Opal Inn Hotel Motel Caravan Park reviews
63Great motel. Great restaurant. Good prices. Highly recommended. Magnificent chicken parmigiana. Seriously, order 1 cut it on half both fed to great satisfaction.
Indian lady at reception courteous & friendly, made me feel welcome. Room clean, spacious. Water, coffee, milk, sugar, electric jug, fridge, tv, a/c.hair-dryer, etc. Clean bedding. Price very reasonable but shower was deal breaker as water ran out after 3 minutes.
Thank you and your friendly, capable staff, especially Scotty, Miro, Daisy and the Chef/s for the service provided for us on the two nights we ate at the Opal Inn. The range, quality, price and freshness of the food was very acceptable (especially considering the remote location). The wine list was also comprehensive and reasonably priced.
We spent two evenings there with 30 people in our group on the first night and 40 on the second. There was a bit of mutual misunderstanding about the desert on first night but the staff worked hard to ensure a good outcome and our guests were none the wiser. We really appreciated the careful effort taken to plan for our second meal (a week later) where the whole evening ran seamlessly and was regarded as a highlight of our trip.
Stayed in the caravan park which was good. Showers and toilets are supplied. We bought a cask of water from the supermarket as water is not supplied with your booking.
First night had to put esky in my room to stop thieves that i caught hanging around car park second night they tryd to break passengers side rear window and dented my door.not very happy. But rooms were ok.
One of the best motels we have stayed in, clean, well appointed and spacious. Great location, friendly, helpful staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND A STAY.
Rm 53 needs shower wall repairs and mould removed and broken tiles around hand basin replaced.
Staff friendly and very helpful, meal in bistro was very enjoyable
Rooms are very old and outdated, in need of maintenance. No service to the room unless you stay more than 3 nights and they blame COVID for this. Unsure what that restriction is about.
Happy with our meals, friendly staff, Scott bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Clean facilities, would definitely go back and recommend it to people
Poorly unfunctional room, not many power points. A sign that states conserve water, then run the water for 10 minutes to get it hot. Surely they can do a better system. Clock radio was broken. And you could hear the neighbours in the bathroom!
Went to try a meal and was in the process of ordering, when another worker came and ever so rudely came up and hounded me about wearing a mask like a wannabe cop, in a room full of people within 1.5m of each other - not wearing masks.
The person who was originally serving me looked dissapointed when I'd pointed out the fact no other customer was wearing a mask, and they clearly didn't need my money. They clearly don't need yours either.
Extremely rude, unprofessional, and unAustralian.
Did lock down here so really couldn't do much. I was in the caravan park. Had toilets and showers. No water but it was across the road along with the dump point. Quiet at night.
We were NEVER offered to have rooms serviced. There is a sign in the rooms stating that the beds would automatically changed after 3 nights. This is not standard protocol as my staff and myself travel extensively and have never come upon this in over 25 years. Not cleaning the rooms is basic hygeine. I very much doubt this is the first complaint about the manager as we heard others in the gaming room and in the restaurant complaining about staff members
Rooms are a bit dated but clean and accommodating for a 1 night stay
Friendly and helpful staff - the adjoining restaurant not to bad either
Conveniently located. Old but clean facilities. No water hookups as water scarce. There is a filling point for water in park.
We had dinner in the restaurant, food was great, staff were very friendly our only concern was that items on the menu were not available which we did not find out about until about 10 minutes after we placed our orders which was disappointing, their were not a lot of people in the restaurant that night and I did not see anyone eating what we ordered so therefore they were not available from the start staff should have been aware of this at the start of the evening. Also there was a sign downstairs for 3 course for a set price, which was not available that night. The food that we had was great.
Spotless amenities! Plenty of room on sites, will stay here again next time we pass through Coober Pedy!
Michael and his team were extremely nice. We really enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend this to everyone. Especially because we checked in late it was hassle free and done over the phone.
This is a combined hotel, motel and caravan park in Hutchison Street, just after the Shell servo as you head towards the main part of town. It's location is convenient; Information Centre, water and dump points across the road.
Great to stay and use WIFI in totally remote area. We were travelling in campervan and its really great to have a shower facilities and park access on cheap price. Thanks so much.it's been great stay.
