Emu Bay Holiday Homes

I can not recommend Emu Bay Holiday Homes highly enough! From the start of us making contact with our accommodation enquiry, Rene was super helpful, efficient and friendly. We stayed in the house 'Amani' which was perfect for our family - 2 adults and 2 kids (15 & 11). The kids each had their own bedroom and shared a bathroom while we had the large main bedroom and ensuite bathroom that doubled as a laundry. The house was absolutely spotless, clean and tidy. It has everything you could ever need for a fantastic holiday - ample bedding, linen/towels, the kitchen had heaps of great appliances, cutlery, crockery and everything else in between. We really liked to be able to be environmentally friendly with recycling and compost bins as well as buckets in the showers to capture the excess rainwater that we used to water the gardens and top up the birdbaths - the birds thanked us with their presence. The property had heaps of room for our 11 year old to run around, a cubby and playgrounds, we also enjoyed finding koalas in the many trees on and surrounding the property. Our 15 year old loved the free wifi. There were heaps of great boardgames, books, dvds provided to use as well. I enjoyed the large sitting room looking out to the views of Emu Bay, just to relax and take in the view or read a book. It was such an amazing view to wake up to each morning and watch the sunset at night time. We were lucky to receive a lovely welcome pack on arrival with a bottle of local wine, jar of honey and oats - thank you! Make sure you give Rene a call when looking for accommodation at Emu Bay, check out their website to see what they have to offer but call and find out if they have anything available for your dates. Try and book ahead as much as you can - you don't want to miss out on staying at this spectacular property. We will definitely be back!

Emu Bay is a fantastic place to stay on Kangaroo Island and these Homes ans Cabins are great! Clean and well set up and full of character. If you are interested in wildlife or just want to chill out and have a relaxing time beside the Bay this is the place for you. Rene and the team are really caring and terrific to deal with. Can't recommend this place enough.

Beautiful spot, cosy private house and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided.kangaroos on the lawn were a nice touch and the koalas were a unexpected delight for the kids.

We had a great stay at EBHH. It has everything that you need for a nice little getaway with your family. Rene was a gracious host with plenty of information and ideas on what to do and see on KI. There are even some local furry friends! Would love to be back there soon!

A home away from home but with an incredible surrounding and spectacular views. I would definitely recommend this place for couples and especially for families who prefers a serene place to stay for holidays.

This place is one of the best we have stayed at. The cottage is clean, beautiful inside and out, the owner was super friendly and an absolute delight to deal with. The views were amazing, the beds were comfortable and it was so nice to have all the amenities to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I HIGHLY recommend staying here and booking directly with them to gain great benefits and even ferry discounts, it helps them out in the long run and they definitely deserve it!

Loved the cabin we stayed in. The layout suited us to a "T". Thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the verandah having breakfast overlooking the bay. A perfect home away from home, not to mention the personal touches. Thank you Rene for a most relaxing stay.

We stayed in Shalom and it was awesome. Great location with koalas in the trees next to us. Great views and great location to access the island from. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. Awesome service from Rene who provided excellent directions to find our accommodation and links to attractions on the island. She also kept us updated with ferry details. We will be back. Beautiful location and great cabin with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay

My mum and I stayed at Emu Bay Holiday Homes for three nights. We had cabin 2 and it was absolutely wonderful. It had all the creature comforts like Tv, Heating/Cooling and Wifi but it was also tranquil and serene like you were in the middle of nowhere. Rene was very accommodating and friendly, even though we didn’t actually meet her (we were too busy running here, there and everywhere around the island) She called on our first night to check in with us to make sure everything was okay and made sure we knew if we needed anything she was just a phone call away. Emu Bay is a good spot to base yourself as it’s about 30 minutes from Kingscote and you’ll find plenty to do if you just pick a direction and drive for up to an hour. I would absolutely recommend Emu Bay Holiday Homes for anyone who wants that country, rustic, I’m the only person in the world feeling along with modern comforts.

It’s a must standing looking at the bay it feels strange just hearing birds we are lucky to have this in Australia

Very clean and quite spacious (Stayed at Cabin 2 with 2 adults and 3yo). Had more than enough cooking tools and means including a BBQ.

The serenity! The views! We loved it here and will be back as soon as possible! The holiday homes were very well equipped to do our own cooking, and the cabins were very clean and cosy. We loved the views to Emu Bay, and really appreciated the chance to reduce our footprint through composting and recycling stations. Emu Bay is well set up to visit the rest of the island, but we also felt secluded enough to enjoy the quiet and see the bright stars at night.
