What a lovely little hidden away pub. The France barman was lovely. We had a really enjoyable experience and felt at home

Hotel has old world charm and character but we were disappointed on the night as no grills or steaks were available and we left to find another venue. Very disappointing for a hotel to miss almost a third of its menu.

Good pub food and good variety to choose from. Wine and beverage list offers sufficient choices. Prices are up there for food and drink. Atmosphere is pleasant, not too noisy. Staff were friendly, service was slow though.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. The food prices and drink prices are higher than I would expect.
The atmosphere in the bar area is slightly similar to a traditional British pub, with open fires etc.
The on tap beers are pretty much all local with the exception of Heineken, they are good quality.
The food is average and appears to be microwaved so in essence very similar to a lot of Wetherspoon pubs in the UK.
All in all I would visit again but just for a few beers

We attended a function in the weekend and it was a great night. The food was delicious and the staff were great.
Will be back again for sure.

Had a wonderful lunch with friends. The share platter was fantastic with house made pork pie, pate and relish. All our main meals were excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. A bit dearer than your average pub meal but well worth the cost.

Very attentive staff. No oysters. Scallops small, overcooked and overpriced. The kangaroo was quite ok. Had better experiences at he place before. I hope it wasn't a one off disappointment.

Had one of there top steaks $42 a bit on the tough side for a high priced steak, would have expected better.

We had an okay dining experience at the British Hotel. Slow serving but it may have been a once off. Sides with the steak incorrect as well as the level of cooking for the meat. Nevertheless, still a good meal

Had the Beef Guinness pie with pea mash.delish. The bar staff organised me a cocktail despite there not being a cocktail menu.well done guys.

Dinner tonight at the British. Amazing, amazing service. Food wonderful. Mentioned Blue Swimmer Crab Spaghetti had a little too much garlic for my taste, even though it was very tasteful. Management and Staff couldn't do enough for our table. Blew my mind. I have NEVER encountered such awesome personal service.
I definitely recommend a visit.

We were looking for a pub that did a good steak. The steaks were so tender and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and quick. The place has a warm, comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. We were very happy.

Great place to go for a meal and a drink. We were there for a birthday celebration and had a fantastic time. The food was good but it was the service and staff that made our visit. Wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Absolutely appalling service, we arrived at 1800 with a booking and took our seats. At 1820, we had not been asked for drinks so I went up to ask whether it would be possible to get a drink, I was told “I will be with you in a tic”. We waited another 20min and still no one came to take a drink order, despite staff standing around chatting at the counter. Such a shame, we were so looking forward to the food.

Popped in for lunch and a few beers on the recommendation of my father-in-law, and this place does not disappoint. Fantastic old building with charming decor, friendly staff and service is outstanding. Cannot recommend highly enough. I will visit every time I return to Adelaide.

What a disappointing meal! I ordered the salt and pepper squid and it was excessively fried. It was rock hard. I couldn't finish the meal. Additionally the service at the bar wasn't friendly.

Very nice meals along with some well made gins. First time I'd been here and was really impressed. The Guinness mushroom pie had so much flavour. I'd highly recommend it.

Great pub.food consistently excellent and delightful service. Great selection of steaks and tasty side dishes. Parking can be a bit difficult but worth the walk back to the pub!

Excellent range of food, great wine list, beers on tap. Staff were friendly and discreet, the food was well prepared and properly seasoned. Large groups, properly booked, are comfortably catered for

High price point but well worth it! My partner and I ordered the baby squid dish and ribs and it was probably the best meal we had in Adelaide.
