Delhi Spice Indian Restaurant reviews
54The food was not up to expectations and when told to the chef they argued instead of understanding.
The chef does not know how to take criticism and argued instead of tasting the food that was stale
The worst (by a long margin) Indian food I have had in Adelaide. Tandoori Chicken was not prepared in Tandoor, rather it was heated in microwave and served. Prawns Masala seemed like they heated their tomato base (which was not cooked, barely warmed I guess) with capsicum and prawns. When I rang them to share my feedback and disappointment, I was told that I should have included a note along with my order to suggest the food should be prepared in Indian style. I guess, ordering food from an Indian restaurant, that was a given. I must say, the person on the call acknowledged the feedback and mentioned that they normally cook for non-indian clients (to appeal to Anglo palettes) and also offered to make the next order complimentary. While I appreciate the offer, I won’t be ordering from here again. This was the first and for sure the last time.
This is the hidden gem of adelaide. Best indian restaurant in australia. Had butter chicken, prawn masala, goat curry and the chesse naan love the flavours and quality. Keep it up team Delhi spice
Quite good. Food is always nice. We ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, Tandoori Chicken Tikka Masala, Saffron rice and a garlic Naan bread. It took half an hour for our order to arrive which was longer than expected, but they seemed very busy, and the portion sizes weren't that big. However they were enough for two people.
It cost us about $40 for two people including a fruit juice which was reasonable.
Overall pretty happy.
Not worth visiting this place for dine in at least. Poor service. Good is not tasty at all. Zero ambience. Everything messed around everywhere.
Let's start with the good - well priced and excellent friendly service with a small warm quaint atmosphere and after hearing some great feedback from friends my family gave it a shot.
Now the bad part - Oh how disappointing delhi spices food was, watery & bland just completely flavourless this would be definitely the second worst meals I've ever eaten. Sorry for the horrible review after receiving such friendly service but the food was truly terrible, let's hope this is an accident and not the usual quality served to customers but unfortunately won't be returning to try again.
Delicious food. Amazing service. Fantastic customer service. Great prices. Did I say delicious food? Best Indian I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favour and try Delhi Spice. You won’t be disappointed.
Delhi spice is my favourite restaurant in Adelaide. Had dinner there today and it was delicious. Goat masala was Soo tender it was melted in my mouth, butter chicken had right balance of cream and sweetness, beef vindaloo was hot as I expected and I loved it and at last naan bread cheese and garlic is the best. Love Delhi spice keep up the good work
I had Delhi spice about 6 weeks ago and it was pretty good, hence why I thought I'd order it again. But the food tonight was so watered down, some mouthfuls tasted worse than eating plain rice due to too much water. I guess it is father's day so maybe they added water to make it go further, but at what cost?
I ordered on their website at 5: 55pm for a 7pm delivery, didn't get the food till after 7: 30pm. Delivery notification was confusing, there was one for order ready, then one for order complete 15 minutes later yet, which I assumed to be order delivered? The food didn't arrive for another 15 minutes after that.
My regular restaurant, been there several times. Good South Asian food with good masala. Be aware of spicy if you can have them.
First off the food is a great price. I loved the vinderloo - normally they come too mild but Delhi Spice has finally got the heat right. The cheese garlic naan is delicious.
Worst Indian food ever.
Worst biryani of all time.
Worst tandoori.
Plenty of food colouring.
0 stars.
Just moved into the area and have have ordered take out a couple of times. Loving the food especially at their prices. Now I love my rice so my only reason for not giving them 5 stars is their rice is just not hitting the mark and for an Indian restaurant this an area they should excel. Not a big deal, just looking for perfection. Definitely will be back.
Always delicious. Tonight we had tandoori chicken, lamb korma, steamed rice and a cheese naan bread. It feels like second home for us. Thank you.
Ordered food and drinks. Everything arrived by time as directed. Perfectly severed. But the issue with this place is, it’s very busy at all times need booking and sometimes they out of booking
Really delicious! First time trying it tonight and the food was delicious! Some of the best naan I've had in a while and the butter chicken was amazing! It actually had more than two pieces of chicken in it which was a nice change. The samosas were a little mild for my taste but they were still delicious. Low price tag with an expensive flavour!
I had it yesterday, The waiting was long.
I ordered 2 different dishes they tasted the same. And thr flavor was not great.
Excessive use of food color. And I have a lot of concerns on the level of hygiene in the place.
Thank you, but will never go back.
My favourite got-to Indian restaurant!
Great tasting food, friendly staff and AFFORDABLE!
I order chicken karai we were 4 people.
The food was too salty. Don’t like that but the staff are very friendly.
They charge us 20% less as well
