Cafe Komodo. reviews
59 Great staff, chilled vibe, hidden alleyway access, pet friendly, cover bands comedians and more.
Staff are super friendly and I can't wait to come back with the puppy and Mum.
Food is good, not great. Prices are high for the food quality but right for the area. Ambiance is nice but not matched to the price point of the Cafe.
I recently celebrated my 50th birthday party at Cafe Komodo. The staff were outstanding, the food was delicious, the wine selection was fabulous and the overall atmosphere was just what I was hoping for. Sincere thanks for making it such a special occasion. You went above and beyond and we were very grateful.
Quirky little cafe with indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Retro decor full of character.
Food is good and well prepared.
Prices are not cheap but appropriate for the quality/quantity of the food offerings and about on par with most other places these days.
Lovely brunch here with a friend. I had the shakshouka - delicious and filling.
Very quirky vibe, very comfortable and good setting for a chat.
That was the best birthday party ever! Didn't have to worry about anything, we all had so much fun, incredible ambience, fabulous food and staff catering for everyone.perfect venue, inside and out!
I held my 50th birthday celebration at Cafe Komodo recently and couldn't have wished for a better experience. Andrew and his staff were just AMAZING - the indoor/outdoor venue, the stage, the dancefloor, the friendly bar service, the food, all top notch.
10/10
Tucked away off Prospect Road is a tiny Cafe full of old record and covers, some other antiques and lots of ambience
What can I say? A perfect venue to have a 60th Birthday Party. Retro plus and everything in between. Andrew you have an outstanding venue and go well and truly above and beyond. Forever memories are made and I'm sure everyone who attended will be talking about the night, for a long time. I know I will. Everything you did, from meeting with us and sharing your experiences on what would work.was spot on! To your chef and front of house staff.you, your food and service was amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend your business to others as you exceeded all our expectations.
What an amazing place to celebrate my 60th birthday. Wonderful hosts, lovely staff and delicious food.
They made the night a resounding success and I would recommend to anyone looking for a funky place to celebrate any occasion.
Thank you guys for helping make the night memorable.
Always love going to Cafe Komodo, never had a bad experience here and the food is always super tasty.
Nice retro vibe and a hidden gem in prospect
Bronwyn, Andrew and their team made my 40th birthday a truly special night. Komodo is a fantastic party venue, especially when live music is involved.
Missing the old Komodo! Staff are always lovely warm and welcoming but I think some of the new items are a let down
Great service, staff were amazing, awesome atmosphere owners were outstanding. Food was very Yummy and Delicious made our celebration a night full of wonderful memories ️
Every time I visit, the food is delicious. They serve excellent coffee. It's a fabulous venue!
Beautiful food and love the home made apple Vodka Martini although it would be nice if you kept the cocktail in the same glass other then that love the vibes and great staff c:
Hadn't been for a while, so happy to find it even better than before! Fresh, flavoursome, uncomplicated and delicious!
Nice quirky coffee shop hidden away down a lane way, food is delicious and the coffee very nice.
Will definitely go back there again
Great food and good coffee, fantastic aesthetic and vibe. Lovely staff and well priced. I used to come here back in 2011 or so as a teenager and this was my first visit since then and it is better than ever!
Saturday 'brunch' was not an ideal experience. Granted it was busy, it could have been a better customer experience. I'm also disappointed my feedback email wasn't acknowledged.
It took a long time to receive our order - and the meals came out 10 minutes apart.
SERVICE - Not customer focussed.
At no time were we told to expect a wait, there was no apology for the wait, nor for the meals coming out so delayed from each other. Some service staff were aloof.
FOOD - Not good enough.
Bacon and eggs - The toast was dry, hard and cold, the bacon was dry, hard and cold (like it was sitting in a Bain Marie for hours). The poached eggs were good. There was no wilted spinach, only a minor amount of stringy cress stalks.
Vegan Scramble - no where on the menu did it say it was a thick coconut cream sauce, it lacked flavour and it was over salted. There was no relish. I was given the bread ends that were drowned in sauce. There was no wilted spinach, only a minor amount of stringy cress stalks.
I had good meals and service here several years ago but talking with others since this recent visit I hear my experience is not isolated.
