Elder Park reviews
50A beautiful urban park with picturesque views of the River Torrens and Adelaide Oval. Walk on the bridge to get to the Oval while overlooking the river and the ducks it houses
Enjoyed walking around here but there was only very limited scheduled boat services if you wanted to discover more on water.
I miss the little waterfall they had at the end of the bridge. Nice place to stop and think for a bit
Love walking around this area Elder Park. Give it a 4 star for good atmosphere and cleanliness.
Elder park is one of Adelaide's best known and most popular public recreational facilities. The lawned area lies between the Festival Centre, King William St and the River Torrens, on the opposite side of to Adelaide Oval. It's the venue for many major public events including New Year"s fireworks, Christmas carols and ethic festivals. And it has an ornate Victorian era rotunda and a dock where you can catch the Pip Eye sightseeing boat or a much smaller paddle boat.
Beautiful place and nice fresh air for a great walk around go to this place so many ducks and birds around
Its a lovely green open space in the city where a lot of people have a good run. On some weekends the rowing clubs are out practising on the water.
You can walk a little further and get quiter sections as well.
Good place to spend some quite time. Also a good place to see the convention centre and oval lights in the night.
Nice place to relax, kick back, and enjoy the dolphins that don't exist in the lake, but they can exist in your imagination. With or without dolphins it's still really nice
Heart of Adelaide CBD!
Beautiful views of river Torrens, Adelaide oval and other iconic buildings!
Must visit for travellers!
Great scenic area with plenty of cool and cultural events throughout the year. Offers a great view of the river and Adelaide Cityscape, with local wildlife and sitting space on well-kept grass. Must see for visitors to our fine city!
Beautiful park to visit especially if you want to have a picnic throughout the year they have some fantastic events here as well
Great place for NYE only thing wrong would be that adelaide city council have prime view and easy access to food every one else has to walk about 200.300 meters to buy food. Lucky for some
NYE destination for all south Australians with food excellent excitement family fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The new year fireworks display was breathtaking. Thousands of people gathered at elder park grounds to welcome the new year. The band was playing enthusiastically throughout the night. Had a really great time. Probably the best free new year experience anyone can have it the city of Adelaide.
Nice to visit, not much to do. There's just a few expensive restaurants and one coffee shop. Hire a paddle boat but it's $20 for 20mins. Not much shade and anything over 30DegC (ie most days December to February) and it's very exposed. Grass is watered so always green. Lots of bird poo so be careful where you sit on the grass. River water is black and smells.
Love our parks in and around Adelaide. Great spot for walks, picnics and going along with the family. Please never spoil any of our parklands with hotels and new development
On the Torrens River, lots of grass to sit on and run around on. Near Koffee ink Cafe, paddle boats, walking and bike tracks
Elder Park is adjacent to the Festival Centre, across the Torrens River from Adelaide Oval and close to the city centre and Adelaide Railway Station.
Had a great 5k walk for #TheBigRedKidneyWalk it was a beautiful day for it and a great space to have a picnic with the family
The premier park of Adelaide in picturesque settings and a prime location. Well worth the visit even if intending to visit other attractions in the area. There's virtually no shade except for a rotunda, so be sure to wear a hat and take sunscreen if you find yourself there particularly on a sunny day.
