Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas reviews
48Good place to hang out for a movie night, great atmosphere. Reasonable lowered price for tickets for students, but drinks are expensive ($5.20 for a bottle of water). Overall facilities are nothing to write home about, but just “good enough”.
It was good experience, but the toilet wasn't so clean, also the lounge area. The simple bottle of water was 5,5 $
Aside from the films. The place is generally okay in terms of atmosphere but can be dirty at times. It would be very beneficial if they can clean the area more thoroughly after each sittings.
Has good movies, but the place grotty especially the dirty seats and it always seems understaffed.
Grab your tickets online and for mainstream or eclectic and interesting alternative or foreign language films.grab an epic pour of your favourite wine on arrival and enjoy a great night out at the movies
Failed to see 'Heroic losers' at 5.40. Made trip from south and was told on arrival that it was 'sold out'. Ruined my evening. Won't be coming back here. Not happened anywhere else. Will go to Marion from now on, which is closer anyway.by the way, the response to my complaint from the owner was that it was my fault for not booking online.and that I should 'have a nice day' (even though I had said my evening was ruined) OK.lots of empathy from the owner. I repeat. Hasn't happened to me anywhere else?
The max screen is gigantic. It's great. Even old movies can pop, even three hours worth. And the seats are comfy, the sound is good. It has the biggest screen in Adelaide, originally the gigantic Imax screen. The only issue might be those food and drink prices. $18 for the larger drink and popcorn? That more than doubles the cost of visiting the cinema. I know, it's a luxury to be able to eat or drink during a viewing, but if they want return or repeat customers then they've got some work to do. It's gonna be hard to beat streaming services and a few dollars per movie at home while you watch on a 65 inch screen. Granted, youre paying into the thousands for the screen at home, but you don't need to pay to get in at home. Just switch it on. Does a reduction in cost for food and drink create increased volumes? Or maybe those increased volumes create increased cleaning up afterward. It's a shame. But the viewing experience itself it's great.
They do not follow Covid regulations everyone was in the same row no spacing between patrons complete disrespect for Safety
Cozy, chill place with a old school atsmosphere to see a movie. Excellent service makes me always feel welcome.
I saw a movie Friday 12/3/21 4pm at Palace Nova Eastend, and during the last half-hour or so of the movie, the screen went black but the audio was still on. Initially I thought it was a film effect but it went on too long. I complained at the end of the movie and they stated they had 'a power cut' but I knew that was not true because the Audio was still on. They wouldn't refund my money but they offered a voucher to see the same movie again, (note: only the SAME movie) which was inconvenient for me as I don't venture into Adelaide much. I tried to ring them in the cinema when this was occurring but no-one answered the phone, and no-one came in to inform us of why the movie was just a dark screen. Communication was poor. Felt this situation could have been handled in a better manner. They charged $21 to watch the movie and I felt a bit robbed as well as disappointed I never got to see the last 1/2 of the movie!
Great complex in an area with restaurants and bars near by. Good range of New Release films. Comfortable seats.
Gah!
There are two Palace Nova cinemas in Adelaide but you can't buy a ticket at one place for an event at the other.
It's inconvenient and the reasoning for the disassociation is daft
Handily located cinema complex in the east of Rundle street, Adelaide City. Several cinemas and good variety of films and sessions throughout the week. Not the first time been here. There is a club card and rewards system in place. Cost of entry for a student is $14 on Saturday night.reasonable. Greeted at the door by helpful staff. 300ml ginger beer and simple choc top commercial ice cream $13. A bit too greedy there sorry. 'Sharpen the pencil' as we say here. As you can see there are only tiny shelves on the chairs in some cinemas and not recesses so it is easy to knock your drink flying. Generally a good time had at the Palace East End
Movie was good, service was decent and the venue was average. Popcorn flavour was very lacking for the price. Still an alright experience if you've got money to throw away
Student discount used to be really good at $8.00 per ticket but recent they increased it to $14.00 (bummer). Used to go there atleat once a month with friends but haven't been there in a while.
The seats are really very comfortable.
Loved the film I went to see. Hepful staff. Haven't been to Films in years, but found the seats extremely uncomfortable and very narrow (& no I'm not big). Had to pull myself up via the seat in front of me.
My other sanctuary in Adelaide. Especially on hot summer days. Besides movies and comfortable chairs, you can get coffee or tea and delicious cakes
Clean and comfortable with a good sound system. New large seats with cup holders and roomy isles. Food and drinks from cafe bar can be taken in to the theatre. Licenced.
I like the location, but ticket service was not helpful. The ticket machine is more interested in stealing your identity than selling a movie ticket and it even throws the ticket on the floor in a final act of terrible customer service.
Been here a few times and never disappointed me yet. The screening rooms are a decent size and the chairs are very comfortable. The snacks are kind of expensive but that's expected of the city.
