So disappointed all food was cooked in deep fryer including the Morton bay bugs all scallops and prawns where tiny and wasn't fresh and and no taste. Basically paid $250 for 5 of as for fish and chip shop food.

Wow. If you're the type of person who likes to pay for ridiculously over priced and nasty fish and chip shop junk, then this is the place to go.
The food (if you could call it that) was horrible both in taste and presentation. Their idea of grilled is just deep fried without any coating which results in rubbery prawns and slimy undercooked scallops. The chips were obviously from the freezer, not hand cut wedges like their website advertises and the side salad was just a tiny ramekin of shredded iceberg lettuce and 1 wedge of pale, soft/not so fresh tomato.
My partner and I didn't bother putting ourselves through the torture of trying to finish our meals and both ended feeling unwell shortly after.
Poor form all around! Complete rip off and just straight out insulting.
Should've just gone to Barnacle Bill's. Would've been actually edible and cheaper without the stomach ache afterwards.

Was recommended for our interstate trip but we found it to be just a fish and chip shop. Nothing special. Of concern though in this covid time was the ‘hands on’ approach to food preparation.

We ordered Grilled Fruit of the Sea and King George Whiting Grilled for almost 80 dollars. The food is terrible, and we can get much better food elsewhere with the cheaper price.

Very disappointed with the quality of the food, the price and the hygein of the cook. I am not a fussy eater, I enjoy all good food. When we walked in the salads were sitting on the counter no refrigeration, the seafood was displayed in a refrigerated window looking dry. The cook arrived to prepare the food, no gloves, dipped the seafood in batter wiped his hands on a cloth, the food was not nice and hardly touched. I will not return and I will inform my friends. Not even a good quality fish and chip shop.

The cray was mushy and very little of it. I doubt it was all there. The chips and salad were really bad. Wouldnt go again.

Ordered food from the restaurants on a Friday night the food was in transit for 40 minutes and we noticed the driver returning to the restaurant.
We phoned the restaurant and they were not interested at all and canceled the order ruining our Friday night dinner

Poor service, overpriced meals. Garlic prawns - frozen and very small servings. Kids meals better value at half the price.

Horrible
We ordered Oysters Kilpatrick but not sure what we got, I think the oysters were from a jar with some bacon thrown on top and warmed up and served, there was no sauce on the oysters or the plate and no lemon wedge either. The mains was just terrible, one serve of s
Salmon served with lemon salt on top of butter and they called it sauce and charged a hefty price as a add on and the chips were frozen as well as frozen vegetable (just thrown on top of the chips), warmed up in microwave, carrots and beans (pretty sure the menu said salad but I got veg), and the other main was a serve of Salt and Pepper mix (Prawns, Calamari pressed not the real stuff and Scallops), except they forgot to put salt or pepper on it, it was just dusted in flour and deep fried with shredded lettuce and a slice of tomato. Absolutely dissatisfied especially as the restaurant is next door to the Central Market and plenty of fresh seafood for sale there.
Do yourself a favour and walk right past it

Stumbled upon this place and decided to try ot for dinner. We weren't disappointed. Fresh seafood. Cooked any way you prefer (grill, batteres or fried). Plentiful serving. Meal was tasty and didn't leave hungry afterwards. Pricing was good. Service was great. Well looked after as a walk-in with no booking.

Great seafood and steak, but jeepers the salad needs an update. Undressed, unseasoned lettuce and tomato really has no place in a modern gastrononomic landscape.

This is the first time I've had food from this place it's hard to find good fish and chips this time of the night especially being delivered! Anyhow I found the food was very good! But paying $12 for an extra piece of butterfish is quite expensive! Overall food was good portion small for the price! For what I received under $30 would of been better

Pros: Nothing
Cons: My partner, and i booked a table for two, we walked inside and were not greeted by the staff instead they pointed what table we were supposed to sit at. The atmosphere of the restaurant was old like an age care facility, there was no music in the restaurant to set the ambiance, in addition the cost of the food was overpriced.e. G my partner, and i ordered two lobster tail meals for $55.80 each (from memory). The lobster tail meal we ordered came with hot chips that were unseasoned, diced lettuce with half of a tomato for each of us, and that was it for $55.80 each.

The size of the lobster tails were very small, and tasted tough, dry, and was not worth the money.the chips tasted something out of Coles, and the salad itself was bland with no creativity, or flavor. (even my partner makes better salads)

The review doesn't stop here fellas, now lets talk about the staff.very disappointing, and unwilling to provide exceptional customer service.e. G my partner, and I were not greeted upon entry, unenthusiastic about service, when we got up to leave we waited 5 minutes before the waitresses attended us because they were too busy talking at the back of the restaurant, and we also found ourselves asking the same questions over and over again to gain any information about dishes because the menu itself didn't provide enough info. The chef himself looked uninterested as well, and unmotivated, to simplify it the staff were a bunch of zombies out of the walking dead tv series with no enthusiasm or motivation to achieve anything the experience was that bad.

Overall Paul's Seafood isn't worth your money, we would recommend Sammy's on the Marina the food is 10x better it's value for money, and customer service there is absolutely amazing my partner and i wont be back unfortunately which is a pity because we had high expectations when we first discovered the restaurant.

This is our opinion and our experience at Paul's seafood and we can understand that some may agree or disagree but we wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

FYI- We were also hungry after that meal and ended up going to Gelatisimo and bought snacks from Coles that provided more flavor than the actual dish itself.

SO MANY Better seafood places for quality and affordability. Don't waste your time.

PROS:
- Service was good
- Battered seafood were enjoyable. However only as good as your reasonably good local $10 fish and chip shop.

Cons:
- Decor is old and rundown. I know the owners are trying to bring history and show its heritage that it's been running for many years. BUT there is a big difference between showing their heritage, and their peeling wallpaper and chipped chairs from never being replaced.
- The pricing is highly unreasonable for the service and food they are selling. It's literally a fish and chip shop, no more and no less. Only difference is that they price their food items higher.
- Even with high pricing, the plating is legitmately as basic as your local fish and chip shop.
- Salad has quarter of a tomato with no seasoning, like the rest of the reviews.
- Oyster's were definitely not fresh and tasted insanely fishy.
- Chips were stale because half the chips were hard as rock where the fork could barely pierce.

I have been a diner at Paul's for over 40 years. I haven't lived in Adelaide for many years, but I'd never come without having a meal of iconic South Australian whiting at Paul's it's a public holiday and It's open for dinner. It's fresh seafood. Simple, fresh and high quality. Great food at excellent prices. If you're a visitor to Adelaide, go to Gouger Street. It's the main international food place in Adelaide. Chinese, Greek, Vietnamese, Argentinean, Mexican, it's all there.and the all time favourite- Paul's Seafood on Gouger! The rest of Adelaide is home having a barbecue behind closed gates, but not Gouger Street and not Paul's!

Over priced poor quality. Would get more for less at the local fish and chip shop. With better quality.
Absolute rip off.

First and last time we will order here. We got soft shell crab and seafood platter. Both dishes very poor quality. We eat a lot of seafood and this was the worst by far. Do not recommend.
