The coffee at Fred's is great. The food is always excellent and the service is fantastic. Great spot in the Adelaide hills to visit.

Delicious food! We go here all the time. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that it's on the slightly pricier side. But other than that, everything is perfect! I recommend the cloud gnocchi.

As regular patrons of this fabulous hills cafe, we cannot recommend it highly enough.
The staff are friendly (never too busy to ask you 'genuinely' how you are), efficient and accomodating.
The food- delicious, plentiful and a fabulous selection.
All in all a class act and an absolute gift to the hills community.

Terrible service, arrogant/rude attitude from 2 waiting staff & manager, booked a table night before, Never once told via all communication our table had another booking after ours, NO SMS, NOT AT THE DOOR/ON PHONE, NOTHING, waitress suddenly admitted the reserved sign was hidden on our table & we had 10 mins to leave, this was backed up by even ruder waiter then manager, we were polite, expressed our concerns, it fell on deaf ears! We would not recommend- Will NOT be back again

Awwww, I love coming to Fred's Eatery, my local Cafè. They make amazing food and drinks. Always a busy place and staff are always welcoming.

If you want skin milk in your coffee you won't get it here. They refuse to stock it. Try the coffee shop further down - it's daggy but makes great coffee for $2!

The best breakfast ever. Try the breakfast burger, you won't be disappointed. And when you leave, keep an eye out in the trees; you might just spot a koala.

The breakfast gnocchi was an unexpected delicious delight, and the coffee was on point. Very homely feeling and great service

Over priced and underwhelming. Paid $19 for one piece of toast with two mushrooms. The owner is abrasive and unhelpful towards customers if they’re asking a question about the menu. The menu lacks variety and creativity with only one vegan option available (pea salad?) when I asked to remove the goats curd to make my expensive toast vegan the owner seemed almost offended. Don’t waste your time on this place, you can make the food they have on offer for much less and you won’t have to deal with a bad attitude.

We tried the Ruben sandwich and fries in the outdoor seating area which overlooked the carpark. It was a bit damp and cold as expected on a winters day. I really enjoyed the sandwich but didn't try the coffee or cake. Maybe next time

Unfortunately Owner arrogant! When I had trouble using my entertainment card instead of working with me to help, he told me I must have used it before and so the discount would not apply.carried on serving customers! When I did get it working and mentioned I felt belittled to be told I was trying to double dip, I was told it was my perception and that was that.no apology! I reviewed the eatery on FB and got the rudest response, advising we need not cross paths again. This response has now been deleted! A shame to have such arrogance in such a small community. Suggestion Go get coffee somewhere else.

Great atmosphere in this busy cafe in the heart of stunning Aldgate. The breakfast selection is really interesting and the food is delicious and high quality. Great attention to detail in everything. The cakes and sweets are so tempting and the African hot chocolate with orange is a must-try! Service is friendly and efficient. Dog friendly outdoor seating available. Love this place.

Nicely appointed place, modern but comfortable, seems very popular (Saturday morning). Croque Monsieur 8/10, French Toast 8/10, Strawberry Milkshake 10/10. The staff are organised and prompt. Food looks to be pretty fresh and feels like it is cooked and assembled with thought, so I get the pricing. Would come here again.

Three of us had a light lunch there today (22-4-2018). The place was very full it being: Weekend; Market Day; School Holidays. Mental note: go on a week day if you can. We sat at a table at the back in the sun which was just too hot for us. A simple solution would have been some large umbrellas over the tables. HOWEVER: the food was simply excellent and the service polite and perky. A bit on the expensive side but probably worth it.
