Montezuma's Mexican Restaurant & Bar - Glenelg, SA

Awful tacos - had chicken and pulled beef and the meat was incredibly dry and unseasoned. The chicken was so dry it was hard. Not to mention the stale STORE BOUGHT tacos (which was confirmed when asked if they were from a packet). Not a very authentic Mexican food place.

Arrived without a booking, no problem pick any table we were told. Tried 3 tables, all were sticky. As this was not very encouraging we decided to try entrees first before committing to a main.
Nachos were delicious but the chicken Tacos tasted like they were left over from lunch and reheated, dry meat and a withered salad.
A pleasant waitress who took our orders was no longer pleasant when realising we were leaving still hungry and there would be no tip. I actually had to ask what the amount was before swiping my card.

Tables dirty when it wasn't busy, doesn't take much for a wipe down, Food wasn't great

Coming from Cali so high standards on Mexican. The place wasn’t too bad but they had a weird salad on everything with broccoli and carrots etc.which doesn’t mix well with Mexican flavors. Beyond that it just wasn’t very flavorful. It had no heat so I ordered the habanero sauce but that was extreme heat with no flavor. A good hot sauce should have a balance of flavor and heat.

Staff were all super friendly, food was amazing! Vegan Menu and non-alcoholic sangria was delicious

Drinks are good and highly recommend the lemon margarita. Service was good but was hard to hear what the food was and get your order. The food came out fairly quickly since there was 28 of us. Very noisy and hard to hear the person next to you.

In the past this place has been quite a pleasant quick meal spot with good atmosphere. The atmosphere is still good but both dishes were wet. For my Nachos it did not matter too much but it made the Tacos challenging to eat and unappealing. The pic shows the filling litterally leaking out the soggy bottom of the taco shell. Hopefully this place bounces back.

Dinner on Saturday night. Made a booking online but the restaurant never received it so be careful when making the booking. Got told we can sit anywhere we like but 10 minutes later were told to move as they had that table reserved for another group. Sat waiting for someone to take our order for 10 mins or even acknowledge us. Once ordered, meals took 35-40 minutes to come out. Ordered a starter and main but all came out at the same time which is super annoying. Meals were nice but the overall experience could be much better.

Sorry to say but that was the worst food i ever had.
Rice dry, beans look like there for the last 2h in that plate. Don't call you a traditional Mexican please.
Never again.

We really enjoyed our experience here! It was very quiet when we went and we were seated quickly and got food quickly. Food was a little expensive $52 for 2 drinks and 2 entrees however we did enjoy our experience here. The entrees we got were the Guacamole and quesadilla and it was big enough to share between the two of us! The strawberry margarita was great!

Good fresh food and plenty of it. Friendly staff. Will return.

Not a fan of Mexican food. This place was recommended to us by a friend. So glad we gave it a go. The pork enchilada was amazing. The staff were excellent and very friendly. Book a table you wont be dissapointed.

Great Mexican restaurant with over 20 year experience.
They cater for everyone. Separate kids menu with kids eat free Monday to Thursday Lunch and Dinner.
They also have a separate menu catering for vegetarians and vegans.
Must book on weekends as they get very busy.

The food is always great, quite an eclectic ambience. They have an excellent vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menu which is amazing as there's not many places that my group of friends can all go to at once!

Combination meal ok. Taco small, corn chips for Chili con carne 3 only. $3 for a thimble sized dish of sour cream. It's the small things that matter.

Had lunch at Montezuma's today.
As usual it was really tasty.
The delivery time to our table was extremely fast. Surprised me.
The Shredded Beef Burrito with Side Salad was great. Mmmmm.

The food was very average, some cold.overcrowded and couldn't hear your own table talk, definitely better places out there however the customer service was great.

The look of the restaurant was pretty cool. Bright yellow inside with colours that give off a Mexican feel. However, the food left a lot to be desired. It could be improved, but we still left with a full stomach. A simple Mexican restaurant - it would not be my first choice though. The big appeal is it being in Glenelg and therefore close to the beach.
