Lakes Hotel reviews
61I was so looking forward to going here for a meal but was very disappointed all 3 of our meals were below average. The karage chicken was very dry and small. The Singapore noodles were salty i couldn't even eat them. I'm actually really scared to go here again to eat. Maybe go here for a drink but not food.
Me and my partner had an unexpected layover flight in Adelade.
Booked here with short notice and the serive we had during our stay was exceptional,
Front of house was very accomadating and all over service is outstanding.
I can recommend this for anyone wishing to stay in a comfortable apartment exceeding all our expectations for a great price.
Room was neat and clean
Can't recommend enough.
Food was delivered timely to our suite and was amazing.
Thanks guys. Made our unexpected stay a great experience
Spent our Anniversary night there last night as we love to stay here. The rooms all have balconies that you can sit out watch the activities on the water as well as watching the sunset. Couldn’t speak more highly of the staff. We also received a bottle of champagne to our room for our Anniversary quit unexpected but much appreciated. Thank you again for that. Will definitely be back as this is our favourite hotel & accommodation.
Never considered the Lakes Hotel as a restaurant destination, thought it was a relic from 1970s Delfin development. Boy was I wrong! The dining room and lounge/bar area is filled with natural light from the huge clean glass windows looking west over the water. Meals were superb and reasonably price. Sensational spot with great outlook.
We stayed on 2 separate occasions and loved the rooms, the views, the location and the service. We rated Lakes Resort Hotel as the best value for money accommodation during our Adelaide holiday where we stayed at a number of other motels as we travelled around. Would definitely come back and stay here again.
I saw a yellow spongy moist squirrel in the pool and I told the kids it was the real spongebob squarepants and they started crying. Apparently, it was a 12 year old asian boy with a name starting with s. Also, a random white woman started. "playing" with him and another was barking loud. Wouldn't recommend if you dont like short asian boys molesting you. 5/5
Good value for money. Received a free upgrade which was great but really not impressed with the $100 deposit that is taken from your account upon booking which takes a week to go back into your account. I made mention of this when booking in and was told that if I made a purchase from the hotel and billed it back to the room the deposit would be released a lot quicker back into my bank so I did that and have currently been waiting 6 days to receive the deposit back. In this day and age when times are as tough as they are spending a night in a hotel is a luxury that not everyone can afford. You are just making it even harder by adding that extra money onto the transaction that takes a week or more to get back.
A busy and well situated multi-purpose venue. Have a drink, buy a good meal, watch the sunset over the lake or use one of the special purpose rooms for a special event Top marks.
Amazing food - you must try the prawn dumplings at knots kitchen. The most helpful and friendly staff, especially Mikyla at front desk who went above and beyond to change our booking upon arrival as we had accidently booked the wrong dates.
Chose downstairs for the view, but blinds down and would put them up. (Sunset 1.5hrs away)
Pork n bacon wok meal very tasty. Pork roast meat tender, but veggies only warm - turn baymarie up!
The Lakes Resort Hotel never fails to deliver.
From the welcoming team at reception, the immaculate accommodation, the high quality meals, the water views & pleasant staff, this hotel ticks all of the boxes.
We stayed for a few days to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
Many thanks for making our visit an outstanding memory.
Great budget meals in a lovely location. Roast and ice cream are always winners. Cocktail bar has a tiny cocktail drinks menu. Needs some work there.
Doesn’t deserve a star.
1. Noisy air conditioning from the next room that is loud and vibrates kept me awake. When I complained night manager showed no care or empathy. Moved rooms at midnight. I was there on a business trip
Attending a business function. Help Facilitate a 12 hour conference on 5 hours sleep.
2. Moved to a smaller room smaller bed.
3 Blood stain on the quilt cover.
4. Food is average.
5. On checking out there was no apologies for the inconvenience. I had to be the one to ask for a discount. Received $50 off my bill.
6. Emailed manager with my complaints. It’s been a week and no reply.
Never stay here again will be spreading the word to avoid. No customer service no customer care. Disgraceful.
The obvious selling point of this Hotel Resort is the views. The very old Paul Getty saying “ Location Location “, fits like a glove here.
Personally I had not been to the Cocktail Lounge Restaurant for years.
I went in August 2021 by myself, after a sad passing away of a family member.
Not familiar with the prices, or the different Cocktails, I asked the Bartender.
He was in some state of frantic hurriedness, with a Party of many gathering for a Wake.
My 1 person Patronage at $15.00 for a medium straight up glass of some unmemorable Cocktail was not, to me, worth his time.
I paid.
Sat by the Selling Point glorious view of the lengthy lake, and waited for my over priced Cocktail.
I waited.
Then waited some more.
I use a walking stick, no special treatment expected, yet it was an annoyance to me, to need to shuffle up to the bar, flag down a totally different man, while the one whom I had paid, was busying himself.
This man knew nothing of my order, let alone that I had already paid.
So with gritted teeth I repeated myself.
Then went to sit down again.
There were maybe 6-7 people including myself of Customers.
I waited again.
My Cocktail thus arrived!
A none eventful glass. With nothing special or exotic about it, arrived.
So don’t go there for Cocktails.
And don’t go there if you are by yourself.
As your patronage is disregarded.
It’s the BIG orders that gets their attention.
You could have lost your whole family and gone there, alone, for Solace and a view of God’s beauty, and been ignored.
Over priced.
Favouritism.
No personal Service.
This was my experience. And I will not go again.
Really good food and reasonable prices. You have to try the from the wok menu really delicious.
The room was a little bit grubby. Could have been cleaner. Spa jets left brown residue in the water. Some soft drinks etc in the minibar would be good. I ordered wedges and chicken wings through room service thinking it would be quick to arrive. Took 1.5 hours! Food was good and staff very polite and friendly. Room could use a coat of paint and some cracks in walls and rough patches on the ceiling need fixing.
This place is very old and tired. FOXTEL channels are there but not broadcasting. Gym and pool are a mixed room. Be prepared to exercise with screaming kids in pool. Staff are cordial but not friendly. Extended our checkout to 11 which was nice. Amenities are minimal and the room is quirky. It’s just somewhere to sleep. Breakfast was included and pretty good.
Mr Neptune's, awesome! Sensational value, brilliant menu/food. BIG screen, friendly helpful staff with a smile. Room is modern and clean. Buzzing Saturday atmosphere, very recommended. Well worth a look
EDIT* A bartender gave me an espresso Martini for $15 with grey goose on a busy night. I spent extra as thanks.
The bloke in the last photo however wanted extra money with no viable excuse for the same thing on a dead quiet night. Knocked a star off because that sucked Mr Neptune's bar bloke
This is an old hotel which has its ups and downs. Up - nice balcony, good air conditioning, renovated along the way. However, there is a direct view into the next hotel room on the balcony, walls are thin and why is the fridge and coffee area in the cupboard? The breakfast was quite good though and included. If you’re looking to kill some hours like we are before a flight there’s a giant shopping centre and movie cinema and plenty of places to walk. It’s fine. It’s comfortable and it’s convenient. It’s not the worst place I’ve stayed by far. As I said, it’s fine.
Was overcharged at the drive though, paided by card, would recommend everybody to ask for a receipt, and check before you drive of,
