I really like it!I went on a Saturday night and ordered 4course and 6course for two people, I thought the prices were very low for the food and ambience! The setting is really perfect for a couple to enjoy a meal on a date. The warm and inviting environment makes you feel at ease, and the tatami seats give you a comfortable feeling.

The waitresses there are very cute and they always serve us with a smile. They were always there to serve us with a smile, and when there was no water on the table, they were very helpful in asking if there was anything to add. They also give us the names and ingredients of each dish!

I was also very happy with the food! The main course was the steak, which was very generous and tender. The crab meat and pork dumplings were very tasty and the perfect blend of the two meats was a different experience. The dessert at the end was my favourite dish! The rich matcha flavour with a glass of sake, the sweet taste with the liquor of the sake made it very special.

I usually do not make any ratings.
This rating was made by Japanese from Japan.

Probably one of the worst Japanese restaurant.
Service was cold and no hospitality at all.

Not authentic. I’d be very embarrassing if people think that is Japanese cuisine.
It is Chinese operation, staffs & chefs.

All the food was too garlic taste, no simplicity nor quality. Even a rice they used was middle grain not short grain. Perhaps saving cost.

Putting on some Japanese words and looking was a cheap entertainment food. If you really know food quality, you’d notice this is just a cheap decoration food - no flavor.

I want to tell loud that this isn’t AUTHENTIC Japanese food at all.
They don’t deserve even one star to be honest…

Dreadful experience. Slow service. Items not available that are listed on food and beverage list. Expensive and not worth it. Epic fail. Won't be back.

The food was lovely, although the vegan sushi main was a little bit basic. One of my items (tea) came out incorrect but I didn't mind that much.

A big negative was that there was a half hour wait after my main came out before my partner received his. It wasn't a great experience as by that time I had finished my food long before. It put a bit of a downer on our evening. My dish was a sushi dish so I don't see why they couldn't have just held mine off until my partner's was also ready if they were experiencing issues in the kitchen.

I have been here many times, and normally love it - however, last night was extremely disappointing. The service was lack luster, we waited 30+ minutes for a flask of cold sake to be served to the table. I'm pretty certain the wait staff forgot, as other tables who had sat down after us got their drinks before us. I'd also asked if there was going to be crab served in the set menu (as my friend has a crab allergy!) - to which I was told no. Lo and behold, there was a crab dish. Fortunately the person who served it to us apologised and went back to the kitchen to get another similar dish for my friend.

First entree took 45 minutes to come out for 3 small pieces of fish. Thankfully most of the dishes were good, and thereafter the food didn't take too long to come out. Dessert was a creme brulee, which was unfortunately very eggy. For $100pp ($600 altogether), I'd expect better customer service. I'm hoping it was a one off / a bad night.

Duck breast was good.
Sashimi was over priced and not fresh enough in that price.
The matcha tiramisu wasn’t taste any matcha flavour. But three years ago, it was very delicious and that comes with two pieces instead of one, and also sesame ice cream.
Quite disappointed.

Very expensive for what it is. Went to the restaurant based on recommendation from the hotel and looking at the menu on the website.

1. Don’t look at that menu. It is NOT what they serve. They should update it. It must be a few years old.

2. The agedashi tofu was nice and crunchy but almost no sauce and no bonito.

3. The wagyu scotch fillet, 250g, couldn’t have been more than 160g and was cooked well done. It was terrible. Don’t order medium rare as that means well done! Extremely disappointing.

4. We were told there was no tuna sushi in the sushi platter as it was not possible to get quality tuna at the moment. However, the first item on the entrees was the tuna tataki! Not sure what quality that would have been…

I don’t like being negative but would hate for someone to go to this restaurant, pay high end/5 star Adelaide prices and end up with what we did tonight. Would have gotten much better value for money at fast food.

We eat out a lot and mostly tend to roll with the punches; I tend to write reviews either if I’m extremely impressed or disappointed. Unfortunately, Ginza was very disappointing.

We wanted to try the eight-dish menu since we were celebrating a milestone. There was no list to tell us what would be included, and when we asked the waitress what the menu included, she couldn’t tell us anything except for sashimi and dumplings (of which neither were part of what came out). Another waitress said duck was coming (again, that didn’t come out). Tiny portions, dull flavours, very bony fish, and very fatty beef were all things we were disappointed by. We were also surprised and disappointed by one of the eight dishes being a single scoop of sorbet (something you might otherwise get complimentary as a palate cleanser in other similar venues). We left still feeling a bit hungry. For $128 each (not including drinks), it was horrendous value for money.

The two positive aspects were the politeness of staff and sake options.

Love the freshness of Japanese cuisine and this place didn't disappoint at all. Tried the 4 course meal and it was the perfect balance of freshness, flavours, and the varieties.

Attended a High Tea at the venue! Definitely the closest experience likely to be found in Adelaide to Japanese Dining.

Confusion is a better description of Ginza Miyako. French influence is so well hidden as is any hint of Japanese staff. The mostly Chinese staff comprise some lovely (really, really sweet and lovely) girls serving who have clearly never worked in restaurants before. The language problems and confusion became comical and it is clear that whoever is managing is as disinterested in helping these women do their job, much less learn and expand their skill set that it was a relief for us to get away. Food was okay but getting the order right was farcical. We had dinner there on Sunday March 6.

Tried the $40 sushi platter which is way below average. Not worth the money at all. Had the king fish and steak which were okay. However the service was really bad. We had to wait and ask for their attention which is not that great considering the amount of money you will be paying here. Not worth it.

This review was made from with the opinion of a Japanese from Japan.

The management of this business is Chinese and so are the waitresses so perhaps the menu is not completely authentic ‘Japanese’, which is an important note considering the price of the food and appearance of this restaurant.

We first ordered the tempura mix. A positive was the matcha powder with salt, it was an interesting and nice combination which tasted good. However the tempura fish tasted off and not fresh. Also, mayonnaise was served with the tempura which is not typical for real expensive Japanese restaurants in Japan. It gave the impression of a cheaper restaurant.

The two girls working at that time were kind, well-mannered and attentive to the customers. There was a choice of stilled or sparkling water and the waitress poured our glasses for us.

Maybe one of the girls was new so she didn’t know, but when bringing our tempura dish and naming the condiments, she didn’t know what the white grated radish was called and couldn’t recall the name. We told her it was white grated radish (we think) but she still looked unsure and only slightly agreed with us. I think she didn’t know the English name for radish. Also, there was only 1 other table while we were dining and the waitress brought us a champagne we didn’t order. She seemed confused we didn’t order it and brought it to the only other table. Upon bringing it there, the customer told her she ordered red wine and not champagne.

We also ordered pork tonkatsu which appearance was good but the taste was only ok. It contained a lot of the fat part which wasn’t possible to chew. The sesame dressing was not a large amount but it was good as well as the rice.

The sukiyaki was the best dish overall, it came with lettuce, Japanese mushroom, celery, udon, tofu, and 2 carrot slices. The broth tasted good.

The cocktail had a slight alcoholic taste and was sweet. Also happy to find Suntory Premium Malts which is a bit rare for other Japanese restaurants.

Overall improvements could be made to this restaurant and especially at its price point.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The Japanese style food was delicious. The duck was slightly over cooked and some elements lacked seasoning but still quite nice. Overall a pleasant experience

The place was really nice in terms of authentic food and decor but food was not worth anywhere near the price tag. Way to to improve would be to get better tasting ingredients overall great service

High end restaurant, exceptional quality of seafood, a bit expensive but totally worth it. Very friend and attentive start, the atmosphere relaxed and quite- you can talk and hear what others are saying. 4 stars for not having regular soup bowls on the menu (although the chef tried to accommodate my request). We went there 4 of us, 2 adults, 2 kids, just dinner for 4 - $180. Not bad, and the food was high class. Thank you, we did enjoy it.

Came here for a special anniversary dinner and ordered the main sushi and sashimi boat. It arrived on normal plates. When we asked if this was the boat, the answer was that "the boat hasn't arrived". Would be a very honest, professional gesture if we were told in the beginning so we wouldn't have our excitement for the special day let down.

Came here in 2016 and was very impressed. Came here again in 2021 and felt that overall the food is QUITE expensive considering how I was not absolutely full. Ordered the mixed seafood and veg tempura which was nice and came with lovely salts/mayo/sauces but the serving size is small as we needed 2 serves for 4 people. In terms of the mains, the king salmon dish was unique, interesting and worth trying. The mango pudding dessert was a little odd in terms of flavour balance. Overall everything is cooked well, presented beautifully and you know you're eating good-quality food but you may not necessarily be blown away and need to be ready to spend a lot.

Good ambience, friendly staff, very accommodating and helpful when we're not sure what to choose from the menu. Had the 8 course menu and some ala carte, everything was amazing. The premium sashimi, scotch fillet and murray cod are totally recommended. Amazing food quality and the freshness of sushi and sashimi. Also a must try for the wagyu sukiyaki. I will be back!
