Auchendarroch House

We enjoyed a family luncheon today with 9 family members in total. However we missed out on our pre luncheon 3 plates of garlic bread to share. Cost of $27
We received one plate of garlic bread after waiting 15mns but waited & waited, at least another 15mns before we asked what happened to our order. They apologised but it was still at least another 15 mns before the next 2 plates arrived & just before our main courses were served. We understand that a mistake can be made but the time it took to correct this mistake is not acceptable, 45 mns to receive garlic bread? The main meals were acceptable but l have one question. Why serve 5 potatoes with a lovely piece of Salmon oh! Plus 3 thin small pieces of asparagus, not good enough

Went there last Saturday 2nd of December for lunch. Waited for a couple of minutes to be seen too for a table. Waiters and service staff pretty average. Didn't feel welcomed at all. Asked when delivering our garlic bread if we wanted a side plate. Well of course. The table water was terrible. Not even filtered. Straight out of the tap. Would I hurry back. Not in this lifetime. Overall, pretty much below average to what I expected from the Tavern.

I generally like having some meat in my beef schnitzel.

Response to the owner’s reply: I told the waiter collecting our plates. She said she will tell the chefs. As if they didn’t know what sort of meals they ship. Anyway… I didn’t waste time talking to someone higher up as I don’t plan to have that experience again. I suppose staff passed it along. If not, bad communication and/or process on the floor is not my problem.

Also, asking a question in a reply to a review, where people don’t have a direct way to give you the answer, is slightly annoying.

Loved the layout. Being hearing challenged background noise made conversation difficult.
Service was prompt and efficient.

The staff are very welcoming and the menu had plenty to choose from. Service was excellent.

The dining area has a wonderful ambience. Relaxing for the time I was waiting for another event.

Stopped here to view the property and gardens which were beautiful. Well maintained area that you're free to wander. Ample carparking nearby. Close to many facilities. Lots of greenery.

Went to the Oak & Iron for the first time tonight.

Friendly and engaging staff and great spaces for a meal.

We started with the Mezze Tasting board which turned out to be a great option.

Lots of options for a diverse group.

Good selection of wines and coffee was great too

Terrible experience. Spent the whole night trying to swat flys off our table and food in the dining room. The kitchen was full of flys. I spoke to management about it and I was advised that there was nothing they could do. Spent over $150 for an hour and a half of flys all over us. This place is run by pigs.
Pathetic and disgusting.thanks for ruining our night out.

Great food and friendly experience staff great place for a wedding and the barr smith room was terrific place to be married in and the gardens beautiful for the photos

Meal was OK steak was shewy for a medium plus in the pokies area WHY DO YOU NOT GO ROUND OFFERING DRINK give the feeling of lack of security are care of you patrons

Went for the outdoor cinema with wife and son, via the gold pass. Overall a really good experience. Not sure if the kitchen was backed up for pizzas, but ours took longer than we expected to arrive. Bean bags chairs were good for all three of us.

Very accommodating for bringing your own picnic hampers and the like, and also had drink vans on site (as well as access to the main bar with gold pass).

Son loved it, we will definitely do again. This is a family affair, those without kids will have to watch for what's playing

Beautiful heritage building great example of historic architecture in Mount Barker. Food is ok. Pizza quite nice.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in Mums gorgeous 90th from Auchendarroch House.
Everything was just exquisite, the room, the most beautiful food, the service just the best experience ever, a fantastic overall experience

I love this place for how lovely inside it is. The staff are generally very good. Unfortunately food is very hit and miss. I've never had an awful meal but have had quite a few mediocre ones.

Staff friendly, service is lacking "bit slow" when clearing your table.staff seem to be just walking around, no staff structure to who does what.pizza was not that nice seem to be made on a pre purchase pizza from the shops eg mccain's frozen pizza.gnocchi carbonara was a delight.overall was a nice night and dinner

One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. A lovely open and modern space to share a meal with friends. We will definitely return for pizza again

Incredible food and service. Favourite place for celebrations and important events. Cannot recommend Auchendarroch more. A must-visit in anyone's itinerary.

Service good. Atmosphere good Enviorment very clean.
Disapointed in meal.there was enough grease and oil on the kilpatrick schnitzel and salad and to do a service on the Holden. Like eating a bottle of BBQ sauce. The sidewood sparkling was so young it took the plaque of my teeth. We had booked the table for ANZAC

I was truly impressed with the Staf taking time to stop and talk to a lady having Xmas lunch bye herself how thoughtful. (very made it very special for the lady) well done to the Staf.
