A gorgeous little eatery with incredible food! It is very cute with great service and we didn't wait very long for food even at a busy time.

Once again we are very pleased with the customer service, environment, food presentation and taste. As usual we were greeted very warmly by the manager. Coffee a 10/10.has never been any different.

I decided to leave a review as we are so impressed that it has not changed over the years we have been coming here.
I was so surprised to read negative reviews. This has not been our experience, at all, and begs the question: who would want to harm their business!
So give Fred a go people. That way you can find out for yourself.

It's an ok spot, nicely decorated but very pricey. Service is average, nothing special and the food fits in with that. Stellar prices and food that looks better than it tastes.
We had ti have brunch as we were 22 minutes early for lunch (only 3 minutes early if you consider when the dish came out).
Eggs were nice but 1 slice of super thick bread, which was crunchy and tasteless.
Ingredients are nice and fresh but just poorly put together, no balance in the plate.
Smoothie was 60% ice and chunky, enough do that the straw is useless.

All in all a very average experience with a hefty bill.

Had the most amazing meal here on Sunday before we went to a concert at Ukaria, it was just wonderful and the staff were extraordinary! Highly recommend, we will be back.

Well worth a drive up into the Adelaide Hills to this Aldgate establishment. Nice decor, great menu, delish dishes.

Gorgeous little cafe. Friendly staff and a great menu with plenty of vegetarian options too.

I had the halloumi and avocado sarnie and it was yummy (the beetroot tapenade was the highlight).

Very busy so book ahead.

We decided spontaneously to go for a drive through the Adelaide Hills and ended up at this pleasant little cafe restaurant. Staff were pleasant and the environment was welcoming. Good service, and good coffee! See you again soon!

Cute cafe in Aldgate. We popped in late morning for an unplanned break. Good coffee, although they don't have skim milk. Brownie was very moist. Staff cheerful, efficient.
Ample seating downstairs and upstairs. If you have prams/strollers you can take them into the cafe but will be asked to tuck them away from the tables so staff and other patrons have easy and safe access to the tables. Parking off the street is behind the shopping strip and is easily accessible with a short distance through to the cafe and other shops. It is advisable to book for meals but certainly worth a visit. We'll be back for a longer visit next time.

Dropped in during the week for lunch, quite a few people in but no trouble getting a table. Not a big place, might be busy on the weekends. Staff friendly and helpful, no delay in showing us to a table. Meals came quickly, both of us happy with our meals. I had the French Toast which was delicious. Would definitely come again.

A wonderful cafè that takes pride in its food and drink. The Flat White I had was smooth, a little creamy and full of flavour. No bitterness at all. Then, to top it all off, the Wagon Wheel biscuit I bought was huuuuge, and complete with generous layers of marshmallow and jam; all finished off with a thick coating of chocolate. Great stuff. Don't pass up on the chance to drop into this delightful cafè and sample its fine range of food and drink.

First time visiting I found the manger very blunt and rude taking orders but worth a second chance, second time I observed him unprovoked lash out at a customer, this left me very uncomfortable with his presence, both times waiting staff seemed to have more tables than they could handle.

A great place to eat. The food was very good the staff were friendly and the prices reasonable. I would recommend this place. They also have an interesting gift shop next door. Limited parking on the street so would recommend parking in the nearby supermarket carpark,

Delicious little eatery we stumbled upon during a drive through the hills. Staff were friendly and accommodating, finding a table for three people without a booking. We ate outside in the cute little courtyard. Food and drinks were both delicious!

I visit Fred's at least 3 mornings a week and I find the staff and Manager to be welcoming, inclusive, supportive, always there to listen, not to mention the efficient way my order is served. I would thoroughly recommend Fred's it is the best local cafe in the Hills.

Great food, love the decor.the lady staff are the ones to be served by, the boys were a bit abrupt and we seemed like an interruption to there morning. Lol

Absolutely delicious!
We had Cloud Gnochi, and also Hi Hi Shanghai. Wow! Gnochi was perfect. Squid & tofu were perfect, and the sweetcorn & lime leaf mash - oh wow! Got a takeaway slice of Sicilian Apple cake - delicious! Staff were polite and friendly, food was served quite quickly. Highly recommend.

The hills are alive with the sound of FRED.

Yet another of example of an Adelaide Hills eatery that shows them city slickers how its done.

Ok yes the prices are a premium, but the plates of food reflect their value. A creative bfast / brunch / lunch menu that boasts fresh, flavoursome and seasonal produce.

Speacial mention to the staff who despite being flat out, still found time to smile and chat with my daughter.

The coffee here was also on point.

Great atmosphere but (in comparison to the other cafes in the Hills) the coffee tastes better at other places. Could have been the person making it or just the coffee they use.

Really enjoyed the coffee and food here. COVID restrictions have made the wait a little longer, most definitely worth the wait.
