Granite Island Recreation Park reviews
60It has breathtaking views. Wanted to have Icecream after walk, but no kiosk was open as they said it close till summer. However it was a pleasant walk to the top of the hill.
Probably the highlight of Victor Harbor, Granite Island offers a scintillatingly natural experience. The rocks are remarkable in their shaping but the best part is indubitably the amazing views of the sea. In addition, the Horse Drawn Tram is also excellent. On the top of everything, visiting the island itself is free, making it a fantastic attraction.

If you like to walk & explore, this is a great place with wonderful views and various sculptures.
It's a great walk, always plenty of wildlife to see and so picturesque! Maybe the dodgy artwork should go though.so out of place!
Beautiful sceneries. Kaiwi loop around the island is enjoyable and has sculptures along the way.
Nice for a day trip at Granite island. They may not have lots of penguins but the volunteers are all very passionate and enthusiastic.
Perfect place for a walk with young and old. The loop around the island gives you stunning views and the kids loved climbing the granite boulders.
One big rock good place for a walk if careful you can see small penguins in the rocks nice walk across jetty joining the Island.
Just magnificent. If you are lucky you might see a wild penguin.
Did you know that Gold was found on Granite Island in 1866?
Very serene place for a good walk where we can enjoy the view from each side of the Iceland. There are lots of spots for photography. Iceland has beautiful drawing on benches all around the trail. A must visit place
We just had to try the horse powered tram when leaving to granite island from Victor harbour. The island itself was a very nice and quite place for morning/afternoon walk. Beautiful place. We did not see any penguins there, but merely for not going at the right time.
Amazing experience seeing the little penguins come out of the water and scurry to their burrowed. Plenty of possums too Well worth the $25
Easy enough walk for semi old people don't really get the idea of the sculptures I think it interferes with the natural environment
With the horse-drawn tram out of action at the moment it's an easy walk across to the island. The water underneath is 100% clear! Once on the island the walkways are fantastic, with plenty of info boards to explain things. Great if you're a nature watcher. A local feature not to miss when at Victor Harbor.
An island linking to Victor harbour. But actually there nothing much to see on this island. But still a good place for hiking.
It's like lost into the other world. Walking on the tram line to the island is definitely an unique experience. With a bit effort of hiking you will see lots of breathtaking spots. Good place to chill as well as to fish. They have carmel riding with affordable price which is $10 per head. Highly recommend.
Loved cafe /restaurant very nice food. Had loaded chips delicious. Calamari various other meals had by family.scrumptious. Staff very nice. Bring it to your table with table water coffees etc when you want them.pay when you order.lovely walk around the island. 45 mins ish. Very steep. Not for infirm persons. But can get a train sometimes to restaurant.
Beautiful island to explore, lots of walking tracks and the views out to sea are just stunning, some of the tracks are a little steep but there is enough to see without the steep walks, cafe on the island provides food and drinks and there are toilets as well, just the walk across the jetty to the island is scenic enough if you dont feel like exploring the island, a must do if visiting Victor Harbor.
The walk on the bridge or the horse tram are a must experience and the on the far end of the island the views are extraordinary. You can also spot few penguins
