Peel St reviews
87One of the best eateries in SA. Outstanding produce quality and highly skilled kitchen professionals. Mouth watering flavours and beautiful, STUNNING presentation. Highly recommend the lamb. Very busy so ensure to book. If you love food and quality produce then this is the place to visit.
Seafood chowder was delicious, Vietnamese beef was to sweet. Beef was really tender though. Serves are really big. Good value
Quality of dishes isn't as we remembered. Still good but not great. Less range than there used to be (covid?). Nice staff.
Food was tasty but need more protein in their food. A lot of vege that makes the meal look huge but really the hero of the dish isn't a lot. Had the pork belly and there was only 4 pieces of it and over flowed with vege. Similar with the chicken dish. Customer service and staff were great. Dessert was delicious.
This place is special. Its about the food. Its exceptional. But everything else is good too. It had a great vibe. The only gripe I have is minor. The blackboard menu is hard to read when you are at the bar because it is behind you.
The serve sizes were generous and there was so much delicious fresh stuff on the plates too. 3 plates made a big and rounded meal for 2 without any extras.
Its not cheap but it is really good value for quality and size.
Such a great experience! We sat at the bar and loved everything, from the place to the food and the very friendly staff. The trout was so delicate and tasty! Plus the chefs looked amazing at work and they were very nice to talk to as well.
A confused culinary experience.
We really wanted to like Peel st restaurant.
But many things combined led for an overall unpleasant experience.
Here are those things:
- Being seated parallel to a wall where the menu was written up. (I'm all for sustainability, but having to crane our neck to read the menu was a bit difficult and ergonomically challenging, unless we just stand in the middle of the restaurant). - Solution - Don't sit people next to the wall where the menu is.
- Unnecessary food complexity (18 ingredients for 1 main (pork belly) led to much confusion. We enjoy our fusion food a lot, having lived in Melbourne and Perth. But never has a fusion meal disappointed us so much.
- Portion size was confusing, the waitresses mentioned that 2 mains should be sufficient, but it was not, however yes 3 mains would have been too much. I think we would have preferred a smaller entre dish but they only had 1 option of olives (which don't like).
So all in all, we were left very confused and slightly hungry.
The 2 stars are for Service & Drinks.
One of best places to dine in the city.the chef is passionate about his food and works to perfection. Grest, friendly service. Highly recommend fresh and imaginative food at its best!
I had herd from some fellow foodies when in Adelaide give this place a go.
Spot on enjoyed the food which was well balanced with bursts of amazing flavours and a really good selection of drinks we stayed late enjoyed ourselves and always happy friendly staff.
Heading back again soon with more foodie friends and can’t wait
Service, flavour, location, wine list, all of which were 5 star! Thanks for a great night Peel St
Capturing the heart of CBD present Peel St. The easy laid back atmosphere and food here guys is a must! Dinner and drinks was awesome. Fantastic service. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks sesh! Definitely will return to explore the other dishes
Loved this place! I visited from Canberra and this place came highly recommended by friends from Adelaide. Fantastic service, large portions and a great atmosphere, especially if you’re looking to celebrate. I strongly recommend the banana blossom, and pork belly. And book in advance.
Amazing dining experience! Food was sensational, generous and flavourful, the wait staff were friendly and attentive - making sure all our party were satisfied with the feed me options as pescatarians and vegetarians were looked after as well as the others.
Pros:
Great service, meat dishes looked good!
Cons:
This place is NOT GREAT for vegetarians. Food is not worth the price with veg dishes, and whilst flavour is good, it's not great and did not stand out.
I would not recommend this place for a vegetarian.
We recently dined at Peel St and loved, loved the dining experience; of fresh creative dishes of generous portions and so beautifully presented + friendly table service and good wine.we will be back!
Well presented, exceptional taste and great portion sizes. Come hungry and bring friends as these meals are meant to be shared plus, the more people, the more of the menu you can try!
Menu is updated daily and on a blackboard at back of restaurant.
This was the best dining experience I have had in a long time. Food was amazingly delicious, generous and fairly priced. Staff were very genuine and friendly. Thanks Peel Street, we will be back
Great dining with generous servings. There were 5 of us and we had planned to order 4 dishes and were encourage to order an extra one. We really didn’t need the 5th dish, which was the fish and chips and our least favourite dish. Loved the ocean trout sashimi, banana blossom salad, szechuan tofu and the ricotta dumplings with lamb. We returned the next night to have desert, both of which were amazing.
Really happy to find a restaurant that actually matches the reviews. The food so delicious full of flavour, big serves, great atmosphere, excellent service, decent price and great location.the fresh produce and menu best representation of south Australia's rich produce.oh and this was a last minute choice for my birthday! The guy who served us Thursday night timing when to bring g the desert - the best friendly waiter! 6 stars.will be back
Chill vibes and great food. Actually more reasonably priced than you'd expect for the quality of the meals! Flavours of the Middle East and South East Asia. Great for groups or a date night
