Cafe De Vilis reviews
72The service is usually ok but my last visit the staff were more interested in their staff party preparation than serving. We walked out.
Was super busy but the ladies behind the counter handled the craziness well! I’m always happy to wait if the customer service is great.
I went there and had a pasty which was nice. I took my retainer out and wrapped it in a serviet while i ate. I left 30 minutes later i realised i left my retainer on the table i rang them and was told its gone in the bin.i then desided to go there and ask if i could look through the bin or even take that rubish bag and was told the bag was gone. They must be very good to have thrown the bag out at 10.30 in the morning. They didn't care that my retainer cost $600.very disappointing
It's a terrific place for a quick and easy / cheap price to eat. Really popular and often busy. This makes it tricky to keep the tables clear / clean. The staff do their best but it's hard to keep up. Cheap and cheerful place for the whole family.
Revised rating: food is good but wait times for dine in / takeout can get lengthy even when not busy.
Over half an hour wait for fish and chips with only 12 tables of people
Food was absolutely fantastic made fresh and the service was great staff very friendly and the store was kepted well clean
Went to Villis for a late supper two nights ago, usually have great food but tonight the chips were cold and floury, was really disappointed
Casual. Love villis pies. From Brisbane and a must every time I visit Adelaide. Chips and gravy the best!
Usually love villis but I ordered a vegeterian pasty, and they stuck the sauce bottle inside of the pasty which they do with the meat pastys aswell.
We had a lovely bacon and poached eggs Benedict on a croissant and a bacon and egg roll special for breakfast at 9.30 am. Service was excellent, friendly and polite. Thank you. However a staff member was sweeping the floor the whole time we were eating. Dust flying everywhere. I know the floor needs to be clean but not when there are customers eating.
Twice in a row they have given us the wrong order and not given us what we have asked for, the bacon tasted like beef jerky and like it had been reheated a few times, we waited both times for way too long for our simple order, will definitely not be going back or recommending this place till they clean their act up!
Love this vilis. The schnitzel with kransky topper is simply perfection. The gravy is God's juice. The staff are wonderful and the dining is always nice and clean.
I came to this place a couple days ago and I loved the pies and the pasties and the dessert. It was delicious and I would come here everyday if I could. The fact that they open 24 hours is amazing and you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I definitely recommend Villi's.
Great place after dinner for a quick dessert which doesn't give you a time frame to dine due to group dynamics of availability of when friends can get together.my favourite is the old classic kitchener bun.yummy.
Friend asked me to bring some Vili’s back interstate. Called vilis to order 30 pies ahead cold to transport. For 30 pies they wanted $160. That’s $5.20 a pie. What a dead set rip off
Took over 20 minutes for a roll and when I asked about it, she passed me a random one sitting on the counter for the past 10 minutes.
I've been coming here for the past three years but in within the last four months the quality has sadly declined significantly. I believe some of the staff that were keeping this place alive have moved on.
Orders are now frequently wrong, overcooked, undercooked, or cold. Customer service is often unprofessional, rushed and lacking. These elements have also compounded the fact that things that would have otherwise been overlooked before are now taking center stage.
For example, the Eggs Benedict Croissant (which used to be my goto favourite) costs $2.05 LESS than Scrambled Eggs on Toast. There is no reasonable explanation for this, it would be cheaper and far less time consuming for the kitchen to make one than the other, yet the simpler option costs more. Baffling.
Another example of odd pricing is the Milkshake. It's $8. Yes, that is correct. For only 95c more you can enjoy two poached eggs on a freshly baked croissant with three slices of bacon, cheese, and and a good 3/4 of hollandaise. Or you could get the former, milk and syrup of your choice.
Staffing, pricing, and standards need to be serious re-evaluated before I would consider coming back here.
Until then, I shall go to the O'Connell Street Bakery that has performed at an incredibly high at all hours of the day since I can remember.
Save your money, go somewhere else.
DONT GO. Go to Mile End they have manner and they care about there food. I wouldnt let a child eat there soggy bread I wouldn't allow human to ingested there gluggy gravy. AS SUPPORTERS FOR TWO DECADES. DISGRACEFUL
Couldn't eat parmi big thick piece of ham on it and doesn't say on menu it came with ham waste of money
