Lakes Hotel

Very clean. Friendly staff. Good location. Great view of the lake. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Has a few very good restaurants in the building as well.

We walked in Friday afternoon after a hard day of work. My friend, brother and I stood at the bar waiting to be served.we had in the space of a couple of minutes the floor manager and 2 bar staff completely walk past us without a hello or any acknowledgement, not even "hello there well be right with you. " It wasn't even busy, Infact it was extremely quiet. We wanted a meal, but instead after feeling so uncomfortable we had our 1 drink and left. Im a local and I have been for 10 years. The above is poor customer service.

The Lakes Resort

Nice night out for a meal and drinks over shadowed by eztermely rude customer service. Pre booked a time and table for 15 people days in advance for a birthday dinner, paid cakage, meet early for pre drinks only to be seated at 2 separate tables, clearly visible to all attending the dinner that there was more than enough room to combine the tables and be seated as one group, we asked staff if we could please do so, staff were extremely reluctant to do so stating there was not enough room and would impact mobility around the tables for staff, after instsing 3 times, they eventually decided to do so (ultimately creating more room for staff to move than original lay out). One of the staff members was etremely rude and just did not want to accommodate our requested, snapping at everyone, slamming things down on the tables and storming off in a huff after the 1-2 minute table shuffle was complete. Had no name tag on but gave her name as Taylor after asked repeatedly for her name (which I'm guessing is flase),
Meals and company were great, but this young waitress spoiled the night for most and probably chose the wrong industry to work in for her personality.

Hospitality must mean something different these days to what I was taught.

Beautiful and tasty meal with a large serve great service and lovely staff. Great atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Beef schnitzel was excellent. Please please put an effort into your salads. A handful of boutique lettuce with a few add_ons is really not that inspiring. Bring back the good old days.

My rating is just for the location, which is fantastic and the room service, which was quick and delicious.

But everything else is so not 4 star at this hotel, unless my hospitality degree fails me and the definition of 4 star has changed.

Pros:
- Views from the room
- Size of room
- Balcony in every room
- Speed of room service and food itself (room service only)
- Rooms were very clean

Cons:
- Staff were not friendly, we didn't even get asked if our stay was good when we checked out. Ermm elementary no, Watson?
- Omg the breakfast was awfullllll. We got B&B and only ate breakfast once. The coffee we had one sip of and it was set aside, scrambled eggs? More like scrambled milk (if you didn't get that, there was so much milk in the eggs, it was almost white). And bacon was cooked in a lot of oil! Who cooks bacon in oil? Breakfast was so not 4 star, its like they had their trainee chefs on duty almost?
- the rooms, furnishing, carpets and everything is very very dated
- minor gripe but why are there no bins in the entrance or car park? We were confused.
- there needs to be another option for people who don't have credit cards other than cash. Come on.

Would we stay here again? Probably not.

Nice place to stay and has a really good restaurant. Nice lake right outside the window. Plenty of parking. Rooms were clean.

I like the vibe of the lakes. Neat and fancy with good food. Bar staff a bit lacking and unable to apply knowledge which is a bit of a let down, more training certainly needed. Staff really create an additional atmosphere which would be appreciated here.

Very clean and great service. Food is great as well. Love being on the top floor. View in the morning is amazing.

Very disappointed I order the senior special of Crumbed Whiting which arrived undercooked and poorly presented. I sent it back only to find the same issue the coating was so thick on the fish that it wasn't cooked inside. There were no
vegetarian options on the specials and no gluten free options.

Staff are always friendly and the food is of good quality, our go to is the roast. Not cheap, but worth the price.

Have just attended a birthday party there. We had a great room and the food was terrific. Very good staff too. A great night.

Birthday dinner. Group of 10 of us, meals were good. Reasonably priced with a minimal salad bar. Good atmosphere, would go again

Having patronised the lakes restaurant many many times for years, always reasonable - nothing to moan about.

What a pity then when our visits recently (early 2019) have been a disappointment from some of the female bar staff several times - who clearly feel that offering simple service should be ignored and offer instead "attitudinal indifference with surliness". Backed up with bloodyminded rhetoric when standards are questioned.

One hopes the managers interventions upon complaining have an effect and not just patronisation.

Great food wonderful service but th tables were a bit cramped we were banging into people when getting in n out of our chairs very uncomfortable

Absolutely loved this place, probably one of the finest hotel's i have been in Australia, and that's saying something. The staff are exceptional, I watched the hotel manager clean and wait table's. On asking about that he replied " I like to lead by example"

We found Lakes Resort to be luxurious, comfortable, peaceful and friendly. Very well priced and breakfast was delicious with great variety and included in the price. The view was beautiful. Very clean and easy to find. Special thanks to the barman who went out of his way to help us. All in all, a great Experience.

You cant go wrong with this place. Beautiful clean rooms with some wonderful views, excellent facilities, delicious eating options and close to shopping and entertainment venues. Add some amazing package deals and this will become your perfect stay.

Good service, staff friendly very helpful only downside is the service next door at the knot restaurant, staff didn't know the prices of menu special and seem lack of interest serving customers but overall good experience

Attended a wedding here and stayed in a second floor room. Was good value with a buffet breakfast and accomodation for 4 people for $234. Nice bar and restaurant, good water view from room and lovley friendly staff in both check in and restaurant. Staff did a good job on the wedding venue room and were friendly and helpful.
