Lake Albert Caravan Park, Meningie SA reviews
59 Lake Albert is a brilliant camping site which we enjoyed thoroughly. The amenities are of a very high standard and well maintained. Although we stayed here for only one night, I am sure one can make a good holiday and build memories here with family and friends.
The "no contact", "no human reception", on arrival was a first ever for us and it felt rather bad not to be greeted and received with a smile. But, I suppose this is the result of Covid, although other parks deploy ample measures to ensure safety of staff as well as visitors in respect of Covid regulations.
But apart from this single negative encounter, it is a fabulous camping site.
This has to be one of those gems that you stumble across. Grassy large sites, great clean showers and the view of Lake Albert is fantastic. All helped by a fantastic restaurant just across from the park entrance. Coorong mullet and
a glass of beautiful Langhorne Creek wine rounded out a perfect stay.
One of the most tranquil places and settings you will find in South Australia! An amazing place to stay and unwind! 10/10
Top shelf, i usually blaze on through meningie, everything is great at this park, right on lakefront, lush grass is available, flash cabins, top camp kitchen, every camping option too like powered tent sites.would stay again, about 1km from town centre.
We have a beautiful lake front powered caravan site for three nights. Check in was fast. Facilities are very clean. We are very happy. The views are stunning and the bird life wonderful
Lovely caravan park that is clean and tidy. Stayed in a cabin & enjoyed my stay.camp kitchen is good.ideal for a few days as a base exploring the Coorong
Nice little park, we had a powered site on the river side. Was able to get the washing done late at night which was a huge help to us. They have pelicans hanging around to get a feed of the carp you can fish for. A little bit of soft lighting (even solar) around the river would make it a little safer. Also I was glad my kids didn’t catch any carp as you have to deal with disposal via cutting a feeding to pelicans if they’re around.
Really good facilities well situated on the bank of the lake. Clean ablutions and a funky camp kitchen. Only downside was that it was comparatively a little pricey for the powered sites and there are lots of signs everywhere telling us how to and how not to behave.
Beautiful park, very quiet & peaceful,
beautiful green lawns & extremely clean toilets & showers, the pelicans are very entertaining with there syncerinised swimming technics.
Went for a quiet getaway, and that's exactly what we had. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend to all.
Cabins neat and tidy, grounds well maintained.
Given some family lived here we had not previously stayed here. Needed a place to stay to break a long journey and chose this place for a couple of nights. Loved the location. Facilities clean and obviously well maintained. Owners very accommodating. We will be back again for a longer stay.
Neat, tidy, not busy, but really p###ed off at their booking strategy. Booked by phone and charged $39 per night. Queried this on site as advertised fees were $35, told that the extra was because I booked by phone, and the extra $4 is per NIGHT. What a rip off. Not happy. Won't be back.
Such a peaceful and quiet place to relax on the banks of Lake Albert. Facilities are very good. It is close to many scenic places to visit, plus Meningie town where you can top up your supplies if needed.
Excellent place to stay, all year round. Amenities are always clean and the park always looks great. The lawns are very well maintained. Owners take a lot of pride in the park.
We stayed here for work last week. Although the weather was miserable, we really enjoyed our stay.
The park is immaculate and very well looked after and the view over the lake is awesome. We would love to come back for a holiday and not have to work the whole time.
This is a great park on the lake and walking distance to shops. Stayed 8 nights due to lockdown. If the weather was better it would have been more pleasant. We had constant rain and wind. Park owners very friendly and accommodating
Great park BUT. Horrible, disgraceful incident with paraletically drunk staff member running park ute in to my Cousins new ute on the Saturday night
Amazing park and a great spot on the lake. My only negative is we would have loved a cabin for the night but there was a 2 night minimum. I understand that money is lost to us overnighters but most of the cabins remained empty being mid week and I feel if they had said check back in by 5pm if we have a free cabin it’s yours then they would have made more money than waiting longer for a potential booking. It’s a real gamble that didn’t pay off that night. But again beautiful park just feedback.
Nice and well maintained park, with clean, well equipped amenities and kitchen. We are unpowered tent campers and were disappointed that these, along with the firepits were more suited in proximity to the caravan sites. It was quite a walk to the firepit, lugging firewood, chairs, drinks etc, particularly at night. A portaloo and more accessible firepit would be a welcome addition to the tent camping sites. Overall, we had a lovely, relaxed stay, thankyou.
Great place to stay. Sites right on the shore of lake Albert. Even caravan site. All very clean and helpful people. Jim
