Ginza Miyako Japanese Restaurant reviews
62Good presentation of food. However there were problems with the sashimi and nigiri. Some of the cuts in the sashimi and nigiri had questionable freshness. The colour of the fish lacked the glistening shine of being fresh, and also the smell was a bit fishy. The texture was dry and slightly powdery (kingfish and snapper nigiri, and tuna sashimi). Sashimi was all cut too thick (not enjoyable to eat) and were also not cut well (pieces stuck together). Nigiri had too much rice. One of nigiri also had a small piece of bone embedded in it. Also wish fresh udon was used for the entree, it instead tasted like the dehydrated udon noodles.
At best it was average.
Ginza dream cocktail was not available
Fried rice was not available
Seemed like so much of the menu is not available.
Sushi, sashimi and pork belly very average.
Wonderful service, food was thoughtful and very fresh sashimi. Now open Sunday evening also which was a lovely tranquil experience. Would highly recommend!
Lunch time bento box specials are great value and quality - Nov 2019
Updated review
Sep 2019. Increased prices. Tiny portions. Slower service. Sashimi not fresh.
Was a 5 star venue. Now 2 stars unfortunately.
A mere shadow of its former self
I would not recommend $128 degustation menu ti anyone! The Singapore chilli crab noodle was so disgusting, it is slimy and grossly sweet. And no crab meat can be seen. The waiting staff doesn’t even know what they are serving, my banana sorbet taste like Passionfruit. Only dish I was happy with was the Murray cod.
It is way below the standard for the money they are charging.
I have been here a few times, this would be one of the worst dinning experience.
Absolutely outstanding among the culinary district of Adelaide, the traditional Japanese setting of this restaurant just brings a sense of comfort to the customer. The food is sensational as it is prepared by hand delicately. I would recommend the Wagyu Beef Tataki as it melts in your mouth, served with various condiments it is amazing for the pallet. I will definitely be coming back soon as it is an amazing restaurant. I recommend to anyone who is into amazingly prepared and executed sensationally tasting traditional cuisine.
Fantastic service, delicious fresh food, very accommodating.and great atmosphere.
Highly recommend.
Food was not nice, overly sweet and only tasted soy sauce in the hotpot and not much to choose from
Fantastic tasting food and service. Staff were very accommodating, great atmosphere. Would eat here again
Excellent quality food with a variety of Japanese and non Japanese options. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is very considerate.
Not soley focused on sushi or ramen, but what you can get is very well made. And those not inclined to go full Japanese can get a some simpler western classics. Steak, fish, oysters, etc
We came in for one of their High Tea specials that they run from time to time. It felt like the dishes were neverending! So much sashimi, sushi, finger sandwiches, pork belly, gyoza, tempura, chicken skewers and a big plate of desserts accompanied by a glass of sparkling and a pot of sencha tea. There was not a single dish I would've called average. I'd love something like this in Sydney
Really authentic Japanese dining experience. Tempura and sushi fusion platter was great but too pricey. Staff were lovely but order came late nearly 40 mins for a sushi platter. Some tables who ordered later than us seems to have had their ones made first. We had to follow up on our order before it came to their attention.
Incredibly diverse selection of starters, mains, desserts, and fresh fish. Food tasted good, couplrd with outstanding presentation. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with friendly staff. But the food was a bit expensive.
Amazing customer service but the food was quite disappointing. Ordered one of their lunch specials and their friend chicken tasted like burnt toast. Was quite dissapointed overall, especially after a friend said that their chicken tasted "better than KFC".
Over priced for the portion size, Got our order wrong twice. We eat at japaneese restaurants in adelaide regularly and we won't go back here again.
We had the set High Tea menu, it was uniquely delicious.
The ambiance in the restaurant was just suited to the exquisite menu, the table service was spot on, staff are exceptional.
Good environment and decoration for Japanese restaurant. Staff looks nice but a bit hard to get attention. If a button for assistance is available I would’ve given 5 stars.
Sushi taste is good but the fish piece could be bigger.
Love the food and service is impeccable. Although on the pricey side well worth it. Have been several times now and keep going back.
Ok Japanese food, ok service. Not exceptional, not impressed at all. Only the price is Fine Dining. Not recommend.
Amazing service from all the staff, service was very quick, food was amazing and we'll priced for sharing between 5 people
Strongly recommend!
