Ginza Miyako Japanese Restaurant reviews
62Very good food and great service. The best aburi salmon don with the reasonable price. Tako karage was so yummy and I cannot stop eating. We will definitely come back!
We found this small yet so nice Japanese restaurant just hiding inside the Stamford Hotel. It’s a pretty good place to dine with family and friends. All their staff were friendly and accommodating, made sure all our needs are met. The food was mouthwatering, presentable and well decorated. It’s definitely worth coming back for!
We came in for lunch special, had salmon Don, seafood ramen and chicken karaage. Food were absolutely delicious, and exceptional customer service. We definitely will come back again. Ps: love the very calm music and the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Excellent food with freshness and good presentation! Nice service and environment, this becomes my favorite restaurant in Adelaide. Highly recommended.
Four stars is fair for food, very nice without being exceptional. The service was good but mood is lacking. Would be improved greatly by dimming the lights 30%, dimming the music 20%, and getting rid of the twinkle lights along the window sill. Wine list pretty lacking, although I appreciate it’s not the drawcard for a Japanese restaurant.
Some minor tweaks could make it very good indeed…I wonder if limitations are placed on it being part of the hotel? If the vibe lived up to the food it’d be an easy recommendation.
Great night here! Staff was very nice and kind and food was excellent! We will definitely come back! Recommended!
Overpriced. We left very disappointed and hungry. The staff were lovely and the restaurant is quite pleasant inside. The food was nicely presented but not anything special, particularly when price is considered. We had items from the Vegan menu and the mains were $28 / $29 and tiny. I don't mind a small serve at a fancy restaurant when the food is divine but this was no better than the average takeaway joint.
Excellent place for dinner. Modern kaiseki ryoori is renowned. Amazing desserts. I recommend the matcha tiramisu. Attentive service. Good wine list. Views for people-watching. Quiet atmosphere. Tatami rooms available.

If you’re looking at reporting this to the police, please do. If you think i’ll be using a fake gift card and post it here, then you’re mistaken. I have a Prezzee Voucher that can be swap to any retailers and restaurant in Adelaide. You can check the validity of it as much as you want and do more research. If you think you can scare me with this, I have nothing to hide. I’ll be more than happy to talk to the police and discuss the matter with them. Right now, I am in contact with the Prezzee team to give you guys a call.
It was quite a disappointment actually:
1. Went there on time. Told them I have a gift card but they don’t know if I can use the gift card or not.
2. They treat us like we have no money to pay. I told them, it’s not like we only have the gift card, if we can’t use the gift card we can pay in cash. And that’s when the crew started serving us.
3. It took them almost an hour to take our order. And another hour and half to serve us the food. Imagine, we arrived at 7: 30PM and got our food at almost 9: 10PM. I was starving and others had been waiting for their meals too.
4. The Manager took my gift card worth $350, our bill was approximately less than $250. When I check my gift card online, all $350 has been used without my permission. I was surprised when I refreshed my gift card. They took the photo of the gift card with my IDs and didn’t even bother giving/sending us the receipt.
I was really looking forward to eat here but was tremendously disappointed with the service, and the food is “okay” and not worth the price. Please be mindful especially if you have gift cards, they will pretend that they don’t know if it’s acceptable yet they will take all the amount.
Purchased the High Tea with Glass of Sparkling & Free Flowing Tea & Coffee through Scoopon for my birthday lunch. Restaurant was closed even though I had a pre-paid booking for 30/04/2023 at 12pm.
From Melbourne here, basing off my review from the places I've eaten at mainly in Melbourne.this restaurant is not worthy to visit as a tourist as it's just simply too expensive for what you get. Beside that, the nigiri rice lacked taste and vinegar which is just basic stuff. The tempura is deep fried batter, not tempura which is shocking, this item should be renamed to not mislead diners. Really would say the only pro about this joint is the presentation and ambiance. If you are after good Japanese fusion, recommended to give a miss at this time.
My favourite restaurant in Adelaide. Beautiful Japanese food. Fantastic. I loved the scotch fillet. Very well cooked. The crab salad was delicious and the burnt cheesecake with raspberry sorbet was delicious.
Service is nice and great, environment looks clean with terrible food quality for lunch. Served with burned unagi, and deep fried pork chashu, and they call it “pork katsu”. Fruit clearly not washed, u can still see the dirt on that. A restaurant pretend to be a Japanese restaurant. Not even close
Best Japanese restaurant in Adelaide, located city central just across the road from the casino! Fresh sashimi, all the dishes we ordered was so delicious! Lovely warm interiors and lighting really sets a nice welcoming, relaxed space to enjoy dinner! Staff were so friendly and provided exceptional service. Would be recommending to all my friends and family and will be back again on the next visit!
Had high hopes for this restaurant given the location and price. Unfortunately did not live up to the hype. The sushi platter was quite underwhelming, the sushi rice lacked vinegar and the uni overpowered the fish. The tempura was not as light as tempura should be. The mussels were quite nice however. The oysters were nice but nothing exceptional. The signature carpaccio wasn't special. The Wagyu flavour was overpowered by the sauces. The texture was quite nice though. The Wagyu steak (ordered medium-rare) was not as tender as it usually should be. Honestly questioned if it actually was Wagyu or not. The sauce and puree, however, was quite delicious. Overall an underwhelming experience for the price you pay.
Forgot the take photo to the hot pot ~~
Hotpot is a bit salty but the dessert Wes good and tradition
The food was great and the service was even better, even going so far as to turn down the music to help calm down our 6 month old baby
Exceptional in every respect. Welcoming helpful staff, a great menu with many options and wonderful atmosphere. Tried other recommended restaurants locally with no luck on a quiet night but was welcomed here. Next trip to Adelaide I will visit again!
3.5/5
Nice ambiance and got sitting by the window looking over North Tce and Parliament House, so it was lovely for a wedding anniversary.
The service was good and the waitresses attentive and explained the set menu as we couldn’t find what was included.
Food was average but I might say that the beef carpaccio was excellent!
The main was a duck dish that to be honest, I didn’t like as the flavour was off.
Dessert was a nice crème caramel with good flavour and texture.
If I could post. 0 stars I would. Shocking experience and will never ever go back.
Our party of 9 arrived when it opened at 6pm, they were not busy. It took them 20 minutes to even come to our table and offer water. We had to invite the waiter over to order our meals, as they never came back after water. Drinks and meals were ordered. 15 minutes after ordering, the waitress came around to tell us that they had run out of 4 meals, which were ordered from the standard menu! In the meantime, 3 meals had arrived. 20 minutes later 3 more meals arrived (the first 3 had finished). After 30 minutes, we cancelled the 3 orders which still hadn't arrived and asked for the bill. 10 minutes later, whilst waiting for the bill, 2 of the meals arrived (they were sent back). The bill arrived a further 10 minutes later, when the last meal arrived, which was also sent back.
Based on the delivery of meals, we would have had 4 sittings for 9 people! Ridiculous! Go to La Boca next door. Great service and great food.
One other thing to note, website menu does not match restaurant menu.
