Absolutely wonderful service from Ainslie and Grace for our family get together in the Sports bar last week which was a group of just over 30 of us. Nothing was too much trouble. Very responsive in the lead up when I had any questions or concerns. Such care was taken to make it special for us and I got a lovely surprise to see that Ainslie had also set up a cake table in our theme. There is a decent selection of food in the Sports Bar and we found it to have a good vibe with friendly patrons. Was a great night which everyone enjoyed.

We quite often eat in the dining room and I have always found the staff to be warm and welcoming. The menu has a range of good honest pub dishes with a few specialties added to the mix which our family enjoys. I really miss their salad and veg bar that used to be a part of the dining room because it was the best one around but understandably this isn't a possibility in the current climate. Thanks for being a welcoming place where we can get together with the family and make these memories.

I paid $20 dollars to see Mr Buzzy and Clearway play at this hotel last Saturday night.my friend and I walked in saw a function of a 50th birthday finishing up. There were decorations on free stand up tables.but no RESERVED SIGNS. As soon as we got our drinks and placed them on a free table.a lady came up an d said this is our table and we are here for a 50th.and stated she was coming back to claim this table.we watched her go back and sat down another table.we were quite surprised.after a while she came back (just before band was about to start) with a male in her company.at this point we were starting to feel quiet uncomfortable and wasn’t sure what the outcome would be. We felt threatened and uneasy as we did not know were else to stand or place our drinks as the room was quite full by that time.the table had no one there at the start hence that’s where we placed our drinks. This lady was also approaching other people stating her claim of the 50th.with this concern.we all started chatting and felt quite uncomfortable. I started telling the security guard.unfortunately it wasn’t taken seriously with the security guard.the evening was quite uncomfortable. I wish the hotel would of at least put up some room dividers or signs that we were not welcome in certain areas. I also talked to the bar tender and she passed me on to the security guard.won’t be going there again as they really don’t care.later in the smoke room we overheard this lady saying the security guard was her friend. I thought a guard job was to protect and observe and not have a power status.disgusting attitudes. Sorry we crashed your 50th.but the hotel dining section should be a bit more organized when they have a function and band for the public on the same night. We did not feel comfortable as we didn’t know what this lady was capable of and how far she was going to go.very awkward ambience around the place.we just left in dismay

Food was fantastic, disappointed that we had a group of 8 and were rushed eating our dinner so they could pack up our tables for the bands to start, a few of us left our half eaten meals, then we were told we may not get a table to stand at for the band.
Simply must be a better way.

Everytime we visit it never changes. The food is always ok without being outstanding. Staff are always friendly and nice to talk to.

Such a shame to see the quality of food has gone really gone downhill over the last few years. The barramundi was a very small serve with extremely bland salsa and a separate salad on the side with a small plastic salad dressing container plonked on top is pretty ordinary! Unfortunately the ribs weren't much better.

Food was good, staff are great, music fabulous, shame about no dance floor and you have to dance on carpet. Not ideal.

Had lunch with a group of 10. They didn't record 1/2 of our meals so no meals for over 1 1/4 hours. One person couldn't wait any longer so packaged in a take away. Received 3 sorry. Wish them well in future.

Waited for around an hour for our meals. 3 out of 4 meals were cold (shnitty, pork rib and chicken pie) told the staff, all meals were redone yet the chicken pie was still cold for the second time. I received a refund for that meal yet no offer of a substitute meal was given, so I just sat there watching the others eat.
Staff were very friendly and apologetic but unfortunately I didn't go there for the staff i went there for a meal.
NOT IMPRESSED.

Wife and I both had the Fish and Chips. Chips were okay. Fish was very tough and tasteless. Prices are way too high for what you get. Most, if not all hotels, charge way too much for their meals which is ridiculous because they make $millions from the Pokies. They are just plain greedy. Port Anchor is a great hotel

Travelers not welcome at the Clovercrest hotel.on Thursday 11.3.21, it was a warm sunny day when I attended the front bar around 1 p.m, only 5 patrons were in the front bar. I was served by a tattooed female named Ainsley. I had a pint of beer and a game of 8ball. I noticed a sign on the bar in the pool room advertising a burger and meal deal for $17.50. The last time I ate there about ten months ago the food was not edible and when I complained I was asked to leave so I skipped lunch this time. I returned to my motorhome and parked it in a shady carpark at the rear of the hotel. I was about to return for a second pint of beer when a man wearing a thirsty camel T shirt knocked on my door and informed me the police had been called and I must leave the carpark at the request of the manager. I moved my van across the road to the shopping center and returned to the hotel and asked to talk to the manager. Ainsley appeared as the manager and I asked if I was banned from the hotel.no she said I was not banned but that she did not want me loitering in the carpark. I asked why the police were called and she said that was because she was alone in the office and she thought I had been camping in the carpark because I was driving a campervan. She said I could attend the hotel but was not aloud to park in the carpark at all. I suggested that this was rude, prejudice and discriminatory as I was only at the hotel for less than an hour. She said that because I had attended the hotel the day before she did not know if I had been there overnight. I suggested I was there not yesterday but the day before and I parked in the carpark of the shopping center that day. I said that she had falsely assumed I was camping in the carpark and that since I was not being aloud to park in the carpark at all while attending the hotel and I was not banned from the hotel that I would, 'black ban' the hotel and would not return to the hotel. Ainsley then walked off suggesting she did not care. I then left the hotel without further adieu, feeling aggrieved at this rude, discriminatory treatment I had been subjected to because I was driving a motorhome. As a result I do not think Ainsley is management material and I feel her inhospitable behavior is incompatible with hospitality industry standards. I suggest travelers would be welcome at the Highbury hotel on the corner of Valley road and Lower Northeast road were the staff are friendly and the food is good. The beer and burger deal is only ten dollars at the Highbury hotel and the food is good. I send a giant, 'woe' to the Clovercrest hotel and will continue my negative review of it on other forums. [p.s. No wonder the place looked deserted. ] BLACKBANNED!
