Chianti reviews
75Attended a private function upstairs. Friendly courteous and extremely good wait personnel. Set menu offered great selection and quality. I chose pork croutons, eye filet steak and the tiramisu. Shaw and Smith 2022 Riesling and Jeff Merrill CabSav. A lovely evening.
Very tasty food and excellent service. We opted for shared menu, and the amount of food is enough to make you feel full at the end of the day. Great venue if you are looking for private room to cater your social events or meetings.
Top restaurant, lovely service, best foods! Made our place in Adelaide worthwhile! Thanks team Chianti
Absolutely incredible experience. Took my Fiancè here for our anniversary - the service was great, the atmosphere was romantic and professional and the food was absolutely top tier. Yes it's expensive, but far out you get what you pay for! Their potato side dish was crispy and delicious, the antipasti was fresh and the main I got - garfish - was the best resteraunt meal I have ever had, with so many flavours and quality ingredients. Will definitely be back!
Best ever lunch. So good we went back the next day. Exceptional service, incredible food. Would definitely recommend.
The food was a 1/10 at most. The restaurant charged premium prices for flavourless food. No wonder there’s an emphasis on drinks as you’d have to be drunk to enjoy it…
Had high expectations but unfortunately the food was quite bland, especially for the expensive price.
Surprise birthday function in the upstairs dining room the Gallo Nero. Vicki was amazingly helpful and accommodating with all our requests. Canope food was delicious, glowing reviews from our foodie friends. Outstanding service from the professional and friendly staff. The venue made this a night to remember.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening at Chianti with delicious food, attentive service and a delightful atmosphere. A perfect date night venue - Chianti offers relaxed pace where going out for dinner still has a sense of occasion and you're not hustled out the door to make way to the next table. The pasta and specials are outstanding. Highly recommended.
I have been going here since it was Mona Lisa’s bistro. Sleepier then it used to be, but still OK
Very consistent food. A great wine selection. Service is excellent. Nicely decked out inside with a good sized outside dining area.
The food here is amazing. I've been a few of times and every time it is perfect. To be fair though, you do pay for the quality! Expect a fair dent in your wallet after a visit, but you won't leave upset. The portions might seem small in comparison to other restaurants, particularly Italian ones, but if you're making it an experience, you'll still leave pleasantly full. Between 4 we ordered a serve of focaccia, half a dozen oysters, 4 mains, 2 sides and 4 desserts. No one left hungry and everyone left with a smile. Service was exceptional!
Fantastic food, wine and service. Highly recommended. Everything was on point. Never ceases to amaze.
Wonderful food, great wine list, excellent service. If you like Italian, this restaurant is a must! Within walking distance of central city.
I will start with the bad point, which was only one and not related to the food.
Booking: When booking, there was an option to select any special occasion. I selected “anniversary” and explained that it would be our 5th year marriage anniversary celebration at Chianti. However, when getting there, there was absolutely nothing extra (flowers, champagne, or a special cake). I would gladly pay for any extra service, but why put an option in the booking if you are not doing anything different for the guests regardless if there is a special occasion or not?
Staff: extremely friendly and always asking if the food was good or if we needed anything else. Enough to make us feel cared about, but at the same time not too much to annoy us. I was more than happy to tip him 10% for the exceptional service. My glass was always full, so that’s a plus.
Food: the quantity was just enough to satisfy me, but not enough to feel completely full. In my point of view, it is the perfect amount. Ingredients and quality are beyond words. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked. There was nothing that we felt like “meh or could have been better”.
Service: 10 points just for having a sharpened knife. I’ve been to places where the knife could not even cut butter… also, the timing between plates was perfect. Not to soon so we could appreciate the food we just ate between plates, but not too long either to make us feel impatient.
Value: it is not cheap if you considered amount of food VS price. However the quality of the food and the friendly staff makes you feel that it was worth every single cent.
Overall, it is a great Italian cuisine choice. Would definitely recommend for a romantic dinner or for business
Have just enjoyed a great Christmas Lunch prepared by Chianti finished on the day by me.
Superb scallops on shell and wagyu brisket to "die for". Well done Chianti!
We checked online for opening hr but the kitchen was closed when we arrived, should update online.
This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Adelaide. Chianti lead by Maria is amazing, on service, food and wine list. We have celebrated many milestone birthdays at Chianti and loved it every time. Not cheap, but worth every $ and more! Could not fault the food, service and outstanding enjoyment from visiting this restaurant.

REVIEW:
Really seamless experience. A front entry with carpeted flooring makes you feel luxurious, then we were promptly greeted and seated. Although, we were seated in an awkward area away from people.unsure if we were ostracised because we came in wearing masks?
We eventually had people sit near us towards the end of our service though!
Food was great. The kingfish tartare with its finely sliced, natural light flavour combined with the refreshing sensation of cucumber really made it a fantastic entree. I expected it to come sliced, but having it presented similar to a wagyu tartare was also fun.
My friend and I split the main pasta dishes. He loved his vongole, and I loved my cassarecce - too bad it was only a special! It had everything I like, and reminds me of a cacio e pepe except more decadent with the truffle.
Chianti was great, but do wish they didn't give my friend with a stained fork on arrival.
The best Italian food I have ever had. The service is exceptional. A special shout out to Elsa who was serving our table.
