my friends:)
Loving this little indonesian gem. Nice 'n clean, friendly and delicious food. Satays yummy and not to heavy - a lot different to the traditional chinese satays. The rice cake served with it delicious. Also had takeaway March 2020 and beef rendang was yummy too. Forgot to take photo of dry beef balls noodle soup but that was delicious (had in may 2021)
This place is one little hidden gem who sells tasty food with super fresh ingredients and in abundance at an extremely reasonable price.
The shop and facilites are very basic and simple, perhaps a reason for keeping prices low.
We loved their veg spring rolls so much so that we order 3 times.hokkein noodles and mixed veg stir fry was a winner for us. We would love to come back!
Lovliest staff, attentive customer service and genuine Indonesian cooking. The girls at the counter always smiling and reconmended dishes and spiciness.
Will add this to my authentic asian restaurants list.
Good food and fast service. It's an order at the counter place, and it is reflected in the very reasonable prices! Plenty to choose from the extensive Indonesian menu with some firey Sambal.
5 star rated for food! The staff are friendly and take their time to listen to you or help with suggestions to get what you really want. I have been there twice and the experiences as been great. Would return for sure.
Food prep didn’t take too long even when crowded. They serve all halal food, so it is a Muslim friendly Indonesian restaurant.
You get filtered drinking water for free. If you are a spicy food lover ask them to add spicy sauce on fried Tilapia and you get a huge exploding spicy dish made for you.
Love this place, the food and the people. Highly recommend place in the center of the city.
I wish they open till late and weekends.
Authentic Indonesian restaurant in the heart of the city. Decor is a little tired, although staff are friendly and food is nice.
Order at the counter and collect your utensils and water at the side.
Loh bak was excellent as is the chicken satay with peanut sauce and ketupat, and the belacan kangkong. The char kway teow is so-so.
