Nik's BBQ on The Lake reviews
65Matt was awsome, helped us with shade, table setting and looked after us, the complete team was great! Defs going back, great service, thanks guys! Danny
Beautiful locations by the lake, was lovely sitting outside for our meal. Customer service was amazing and the food was delicious!
Best ABs on Adelaide's Northern Side hands down. Highly recommend their garlic sauce and lamb meat.
The hamburger was made to perfection, so fresh and full of flavour also had a choc milkshake lactose free and that was the best. I’ll be back for sure
My family and I had a dinner tonight and we loved everything in Nik’s bbq places.
The owner was friendly and he definitely knows how business works.
I definitely come back for amazing food and great customer service
We were told its halal. Their chips and salad was really good, but didn’t like the peri-peri chicken. It felt like its not freshly prepared and falafel wraps was dry too.
The food did taste good. However, the price was absolutely insane.
For almost $30 I got 4 pieces of octopus which were about an inch long each. It was served on top of plain iceberg lettuce, 1 cherry tomato and 1 cucumber. It was an absolute joke!
Greeting was good and with a smile, my critique is based upon the prices being charged.
BBQ Beef platter $35 and Greek Salad $16 were ordered.
Salad had exclusively the head of the lettuce. (In my opinion, the worst part)
Beef platter:
Steak overcooked for medium rare, also claiming scotch fillet on the menu when it looked like a random thigh cut. Just say steak fillet rather than over selling on the menu. $26 platter in my opinion.
Lamb cutlets were good.
He was missing ingredients out of the platter and didn't communicate, just relied on me not remembering what was included and hoped I wouldn't notice.
Don’t go
Seafood platter for $30 out of a box … even though I asked was it SA fish
Shocking meat platter
I think it must have been microwaved… palest looking lamb I have ever seen
Oh well never again
Hello all,
Well, how Dissapointed I was with this place.
I have never had a salt and pepper squid cooked so poorly, like rubber!
The salad was also rubbish. Yellow lettuce heart, 1 cherry tomato, 1/2 an olive, plain raw onion.
Didn't make a fuss because I was on a date.
Ironically both myself and my date were ex. Chefs! We laughed after about the awful meal! Hahaha
Expensive food, dips were cheap and gross. Took 20 minutes to make a hot chocolate (they weren't busy) never apologised for the wait. Failed to list the octopus has chilli on it. Didn't feel welcomed even from the owner. Only reason this place gets two stars is because the waitress was nice and hardworking.
Worst Yiros Ever! My partner and I had a craving for one and Niks was the closest open at the time. When we arrived we were a bit skeptical as the place didn’t look the cleanest and neither did the workers but we were willing to give it a chance. When we got our yiros the pita bread was dry and stale, the meat was dry and burnt it tasted old and there was no sauce. It made us feel sick we couldn’t eat it! So disappointed and really shocked at the rest of these reviews!?
My mother spent her last years at the nearby Helping Hand, and Mum always loved coming here. The food was always sensational. One time towards the end, she had a real craving for a bacon and egg roll, and I couldn't find a place in Mawson that made one. I popped into Nik's and asked if they were able to make one, even though it wasn't on the menu. Not only did they promptly comply, but it was absolutely delicious. Real customer service. Thank you!
Ordered a on plate yiros for $32 and a Rump which was the smallest and dryest steak I have seen. Total of order was for $77 and game them $80 hoping that the food was going to be good. Lamb Yiros meat on plate was still frozen. Would give minus stars if I could. Will never go back prefer the Mawson hotel for meals.
Other than not enough tartare sauce the fish and chips I ordered from uber were AMAZING ️ you followed my notes perfectly and I was very happy and full. Maybe just do 2 sauces next time or I can just ask. Keep it up yummy
Last night yiros unbelievable it was so good had to come back to try something else. Even fish and chips was better and at a good price I will be back with others
What a great place to eat ️. My hat off to u Bill and ur beautiful family.made us all feel so comfortable and omg the food.absolutely the best we will be back as ur sign says " come in as strangers leave as friends". So true thanku for a wonderful wonderful dining experience ️
My friends and I have been coming here for years now, and at this point it's a tradition of ours to come in at least once a month and share one of Nik's $25 AB's, before going for a walk around the lake. The food is always delicious! Chips are crunchy, meat is well cooked and they are extremely generous with their portion sizes (with the three of us struggling to finish the whole thing). I've never once been disappointed with the customer service, or food. Great value for what you get here, it's all around the perfect place to visit for a good meal, and in a great location too! Looking forward to the next AB!
Brilliant! Not just deliciously tender meat but fantastic friendly family service, 5 stars all around! The meat platter for 2 is phenomonal, packed with meat full of flavour. Good selection of beers and desserts too, but who are you kidding you’re here for that sweet sweet meat!
After finding Nik’s BBQ via Facebook, we thought it was worth a try. It was a working lunch so we thought it best not to attempt the 2kg steak challenge.
However, we still chose a hefty 500g wagyu steak with an extra fried egg. It was beautifully cooked!
Nice clean premises and top effort - looking forward to returning. Well done Nik and co!
