Belgian Beer Cafe Oostende reviews
73Such a cute bar. Great belgian beers plus their late night cones (fries etc) are awesome. Also the beers come in massive glasses.
Great range of belgian beers.
Update - no longer 5-stars as next to useless as refused entry by a red faced bouncer the last two times I tried to get a drink here with the weakly offered excuse that "we're at capacity" - but clearly they were really pretty empty even for covid restricted situation we are in. I'm thinking I might need to find another go-to pub. Would probably recommend people try elsewhere if you are looking for somewhere likely to actually sell you a drink.
Overpriced Beer, Slow service, average food. 1 hour wait for food on a quiet Monday lunch with only a few other customers. Hate to be there when it is busy if it took so long on a quiet day. Food didn't resemble the description on the menu. Had the "so called" Sticky Ribs! Nothing Sticky about them. They were overcooked & dry. I think they were reheated over & over. The time it took to get them they could of been cooked fresh. Maybe I went on an off day BUT won't be returning. A Lot of BETTER eating places in the area and not overpriced.
Food was great. Security staff were excellent. Bar staff should spend more time learning the stock in their fridge and how to pour a beer and less time dancing and dressing up.
Never again, rang us a few hours before our booking to say they double booked. Despite having the booking for weeks. Said we had to sit outside we meant we had the wobbliest table ever and was in a path on an angle which was were people were smoking. Then said we couldn't get table service until I jumped up and down and they reluctantly gave us a tab. Not Happy at all.
Mussels were great, schnitzel also looked good, beer's looked interesting all different sorts. When your out that way check them out for yourself.
This place was one of only a few open over an Adelaide long weekend. We loved it and we're happy to pay a surcharge. I'm sorry but I don't understand the SA mindset. Long weekend, Fringe festival happening, thousands of people yet many pubs, bars and restaurants were closed. Dumb as.
Loved it, we will be going back again soon, 400grm Rump with prawns and garlic sauce-delicious and the Atlantic Salmon was perfect. Naughtily fabulous dessert waffles too.
Wandering around Adelaide as a tourist is fun, and then you turn a corner and find the Belgian. It was off peak and very relaxing to sit back on the couches trying out a few beers. Staff were friendly. Frites were top notch too
Good beer selection but the place lacked the atmosphere that it had a few years ago - probably as you have a number of funky bars to choose from around it.
Their deserts are better than St Louis and San Churos, and they're not even a desert restaurant. Recommend the Bee sting waffles they are wicked!
Great beer, a great atmosphere, but disappointing food. Try out the beer paddle- there's a purple beer!
Lovely place with a nice terrace. We had lunch for $12 each (main+beer). All then included in the picture for just $24! (7 days a week from 12 to 3pm)
Poor quality food: small portion of Salmon, the bouillabaisse was cold and tasted only tomato sauce, small mussels and cero taste!
Only good beers
Poor drinks package. 2 meals short. Steak was inedible and only 2 drinks in four hours for an $80 food and beverage xmas show. AVOID
Fantastic atmosphere and extensive beer collection. Always worth a visit for the great lunch specials
35 minutes for a single serve of fries. They came out cold and stale. BBB returned my money. 50% full. Very poor kitchen management.
Great Belgian beers. Great drink deals. Food is a bit expensive for what it is, but overall a fun place to go.
The best Stellar beer i have ever tasted poured to perfection, the food is good this place has a holiday feel. We enjoyed
An ok place. Not everywhere is 5 star. 3 isn't a criticism, just an indicator of where it sits in the value and vibe spectrum.
