Recommend the $35 Express Lunch menu that is available on Thursday's and Friday's from 12: 00pm to 2: 00pm. You get a main plus a glass of house wine, beer or a soft drink.
I had the beef brisket and it was delicious.
The service seems to be a little slow compared to when I visited there regularly between 2016-2018.

Possibly the worst service I have experienced for sometime. When you charge premium prices for average meals, you must deliver on the service and our experience was nothing short of dreadful.on pretty much every level. Management need to own training their staff.

I will never dine here again!

Best steak in Adelaide thus far. All food was delicious especially the scotch fillet and the sticky date pudding, flavour explosion! Atef is an amazing host, very attentive and accommodating - he’s an asset to your establishment. Great service all round.

Absolute outstanding service. Food was exceptional.

Had the heirloom tomatoes and buratta was fresh entre and well balanced

The chicken and truffle was slightly underseasoned and didn't really taste the truffle. However the chicken was moist.

Steak was exceptional

My partner and I went for date night here.
He got the steak which was alright. I got the lobster pasta which was okay until I tried to eat some of the “half lobster” on the side which was EMPTY, so I tried to crack some of the legs, once I did it was completely raw. Brought this to the waiters attention who then took it back to the kitchen and said he would replace with a cooked one. Waiter then came back and said the chef said “the lobster was just for decoration” in which I replied in the money i am paying ($89) I would expect the lobster on the side to have some meat in it (the amount of lobster I received in the actual pasta was about a tablespoon) I then received which I believed to be the manager saying we can offer you a dessert or drink. We opted to just have a discount on the bill.
Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in this place.

Adding to this the front of house staff only seemed interested in focusing on the larger group tables.

Celebrated our 25th anniversary here. We were treated to Champaign on arrival which was a lovely touch. Ordered the tomahawk steak and was told it could take up to 45min to cook depending on preference. Really appreciated the heads up but was happy to wait. Steak was out well before that estimate and was cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed the meal. Had fries as a side but found the truffle flavour a little overpowering for our tastes.

Would highly recommend a visit

My partner and myself visited Coal Cellar + Grill last night for our anniversary as it was recommended to us to go there but honestly was pretty disappointed. Staff/service was a bit awkward and just felt really forced if I’m honest.we ordered two cocktails, one being the passionfruit margarita and I think the other one was called down under, both were good. The food is where we were really disappointed. We ordered fries and the teriyaki chicken skewers, the fries were good but the chicken was a bit whatever smelt good but the flavour didn’t really match the smell. We then ordered two medium rare scotch fillet steaks with creamy peppercorn sauce.both our steaks was almost rare, extremely chewy, hard to eat and super bland. We left a lot of the steak left as there was so much fat on it (which usually I don’t mind too much but this was inedible). The creamy peppercorn sauce was pretty bland too. I have heard the seafood is good here but we aren’t really seafood people so don’t think we will ever come back here again unfortunately: (

The food is incredible alongside with a comprehensive wine list.
The service was woeful and the person serving us had no idea on the wine list or food.
I am dissatisfied with that part but overall worth trying.

I enjoyed a 2.5 hour lunch with 10 of my colleagues. Service was impeccable - friendly, focused, helpful, and knowledgeable. Then the food came, we all ordered different plates and every dish looked and tasted delicious. I had the succulent kingfish starter followed by the flavoursome barramundi, and finished with delightful pavlova. The photos say it all.

It takes an hour for our main course to come after we finished our entree.all other people ordered same food after us got their meal come early than us. The main course is such a disaster! The worst pasta I ever tried in Adelaide. I recommend if you’re not a traveller live in Hilton who lazy to go out, don’t try this restaurant. Otherwise you gonna have a very good memorable night!

Went here with partner as we had a room at the Hilton. Dinner was included in the package.

The waiter looked to have scoffed at us when we said we had a table booked and asked for us to wait as he called security to make sure we're the right people. In my experience in the past at other hotels, they usually have a list of the people's rooms that have specific packages and they ask for your room number. This time though, we had to wait 10 minutes before being seated.

When we got seated he didn't give us a drinks menu only until another waitress came to us and kindly asked if we needed anything.

Food on the package menu we had was different than the regular menu so couldn't choose what we wanted. That's understandable. Food quality was below average where the potato wasn't fully roasted, the chicken portions were quite small and no other seasonings. Would suggest they might need a little salt/pepper if you do ask.

The express lunch is a great way to experience high quality food and service at a great price.
I've attended for dinner as well and the great service and quality of food is consistent across the board. Booking ahead are definitely recommended

Ordered the June winter special 400gram rib eye on bone, beef brisket and chips. Knife provided was blunt. Food came out cold. Rib eye was cold and chewy. Bone probably weighed 300 grams. Chips came out 20 minutes after mains were received and were also cold waiter most likely forgot to bring them out with the mains. Brisket was average. Would not come back.

The person who booked was not informed that we would be forced onto a set menu above 10 people. So all 14 of us were expecting to be able to order from a variety of steaks off the regular menu as we were coming for the purpose of having steak. We were quite upset when presented with the set menu that had only one choice of steak. The manager explained that the chef would not allow us to compromise by allowing some of us to order from the regular menu, and so we were forced to take their offer of a
Second set menu which had a selection of steak. We were also made to feel that we should be grateful for this generous accomodation by the chef. With already a sour taste in my mouth from the poor hospitality, they proceeded to take our orders for steak asking us how we should like them cooked. I asked how the chef recommends and was told medium rare. The bread was then served but we were not given plates. We had to ask for plates and some people could not wait and had crumbs all over their clothes. After awhile the manager came back and explained that due to generously allowing us to order different steaks the chef would no longer be allowing us to order them in the manner for which we should like to eat them, but rather only medium rare or well done. We chose medium rare. The entrees came out and were enjoyable and looked nice and then the steaks came and they also looked good. But it was clear that my steak was cooked medium and not medium rare. Thankfully I enjoy steak medium and it was a delicious steak. Overall the food was good, the service was abysmal. Really made to feel unwelcome and not at all what I would expect from a restaurant at the Hilton.

Incredible food and service.
I had the eye fillet and my friend had the rump - both cooked to perfection!
Staff were friendly and attentive.
Will definitely be back!

Super nice experience up until we asked why we were served a 2017 wine instead of 2015 (we ordered the 2015).

Atef came to our table to ‘tell us’ that the 2017 was more expensive than the 2015 and he’s happy to alter our bill to more if we wanted. Super rude. The bill stated a ‘15.

Unfortunate ending. What was a nice dining experience, dampened by a bad reaction to a pretty straight forward query. Order ‘15, receive ‘17 with no mention. Query when bill still says ‘15. Try again.

Great tasting food, I will have to put this restaurant on my list of favourites. Service was amazing and the restaurant looks great.
