Great place to have lunch or tea and you get your money worth for your meal.different day they different meals on special.

We have been to the restaurant many times and over that time the service and food has been very good. However last Saturday evening was a disaster from the time we entered. We (5 people in our party) had to wait ages to be shown to our table. When we went to place our order, again another long wait. When i went to order drinks there was only 1 couple in front of me, but because there is no drinks menu on the table, they took ages to work out what they wanted. As there was only one person on the bar i had to wait ages and eventually someone came from the other bar. In the meantime a singer had started which was far too loud, my partner asked for the sound to be reduced, but she was told that as it was live music, nothing could be done. (I thought every artist used an amplifier these days!) We had ordered some garlic bread which eventually arrived. I thought our main meal would not be too long after that - I was totally wrong. We arrived at our table at 7.00pm, at 8;15 our meal had still not arrived. I went and queried what was happening, I was told "it's on the way" and they had been very busy. I looked around the restaurant and half of the tables were empty - so much for being busy. Our meals arrived eventually at 8.30. I had ordered kangaroo, it was so lightly done it was so chewy I could only eat half of it. The rest of the meals were average. We were offered free drinks after I queried where our meal was (we refused because we were so fed up with the wait). We were also given 2 $20.00 vouchers to use at the hotel in the future. On the service we received it is very unlikely we will return to use them.

A great restaurant my steak was perfect exactly as i asked for it to be cooked the salads and vegies were fresh and plenty of variety. And they make the best cocktails. We were there for our xmas party and had a great night, the staff were attentive and friendly couldnt ask for a more perfect night

First time eating at the Hampstead Hotel. The meal came out fast, tasted great and visually well presented. The service was so good, especially the girl serving (Toni), she was so friendly, listened to me talk about my day and made my partner and I feel like regulars would highly recommend

Enjoyable Melbourne Cup Day. Good fun with the sweeps and best dressed competition. Backe the winner and second in the sports bar. Only downer was being told by a staff member that you didn, t consider seniors cards where it clearly states on line that there are seniors lunches. Food was very good and ample serves, and served very quickly. Graham.

Quality of meal poor and pricey, presentation was terrible, will not be going back or recommending

It is improving slowly. If you have a bad back and are elderly it's wise to take a cushion for the chair.

Food was apoorling considerate what you can eat other stores at least you could go back for more never again I was gonna celebrate my birthday but got better conceptions to go else where

Great improvement from first visit. Toni who is front of house most days makes this hotel pub grub visit 4 stars.

Great hotel, fantastic friendly staff, games room needs an update and places to put your drinks down (and to place plates of their awesome starter dishes) while playing. Had a great impromptu stop in.

Food was great, but the delay between ordering and receiving our meals was crazy.more than 1 and a half hours (also we had booked our table, but was one seat short. Waitress was asked to assist, but ended up having to find our own.

This was a horror experience! Encouraged to use the internet to order, staff didn't know how to use it properly so we couldn't order drinks & meals at the same time even though the ability to do that was available. Meals took forever, came out cold, one was incorrect, one meal could only be classed as slop. With the exception of that meal & the fact they were cold all other meals tasted OK hence the 1 star. Would I go back? Not in a hurry if at all.

I am a 71man and got asked for my drivers licence to have a drink. Additionally, after two glasses of wine I was told I have had to much. This place is a joke the staff are obnoxious. The drinks and food are over priced. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Trying to get cutlery to butter our rolls seemed like an impossible feat I asked the waitress 3 times in a 30 minute period for knives. Also when the meal arrived the side dish I requested took 45 mins to arrive and I had finished my meal.
I would hate to see how you cope when it is busy. Won't be back

Oh my! The place truly need a renovation to keep up to the 20th Century! I only gave 2 only because the staff are nice. If not for that, I'll rate them "0". Oh dear the food is one of the crappiest food I ever had! I had roast beef and it's so dry and much worse ia more than half of it is just fat.fat.fat that can't be chewed and eaten! The salad from the buffet are all bland and no taste.no taste at all! The pepper squid my partner ordered is chewy like a bubble gum and salty. If you order through the QR code they got on the table you'll have a discount on your meal. It should be free! Because their food is tasteless and not eatableat all!

Bistro meal for 7 friends Frid 13 Aug. Nice venue with busy sports bar and seperate bistro with lounge area and outdoor section. Staff friendly enough. Meals satisfactory. Pasta serves a little small but delicious. Generous complimentary salad and hot vegetable servery accompanying main meals. Good Covid safety measures in venue and service delivery. Quite busy on a Frid night. Another SA hotel venue doing it's very best during a challenging time.

Spirits were not poured to proportion were half what you pay for and a scotch and coke which was 90% coke 10% scotch not measured $10.20. Beer was decent $8.20 for a super dry pint. Staff were rude would not recommend 6/10
