Belgian Beer Cafe Oostende reviews
73Fantastic local restraunt serving authentic Belgian Beers and local wine and beers. Tasty well prepared food. Wait staff were friendly and attentive to our needs.
Great place with plenty of excellent belgian beers to taste. Food available but didn't try any
Mussels, mayo on chips, good beer - what you'd expect, but better. Really good onion rings also.
Absolutely shocking service, waited an hour for a beer and then the waiter slammed the beer down on the table. The order was even followed up about 20 minutes after ordering and i was told "we are busy". No sorry for the wait or anything when the said beer was finally slammed and the waiter stormed off.
At there Belg there is always good vibes, lots of laughs and the staff are very friendly. Will definitely come back again soon.
0 STARS! Absolutely disgusting and sickening behaviour from staff at Belgian Beer Cafe in their treatment towards an Australian veteran who served in Afghanistan. Clearly wearing ADF medals, he was exempt for wearing a mask due to PTSD in war. The rude and aggressive staff called the police on him and claimed he was "intimidating" them. They also kicked out a group who were supporting and cheering on this Aussie HERO.
How DESPICABLE and UNAUSTRALIAN, SHAME on this disgusting business for their treatment of this poor man. He should have been treated with the upmost respect and honour for the sacrifices he has made to protect our rights and freedoms in this country. Don't give a CENT to the Belgian Beer Cafe. Already morally bankrupt, hopefully they go economically bankrupt. I feel sick to my stomach!
Hey to all the wonderful and fantastic staff of the Belgian Beer Cafe,
Firstly I want to say what an amazing place and the location is just superb, my experience there was so amazing that I have told most people I know to go there.
The staff was the sweetest and friendliest I have ever come across, I was all smiles from their vibrant personalities and just their kindness, It was a beautiful experience for me and my partner.
The food was to die for, and the atmosphere was so loving and sweet, I will recommend anyone to go here.
So thank you guys again for a wonderful time, I will be back in a heart beat xxxxxxx
Much love Brenda xxxxx
Great location, Great food, and the staff were so helpful and accommodating, with beautiful personalities which made my time there a very memorable time, I would recommend The Belgian Beer Cafe to anyone,
Thanks heaps guys I will be back.
Great food & service.
Wide range of Belgian beers
Good atmosphere outside on a sunny day
Will be back
Absolutely fantastic variety of European Ales. Something to suit every one. Definitely more on the pricer side, but that's expected. Perfect for an after dinner drink. The darker Ales and the sweeter touch Krieks were outstanding. The food was also fantastic, huge props go the chefs!
This this review is in response to the above reviews regarding the events on Saturday the 20th of November. The behaviour I witnessed was nothing short of animalistic! And these reviews do not reflect the service standard the BBC staff adhere to. Following the anti mask and vax protest my group and I dined at this establishment and witnessed nothing but repulsive behaviour towards staff members attempting to adhere to current government legislation. These staff members attempted to execute these standards in a calm and professional manner, only to be met with abuse, degradation and threats! I don't know who hurt you? But please channel your anger and find a creative outlet or see a psychologist because hurling threats and abuse at young service staff is not the correct way to behave on any occasion. Your stance is negated by the way you execute.
Kind regards
Annie
On Saturday a friend and I went to grab a bite to eat at the Belgian Beer Cafe.
A young blonde girl asked me to wear a mask to which I replied I have an exemption. She rudely said ‘well someone’s going to need to see that then’ and I said ‘who do I show it to, you? ’. I am not required to show her my exemption but I did anyway.
A series of events unfolded after that as we were finishing off our meals.
I noticed a family with young children sitting at a table outside having a beer as about 8 - 10 police officers walked into the business. Shortly after, some of the officers walked towards the family and I assume they asked them to leave and then they escorted them out. Customers of the business supported the family as they walked out.
Another table started asking why the family was being escorted out. The police responded with something along the lines of ‘a business can remove anyone they want’. Shortly after, the other table was asked to leave. They asked if they would be getting a refund as they had spent over $400 amongst them on food and drinks but the business seemed happy to take their money and kick them out too.
The table next to me said they weren’t going to come back to the Belgian Beer Cafe and neither will we after what we experienced there.
Discrimination at its finest!
Went for lunch with a group, food was 1st class, good service also. Lamb shoulder and the pots of muscles are all good choices.
Great bar with a fantastic beer garden. Try the Blue Moon on tap, it comes with a slice of orange!
There was a delay in getting our order however, a staff member named Ruby was amazing and sorted us out! This place is lucky to have her!
They've now adopted having QR Codes to make your order without going up to the counter and I am loving it, something more places should do so there's less waiting in line and more quality time with your friends
The Belgian is the place to be for a variety of different beers. They always surprise me with new beers added to the menu. Great service and great music
I thought it closes 2am on Fri. We went to at MN and their last drink order was 1230. So got another one. And then we were told to get out in 5 min at 1240. It was quite disappointing.
I haven't been there since 2016 due to my own personal circumstances but every staff member was wonderful and I have spent at least 8 hours or more on each occasion. The service, the beer, the food were all fantastic. I hope they still have the burger and Stella Artois deal as that burger was so good I went and thanked the chefs and repeated a phrase to them that Neil Patrick Harris said in an episode of How I Met Your Mother after he believed he had eaten the best burger in his life. I won't repeat it here, look it up. Sorry took so long for the review but life gets in the way and I can't believe its been nearly 5 years since I've experienced your burger and your wonderful hospitality. Take care in this strange age we are living in.
My partner and I stopped by here for a drink and some lunch. Their drinks menu have always been very impressive, you will without a doubt, be able to find a drink that you will enjoy there. We settled for a cocktail each and they were amazing. I would highly recommend the mussel pot that they offer for food. It was delicious and plenty enough to share. The staff are always friendly and very tentative to you. Highly recommend Belgium beer cafe for drinks and food.
