Hampstead Hotel reviews
73Had Xmas lunch and cos $128 entree oysters don't eat them and as for the meat leaf looked and tasted like canned dog food. Baked potatoes carrots were all cold. Ham looked as tho it had been cut and layered for 2 plus days as top had gone dry and hard.desserts would have been good except placed 3 per plate and would have been better if the custard was served in a jug. Won't ever go again disappointing
Average. Lack of customer service and friendliness. Also booking online didn't work for me, still had to ring up!
I was last here 4 years ago and was not a very happy customer at all. Today the quality of the food was great. They have a different chef now and this one can do a tender schnitzel and a decent burger. All customers need is good quality food, well done.
Four years ago.
Seriously awful. Just had part of lunch there. Inedible. Parma for a Farmer, made from poorest cuts of meat. The schnitzel was like rubber, I couldn't cut it with a knife, without sawing at it so hard that food was knocked off the plate.
Salad/ veg bar open again. Food always good quality and value for money. Staff always friendly.
Staff are very helpful and polite, l went there for my $20 voucher from the pokie luckily l don't at the pokies on the way out, bonus! The meal was fresh and not long to wait but the salad bar vegetables were lukewarm.
Good seniors menu at $17.95, for lunch, with salad and vegetable bar included.
Fast service, good food and good pub ambience.
HH is a food and bar hotel, not accommodation. A great venue for a quick drink or a full-blown dinner date. Cheers
I was at the Hampstead Hotel Bistro Bar for lunch. I had a chicken parmi and it was huge! It tasted great! The salad and veg bar had a small but varied selection which tasted great! The staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. I really enjoyed my experience!
Had lunch here yesterday & was very impressed, fantastic rump steak, loved the atmosphere in the dining room coz the floor is carpeted so ambient noise levels were comforting. Also was very impressed with the staff, especially Taylah, she looked after us with such professionalism & friendliness, I fully recommend this establishment.
I was excited when I heard that the veggie bar was back but sorely disappointed that only half of it was back - chunks of pumpkin, over-cooked peas, carrots with slightly too much honey, small potatoes and a potato bake which was the nicest thing at the veggie bar. There was no rice, noodles or vegetable bake. The menu couldn't have been more generic - pretty much only burger, schnitzel, salad, steak or seafood - not a patch on previous menus, which, incidentally have not been updated on their website. They had run out of beef schnitzel, beef burger and prawns which cut the choices almost in half. I ended up having to make a choice from the specials which ended up being chicken and mushroom pie. Served with mash and runner beans it cost $32. The inside of the pie did not have a nice thick sauce but when I cut into the pie all the watery liquid drained out onto the plate. I get much better pies from the frozen food section at the supermarket. The mash was delicious though. The service was brilliant but it was overall a massive disappointment. Until The Hampstead has new management, a new menu, a new chef and returns to its former glory, I will not be returning or recommending this establishment
Had to wait over an hour for our meals. Meals weren't what we ordered ie grilled prawns instead of prawn cutlets and a well done steak instead of medium. Would not recommend.
Saturday lunch and minimal staff on. It took an hour to get our tables (14) meals, well after several other tables who were seated long after we ordered. Service staff poorly trained, putting plates on top of items on the table, etc.
Went for dinner and the food was way below average. Chips ordinary and lacked good seasoning and crunch. While the steak was chewy and needed the fat to be rendered. The vegetable and salad bar disappointing. No seasoning or dressing provided for the salads provided and the vegetables seemed like it was there for a while.
Only positive note was the service. The waiters were friendly and patient:).
Overall, a real miss and not worth the price. Will not be returning
Love it.fantastic sports bar with multiple screens.food, staff great.great happy hour prices Sunday arvo to watch the footy. Ethan bloody food barman!
Very helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Huge selection of meals & the salad & vegie bar. Very nice decor & easy parking. Will definately be going back.
This place has really gone down hill with its service. Young girl working tonight in gambling room was not friendly at all. Did not acknowledge that there was someone there waiting to take money out - like she was too busy. The workers in the gaming room really need to work on their social skills. Put patrons first - they are paying your wages!
Loved this place. Its big and spacious. The food is excellent. They also have seniors meals which is great. A separate vegetable and salad bar. Fantastic desserts and coffees. I'll be going there again soon.
Oh my goodness! Went to lunch today at this pub which is located on the corner of North East & Hampstead Roads. Unfortunately everyone, apart from one person, sitting at my table did not enjoy their lunch. I had a Thai dish with strips of crispy beef with vermicelli noodles. Don’t even bother thinking that this dish is what you’d get at a Thai restaurant…it’s not! I should learn my lesson having Thai food at pubs!? ! Besides mine, the others at the table did not enjoy their meal as well. The grilled fish was about 4 inches long with a large dob of lumpy mashed potatoes. The chips were overcooked, one person took one bite of their salt & pepper calamari & left the rest…if the HH want ppl to return then they need better chefs & decent food…don’t waste your $’s! Go somewhere else!
The food use to be open to all diet now it seems like they went alittle to fancy, the open plan is great also for before covid but I think it could be redesigned to not have the children by the door, I just wanted to eat some red meat and salad with my mother when I sat down the bread rolls where hot and delicious but sadly that means the meat is 40 dollar minimum and that's means it better be delicious. I couldn't take the chance and decided to leave sadly as the prices where all way out of what I could afford
Good night out with family and friends. Everyone was happy with their meals great variety salad and veggie bar. The magician was great something different. Friendly staff definitely be back
