Belgian Beer Cafe Oostende reviews
73Love the old school classy feel. It's quite comfortable inside and the selection of beers is pretty good. It might need a coat of paint, and when they organise it I hope they keep the feeling of the place. It would be a shame if they went all super futuristic or changed the decor in some other equally jarring way.
Great environment to sit down outside and have a drink with some friends. The drinks menu was extensive and the cocktails were really good quality! The wait time for some of our drinks we a bit long but can’t complain because they were busy.
Beer is great, that’s about it.
Isabel was a terrible waiter, forcing us to pay for food when a table was booked and refusing to give our deposit back if we didn’t order any food. When the table was booked, mandatory food orders weren’t mentioned.
I've been here twice in the last week and it has been my best experience foodwise in Adelaide thus far that wasn't a haute cuisine place. The range of Belgian (and Dutch) beers is excellent plus the burgers and mussels are just unpretentious and superb. I can recommend the bitterballen as well, it's the real deal.
Always a great place to pop into for a beer and a meal, great selection of traditional recipes.
Great beer, atmosphere and food. Would be 5 star but for the variable service which can be awesome or awful.
Belgian beer cafe was buzzing. Very noisy but that could of been because of the comedians that they were hosting. The drinks were nice and cold the food looked really good. Service was quite prompt considering the amount of people. Did not see any sanitiser available for use.
Great venue with amazing service! I visited last Friday night and the place was full of atmosphere!
Live music, European feel and fantastic beers on tap. I love the Leffe Brune!
The mussels were a great choice on a winters night also. As Arnold says ‘I’ll be back’ ;)
Belgian, but not quite. Worth the experience just to get your hands on some good biers, if they have them in stock. The food is also good with healthy portions. It does get busy, and when it does, expect to wait a while for food.
This is a great place, with a warm and inviting environment that has great quality Beer and a great selection to choose from. Tucked away in a cosy little area behind Rundle street, you can't go wrong coming here for a cheeky beer or two or a lovely meal, a place I would always recommend visiting if you're new to Adelaide or a regular that likes to visit "historic" places within our city and feel some nostalgia whilst doing so. BBCO, I will be back again soon and next time for your famous hot chips in a cone alongside a delicious, cold stein of beer. Cheers
Waited a long time for our meal.
The place wasn't very busy.
The food was mediocre. Chips not hot.
Good environment and service. Delicious food and Belgian drinks. Only one problem that you need to wait a long time for the food and drink.
Food OK! Certainly could be better.not that busy but took ages to get food.had a good atmosphere and looked good but Certainly need to step up service
Overly expensive, slow service, said someone was in front of me so they served them then proceeded to ignore me for 5 minutes while serving everyone else who came after.
Had dinner there last night, food was good, waiting staff were good too. One issue, having live entertainment and normal sound system competing at the same time not so good.
A but expensive, but they have an absolutely amazing selection of beers from around the world. Food is really good but they can be a bit slow when they get busy. I'd recommend trying the Belle-vue cherry beer, its amazing.
If you like to try different beers, this a place for your palate. Not just Belgian beer, local craft beers as well. Not cheap.
Meals are delicious
The food is impressive! It's apparent that care has gone into the meals. All our meals were enjoyed! Waitresses are attentive and professional.
Glad to of found a great spot.
Was overcharge for our drinks, when questioned staff they gave a refund only because I pushed the matter, good beer, average pub food, but biggest problem staff and service. This seems to be an ongoing issue.
We have always walk past the Belgian Beer Cafe during the Fringe but it was always to busy. Thought we would give it a go today and was unfortunately not impressed. Order drinks and kids meal burger. Waited 20min for drinks and was told it was standing at the bar. My daughter ate the burger and i had the last bit. Immediately tested the meat was not all that fresh. My daughter started having very bad stomach pains later. Sure this is a great place overall but unfortunately we will give it a miss next time.
