Harvey Norman Marion reviews
62 We had a few back to back poor experiences with Harvey Norman. The first being a purchase of a $1500 sofa that came with a $180 gift card.this helped with the purchase price as we had other things we wanted to purchase. Unfortunately we weren't told that the gift card had a one month expiry! They also don't give you the gift card at the time of purchase, it arrives in the mail, so it's up to you to read the small print.
The second issue was the purchase of an $800 solid wood coffee table that when we got it home, was a completely different quality to the one on the floor. This was clearly a fault of the manufacturer, quality control, call it what you like, so another trip to Harvey Norman to return and get a refund. We actually felt sorry for the staff who seemed to empathise that the gift card had a ridiculously short expiry date, and that the table was clearly substandard, but unfortunately they don't seem to have the authority to make things right for the customer. It seems that what used to be a customer friendly store have let their standards slide.
It's a big store, but they are frequently severely understaffed and poorly organised. I often have to wait long times until a vendor is available. Last time I waited for 53 minutes and they still sold me the wrong product. I had to go back to the store to revert the sale and wait for 5 business days until my money was refunded to buy the correct one. So, maybe triple check before buying if they are giving you the right stuff.
I had a great experience here. It is all the truth! Customer service was outstanding from the staff in the whitegoods area. Assisted my elderly mother and I with a faulty new appliance - a disaster for anyone let alone an ageing mother. Can't be happier. Photo of old and new oven (to be installed of course!)
Great customer service. Alex found me the perfect digital photo frame and made sure to price match to the best price for me. Quick and easy check out process!
A good place to go to for all your home ware items and electronic stuff staff are friendly and helpful
The furniture store staff are rude and only interested if you are making a purchase.when you try to make a warranty claim they dont want to know you.make sure you get extended warranty on everything cos most of it is junk
Searching for a kettle to replace my broken one. Salesperson was very helpful and polite with choosing a new kettle suitable for my purposes.
Please go anywhere else than this place. No customer service at all, so unhelpful. Wanted to buy a laptop but the couldn’t be bothered. I had to travel to Mount Barker to get one, when the Marion one, is 10 minutes away.
We went to look at lounge suites. The salesperson. Andrew.was very helpful and answered all our questions but also gave us space to feel out the lounges. Not pushy at all and that is why we ended up purchasing from him.plus the lounge was comfy
Customer service is great. And poke about my needs and how to accommodate my lounge in the size of the room.
Purchased a dining suite and had delivered. When it was received the table was damaged and the bottom of one of the chairs was damaged. Rang the store immediately. Was told to upload a photo and provide details online. Received an automated response email saying it wouldn't be looked at for 3 to 5 days and would have to wait up to 14 days to have it rectified. Called the store again as I did not want to wait 14 days as the reason I purchased it was because it was available immediately and I had gotten rid of my old suite. The proprietor, Bruce was rude and arrogant and did not offer an apology or offer to replace the damaged items even though they were in stock. Had to deal with 2 other members of his staff who were also rude and obnoxious. The other departments at Marion have always been friendly and helpful. Thank you to noarlunga store for going out of their way in helping me get a new suite. Only given 1 star because I can't give a negative.
SERVICE WAS GOOD BUT DO NOT TELL TRUTH ABOUT HOW LONG YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR FURNITURE TELL YOU WITHIN A FEW WEEKS STILL WAITING BACK FROM AUGUST AND STILL NO DINNING ROOMS CHAIRS NO ONE REPLYS WHEN THEY SAY WILL REPLY WITHIN 48HOURS LAST TIME EVER BUY FROM THIS STORE ALWAYS HAVE EXCUSE WHEN RING SHOP ELSEWHERE IF YOU WANT BETTER SERVICE
Photo Centre experience has been better in the past, weekend staff don't seem to be as clue-y as they could be with photo printing.
After 45 minutes wait for help the best I could get was a photo that was cut-off and no practical solution offered.
In store service was fantastic, went to the store for collection and waited for over 35 minutes to get our microwave. I was told they could not find it and when they found it then I was told it was high up on the rack.
I noted on the packaging that they had only received the microwave 6 weeks ago so it sounds to me like their location system is not working and they also need another picking lift for stock high on the racks.
The man to see at Marion is Andrew, excellent old fashioned service, no pressure excellent communication
Stood around for long time until I got some service.
Even then it appeared I was a inconvinance to them
Ive had great experiences at Harvey Norman, thats why its my go to. However the last time I purchased a computer, I found the salesperson very patronising! I also found that because of the intent on upselling, basic things that should have been done was missed. I was a little disappointed and I found them quite aggressive in the upselling and then you could see they werent happy when I said no. I was then asked if I had had a stressful day! However, on a positive note Josh the computer tech was fabulous and couldnt be more helpful
Pushly sales lady
Who in there right mind would sign up to a phone plan in theres wifes name so that you could get the latest sumsang phone.
Especially when the people they want u to sign up to doesnt even have any service there.
Yeah no.
It’s a large store. But electric department feel crowded compared to their furniture department. There are a lot of sale person in the store, but my experiences are you don’t often get a good deal from them. They often don’t have a good knowledge of their product price on the market. When I went to other store, a lot of sales person began to do their homework to research their product price on internet. So when I am asking for a price match, they would provide same information matching my expectation. I don’t get this at Harvey Norman. Sales person aren’t very flexible with the deal. Over past few years, I often check prices (what’s the lowest they could offer) from Harvey normal and get a better deal from other places.
Exceptional customer service from Pero, Dusan and Shanti, they were both extremely helpful and polite. My customer experience was exactly what you would expect at a retailer. Well done!
