Exeter Hotel Semaphore

This amazing heritage hotel was the spot to host a surprise 50th birthday party for my husband. Decorating the shed which leads into the beer garden was perfect with the warm party lights. The big screen tv was great for an amazing slideshow and music to share with all our guests. The managers and team are fantastic and hospitable and help catered for all our needs.
The platters are full of flavour and are great sizes, definitely value for money.
Suitable for all ages with an indoor playground.

Waited over an hour for our meal and then served wrong meal.the k8ds came out first, followed by half hour wait for one adult and then second adult and another 20 mins for 3rd adult with wrong meal! Just to long. Yep they were busy but what's the problem?

If you go for dinner on a Sunday night, expect to wait 1.5hrs for your meals. It was not a busy night with customers by any means except by the some of the staff. One of the staff members said short staffed, another said other customers were before us. Considering the venue was half empty, this was highly unlikely. Anyway the food was good, but you might want to ask how long it will take to get your food prior to ordering. The service does require attention. Some were polite, others not so much. Upon ordering we should have been told the meals were going to take over an hour, rather than making everyone upset and not come back in the future.

Normal sort of local pub. Good schnitty and sauce. I'd go back. Kids loved the play area.

Good friendly staff. Christmas was a success. Reasonably priced. I would recommend it to others. Parking accessible

I loved the thought of going to seaside and having a meal. Ordered a simple steak and was very disappointed! Scotch fillet was under seasoned and not charred enough. I cook my steaks at home better!

Lovely pub. Family atmosphere and great, friendly staff. Sunny beer garden to hide from the wind.

We didn't have food due to a booking elsewhere but will do so next time!

Stayed for new years eve. The staff were so lovely and the room nice and clean. Shower was wonderful. Lol. Definitely recommend

Late late late late meal. But not 1 star as when we finally got our meal, it was decent. They offered free dessert or drink but we didn't take up the offer. Seriously.get it right people!

Fantastic food and friendly service. A great way to spend Christmas day. Can't wait to see next year's menu

Selling hot cartons through the bottle shop.poor form could at least give you the heads up.

My group had Xmas lunch at the Exeter at semaphore.
We arrived n the table was decorated very nice.
Our entrees arrived n we sell enjoyed them n we had a nice rest b4 our mains arrived which was good as we didn't want to rush between our courses of meals.
Our mains arrived. 2 of our group ordered the ham n turkey n couldn't believe how much meat was on they're plate it was more than enough
The others ordered the scotch n lobster, it was amazing. The steak was almost as big as my plate n the lobster was great, them there was a nice break b4 our desserts which were just as amazing.
Hats of to the staff at the Exeter, my group all enjoyed our Xmas lunch n will recommend it to others. We will drfinately be going next year

Yes they were busy but I think that 97 minutes for lunch is not great, even when we inquired 3 or 4 times. Then we were told that they had forgotten our orders. How could they forget 11 meals? Finally got our meals and they were cold. Not a great experience.

Look at all the renovations they have done. That money isn't coming from the below average food. It's from ripping off problem gamblers with the rigged pokies. Sad what pubs have become.

Excellent pub. Had a very large family occasion here on Saturday night. Service was great, especially given it was so busy. Food was great & they really accommodated to our needs. Kids were well catered for too. Will happily return.

Has been a while since we last dined here, ordered the 250g steak which was cooked exactly as ordered. Really enjoyed the meal and friendly staff.
I did notice the place seemed much quieter than I remember from my last dine-in.

Nice family pub to dine in and enjoy with family. Kid friendly even have playground for the kiddies after theyve eaten!

What a great experience! Nicole, Alana and the team were wonderful. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and the rooms are clean, fresh and modern. Its in a brilliant location, close to shops and the beach. The food is delicious and priced well and the service from the staff is exceptional. We're already looking forward to our next stay.

Great family pub. The playground is fantastic for young kids, the menu is extensive, and the staff seemed friendly. We all enjoyed the food we ordered too

My salt and pepper squid was served with no tartare sauce or lemon wedge! My daughters meal ended with a refund due to an issue. Overall disappointing lunch outing
