British Hotel reviews
76This is a cosy pub around the corner of our office. The service is good, the staff are usually very nice, sometimes nicer! The food is usually very tasty and well presented. Typically good choice of beer on tap. It is slightly pricy, although within the price range of most pubs in North Adelaide!
One of the best pubs in Adelaide and one of the only pubs that really feels like a British pub. Love the open fire in winter. Food and beverages top notch. Staff always friendly and helpful.
We try and pop in for a beer there, everytime we come to Adelaide. Good feed to be had too. Nice little pub, no pokies, which is a bonus.
Staff very friendly
Can highly recommend
This is where you come if you want food that tickles the taste buds mmmmm
perfectly cooked and fresh
Highly recommended! The sirloin steak I ordered was cooked to absolute perfection and the roast potatoes were fabulous! Only downside and thing stopping it from being a perfect 10 out of 10 would be the lack of additional vegetables/ greens, which you shouldn’t have to order with the meal separately. Damn good otherwise, will be back again soon, cheers!
Fantastic pie, pasta but the salmon.although nice was a touch overdone. The wine was heat affected
Didn't spend a lot of time there but what little I did I liked it. Service was good and I felt the pub had an old school vibe that I really enjoyed.
First choice when we need an upmarket pub with homely feel. Never had a bad meal or bad experience for that matter. Always great customer service and food.
It is definitely the best restaurant for families in Adelaide. Beautiful environment, great service, and tasty food. We were so impressed that they provided colouring book, juice, and ice cream with kids meal and our kids were so happy with their food and they had a great time there. We will definitely come back again.
Food was pretty good but service was terrible. Took ages for them to take our order. Had to keep asking for drinks rather than them offering. Probably wouldn’t go back based on my experience.
Absolutely shocking table service.went their for our Christmas dinner. We had this young girl taking our order.was very rude rolling her eyes no patient's.once I confronted her she said I was rude and stormed off. I was left with no apology we will never go back there.never have I experienced a waitress ever like that.
Awesome food. Staff need to watch what they wear tho.not that great being able to see someones underwear when they are serving food
Fabulous experience today for lunch. Meals from specials board chicken schnitzel were outstanding both for taste and value. King fish and the scallops to die for! Service very good and not intrusive. Eating area out the back is charming with lots of greenery and fab planters. This quaint old hotel is such a sweet back in time journey with a very layback vibe. Will return and not leave it so long till next time! Well done everyone!
Nice setting and nice food, about pricy for the salmon, but the food was nice wasn't expecting that price for a pub, but the outter back looks nice renovated to a modem surrounding, great staff working there.
Not your average pub. The British has a charm of it's own with the atmosphere maintaining it's history. Our party of 4 chose to dine here on a bleak Winters day the dining area was comfortable. Service was excellent and we felt welcome.
We chose the Tapas starters to share and enjoyed it although just know if you don't prefer things a little spicy you may want something else. We loved it. A combination of much of what was on offer on the menu and would gladly repeat the choice.
Mains were Scotch fillet from the grill, salt and pepper squid and beef guinness pie.
The beef was cooked as ordered, medium rare and served with chat potatoes (did find the potatoes a bit cold so could have been warmer) and served with a mushroom Jus
Salads and vegetables are an added extra so don't overlook them.
The wine list is reasonably extensive and are at restaurant prices so don't expect them for bottle shop value.
Enjoyed the day and would gladly return
Friendly and attentive staff. Menu read well but somewhat underdelivered. At restaurant prices I expect restaurant quality. Restrooms appalling.
Staff were friendly and the service was excellent at a very busy time of day. Open fire and quieter areas as well as the l larger and busy dining room. Pub fare done well.
Came for Sunday lunch and we ordered the Kangaroo which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by beautiful brussel sprouts and luscious sauce (restaurant quality), the Guinness Pie was delicious but unfortunately was only warm, not left in the oven long enough. The big disappointment here is the Staff. I think they need to be given a dictionary so they can read what hospitality means. Such a let down. Also word of advice make sure you check your bill as I was billed for another table's food and drinks. Luckily I knew what I was going to pay. Sorry will not recommend the place and will not go back.
Great food and reasonable prices coupled with hot looking very nice waitresses makes me want to keep on coming back time and time again. Kudos to the management.
This is an excellent pub if you want to have a conversation, as it's quiet and cozy, with fireplaces in winter. There are some lovely craft beers on tap, and the food is delicious. Their restaurant menu is more comprehensive than their bar menu, which is streamlined but tasty.
