Clovercrest Hotel reviews
57The shanghai ribs tasted great, but the serving size was to small. The fish and chips were lovley, so was the chicken snitty the chicken curry was nice but not enough sauce so it made it a bit dry. But myself and my family loved it and will definitely come back
A great environment that serves standard pub meals; the newly renovated pub is a great place for some drinks and vibes with friends
I've really been appreciating Adelaide's new trend amongst pubs; namely, renovated pubs introducing a great sitting environment for a prolonged state. The same holds for the Clovercrest - a longstanding pub that's recently undergone an amazing renovation that begs for a group of mates to sit in and enjoy a few beers whilst watching the footy
The thing that I'm noticing with a lot of these places is that their food is pretty standard for pub foods. For me, this is great because roots are still being appreciated; however, some may come expecting more
Overall though, great time out and love seeing the growing trend - will be back for some beers, for sure
Food was nice but nothing to make it stand out from any other pub now that the salad bar is gone. Preferred dining area the way it was. Place was understaffed as it was a busy Saturday night and the woman on checkout quite unfriendly. Meals we had werent exactly generous for the price. Would only go back if I was already in the area.
Caught up with some friends for a meal. Seemed to be a bit of a struggle to book a table considering the average pub food that was offered, felt a bit overrated.
Light, bright and delightful renovations provided great atmosphere for evening meal. Food good and a good menu to cover all tastes plus prices excellent. Service staff were friendly and engaging - keep up the excellent work team! Definitely a venue to try for lunch or dinner and you wont be disappointed with the total package on offer.
Visited for second time (after 25 years) - was very impressed with the decor and ambiance. The staff were very efficient and friendly. My family and myself loved the menu varieties and the food itself, would recommend to anybody. Well done.
It's pretty hard recommend this restaurant after a fried moth was found in my family food
With the new updated pub and dinning area this is a great little gem in the suburbs. Fantastic staff, good food and great atmosphere
Recent renovations have really paid off. This place looks great. Very open, relaxed kind of vibe. Service was quick and friendly and the food was GREAT. I always get pizza, and this one was fantastic.
Hats off to the new Chef. We both ordered the same meal (12 hour slow cooked beef brisket) and it was one of the best we have ever had at the Clovey. Ainsley was just as welcoming as always. She is a breath of fresh air in the bar.
Deborah and David.
Nice renno. Let down by the service. Very slow and appears not enough staff. Its a Tuesday nite and stood in line for 15 minutes to order food. I will fall asleep b4 the meal arrives. I'm adding another comment. 45 min for 2 schnitties on a Tues nite is a bit much. It hasn't arrived yet. Sad.
The recently renovated pub looks amazing. The food was delicious and even better because they did pizzas well! Not many pubs can do this that's for sure. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The out door area would be perfect for events and would highly recommend having a look and a lovely meal. We'll be back that's for sure!
The newly renovated interior is very upmarket, Great food, excellent service and fair prices
Had a meal in the newly renovated restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful. Had the steak which was amazing. Can't wait to go back!
I had a booking last night for my wife Birthday dinner in the newly built restaurant, With our friends. We waiting for our meal about 45 minutes I order the fish of the day for $28 over cooked not very nice at all! 4 meals order and the meals all over cooked.
Very bad experience.
Going back to the Modbury Hotel.
The meal was excellent, not a long wait, very clean and service was friendly, definitely coming back, steak was cooked exactly how I like it
False advertising. The website had it listed as $18.90 Wednesday steak night as a dining room special. This was also asked when our booking was placed. When we came in for dinner they mentioned this was only for bar purchase.
Will definitely go back to the plaza hotel in future
The worst dining experience I have had in some time. The ‘new’ dining room is packed and congested. I went there with an elderly relative with a walker who struggled to navigate the dining room. Not very user friendly for those with a disability or mobility issues. The dining room looked as though it had been furnished by IKEA. The new menu is bland and over priced. Prices have risen but choice is restricted. My son ordered Bao buns which he had to assemble himself, never expected to be doing the cooks job for them. Use to enjoy getting oysters but the price is ridiculous for only 4 oysters, use get a half dozen for same prize. Will now look elsewhere for family meals. Don’t waste your time or money on the over priced pretentious offering.
Food was good. Manager lady stood there having a conversation/laugh with bar staff and looking at her phone instead of serving me, did the same thing to my father also.
Disappointing. I gave an extra star as it is new and very nice looking dining area. But the food was not up to scratch. Potatos were served almost raw, if you're serving Yorkshire puddings with a roast, it needs gravy.
