Golding Wines

If you don't know about Golding wines Hamper in the Hills - do yourself a favour and book it now! My boyfriend surprised me with this for my birthday and I was absolutely in love with all of it! For one, the location is stunning! Golding Wines is such a beautiful winery. But two, to get this hamper ontop of it, was the best experience. It includes the wine, the picnic rug and the cheese platter with cutlery. Best birthday I've had in a long time.
Thankyou to the staff too! You all were so lovely and friendly.
Will be back again!

Another great wine tasting. We had 5 premium wines which included vintage bubbles, a delicate Chardonnay in the modern style and a brace of Pinots. Great information about each wine was provided.
My favorite was the Marjorie vintage bubbles.
A nice touch was the provision of some tasty treats to enjoy with the tasting.

Amazing experience! The small hamper for the picnic was a perfect size for 2 people and super tasty. Definitely will be going again as it is a perfect venue for a date or event! Loved it.

Had a lovely afternoon at Goldings today with the picnic basket and a bottle of Rocco Shiraz. Shiraz was lovely and picnic basket was great. Will definitely be back.

Great outdoor eatery area, with beautiful pizzas, wine and panacottas!
Then lovely wine tastings and nibbles finished off a lovely afternoon.

Short review: Scenery: beautiful. Service: good. Wine: decent for price. Value for money: poor. Food: bad. Would be a 2.5 stars and wouldn’t rush back.

Longer review: my partner and I went yesterday to do the picnic box and it’s fair to say it was an underwhelming experience. When we arrived we were told we could only sit on the front grass section rather than the nicer section which has beautiful views of the vines because a wedding had been there the day before and the grass was all wet (despite having no rain in the days prior and pleasant weather). This was fine and no issue.

The box itself looked ok but not quite like the one online (picture below shows website version vs what you actually get). The food in the box though was the true let down of the day. First the bread was stale… and I am not one to usually complain but I actually got up and asked for some new bread. The staff were apologetic and handled it well but when the ‘new’ bread came out it was just as bad. I honestly think it had been cut either very early in the morning and just left out all day or it was left over from the wedding the night before. Either way, definitely not fresh bread like they claim.

Butter was the next issue - if the bread had been a little stale maybe some heavy butter might have made it a little more tolerable but unfortunately there wasn’t any included in the box at all

The prosciutto in the box had been out for quite some time as well and tasted like it. It had also lost its nice colour and was that dark stale brown which it goes when it has been left out in the air too long. The other meats (some salami, and a few pieces of cacciatore) were ok but lacked flavour and were obviously not of a high quality to begin with.

The cheese was ok but just a standard Brie and again just of average quality. For the price of the box as well I would have expected a dip as well rather than just some jam and a relish. Even the crackers you could tell had been opened too early and allowed to sit out in the open air and they weren’t as the should be straight out of the packaging.

The wine was good for the price but the overall experience left much to be desired considering it was $90 for this box of food, half of which (the bread) we couldn’t even eat. We also took our own picnic rug and were thankful we did as theirs looked a bit cheap compared to other wineries and it had dirty spots on it.

While I think it is a lovely winery and it would be a nice place for a wedding or dinner, I wouldn’t come back here for the picnic box.

First time to this winery, the food was superb, the setting amazing and the wines very good. Overall a wonderful Friday lunch, we will definitely be back.

The scenery is beautiful, the food is amazing - they catered for a last minute change.which i know must have been annoying. Its our second Xmas show and not our last. Service is impeccable and thanks DB for the cig.

Golding Wines is absolutely INCREDIBLE! We got married here in November 2021, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding. The staff at Golding are amazing. They went above and beyond for us both in the lead up and on the day. A special shout out to Amy (venue manger), who was on top of every single detail and answered my many questions, and also to Laura (wedding coordinator), who was incredible on the day. We had several guests with specific dietary requirements, and Laura called them the week leading up to ensure they were prepared with the right food for them. All of the staff were so lovely on the day and made my husband and I feel like royalty, checking in on us to make sure we had enough to eat and drink. All of our guests have since commented on how amazing the food and wine was, and how kind the staff were. On top of all of this, the grounds at Golding are beautiful. The outdoor terrace is stunning, as is the barn and indoor set up. My husband and I are lucky enough to work in the wedding industry and experience Golding Wines in all its glory most weekends. They are always incredible. We are so thankful to have had our own wedding at such an amazing venue. Thank you Amy, Laura and the whole Golding Wines team ️

Headed to Goldings today for the pizza set menu and no matter how beautiful the venue is it couldn’t make up for the service or food. I have been to Goldings a few times but today was a let down. The service was absent and not overly professional. My mum had two different glasses of wine of which they poured into the same glass instead of getting a new one for the next wine. The antipasto plate had stale bread served with it which made me think they prepped the day before. I did ask for new bread which came out cold like it had been in the fridge. The pizzas were below average, my partner said he has had better ones from the frozen food aisle at coles. Don’t recommend Goldings at all, there are much better wineries in the area to have lunch at.

Lovely setting but check your bill. $45 set pizza menu. Wood oven pizzas not crispy/warm enough but the same price as melt, which has much nicer starters and pizza. Salad was nice. Chocolate tart needs a little more salt.

They'd run out of.paper dockets and thought the bill was a bit high, given that we hadn't had much to drink. Asked the young man to check and were put down as $60/head for seasonal meal, so $150 over for the table.

Some interesting wines and lovely cellar door staff. Both my parent-in-laws had to ask for water several times, the father just getting a bottle from the adjacent table. Overall a pleasant enough day out, moreso because of the lovely weather and outdoor surrounds.

WHAT can I say.except Absolutely Perfect I had my 80th Birthday Luncheon for 14 very special guests yesterday (Sunday 31/10/21) under the trees at Goldings.the day was perfect.the service wad impeccable.the food (4 Course Seasonal Menu) was magnificent! I cannot thank Zoe and her team enough for such a wonderful experience! Heartfelt thanks to your Chef and his team for providing such delicious and wonderfully presented food. 10/10 to you all.

Wines are very nice.limited menu but this works well as what is cooked is very well executed. Setting is excellent.

On a good day this place is stunning. The staff are very helpful. A great place to come to try the wines they have.

Goldings Wines my favourite winery love the views friendly service great food and the best part fantastic wines happy to see Peter today missed Greg hopefully see him next time Charlie and I have been coming here for a long time and today at Lunch we had the special Pizza, Salad and glass of wine for the 2 of us $30: 00 great value and very yummy we will be back for sure Highly recommend to come here?

We went to try some of there wines and were impressed at how stunning the grounds of the winery is.
It would be perfect for an evebt or wedding.
In the tasting room we were offered some different options for wine tasting. I chose Red, Red, Red. The tasting came with some delicious canapés. Which was a nice surprise.
The wine itself had beautiful aromas and a nice balance. We both thoroughly enjoyed them.

Beautiful place. Always enjoy our time at Goldings.good to see Greg everytime. Still overseeing the guests and patrons of the place, ensuring they are enjoying themselves. Got to have the duck salad it was absolutely yum. Slight smoky flavour with crisp salad. A true delight and the gelati is a definite must have. Brought my childhood back in an instance.
