Arkaba Hotel reviews
64Was down from sydney for work. Very convenient and located very well especially for someone like myself that does not know the area as foodlands (Adelaides version of a supermarket) was located across the road, bottleshop, a woolies. They offer 2 bars, one with a restaurant, one for the pokies, outdoor seated smoking area. Breakfast also provided, $18 for continental breaky plus bacon and eggs on toast. My room was clean and provided clean toilet, shower space. Walls very thin so could hear next room but no real problem. I found the nightshift employees a tad more helpful and friendlier but no complaints.
Stayed at the arkaba for a conference and tea. Conference facilities were professional and supplied tea coffee and lunch were all well catered and excellent. Dinner was a set menu with two choices of each course (3). All dishes were absolutely fantastic and brilliantly presented. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Stayed in a ground floor room and it was quiet, comfortable and very dark. Beds were excellent and very comfortable. Highly recommend it.
I have stayed here again for another conference a year later. Everything above is still true, excellent venue.
Stayed top floor this time and it was an excellent room and lovely view.
Food was alright and service ok, had to move out of the sports bar even though a ton of sports were on. Lots of potential.
First visit during the evening from ~8pm. Friendly staff and great bartender work. Came in for a drink and late dinner, where I had the pasta of the day which was excellent and filling.
Great atmosphere and definitely a great place for nighttime food and drinks with family or some mates.
Nice lay out with a relaxing vibe i also like how the gaming venue is spacious compared to other venues it was a nice change from my local ones.
Stayed there for 5 nights during Christmas/New Year season (2018-19) on their lofty spa suit with a beautiful view of Adelaide Hills! Very friendly staffs, ample free onsite parking, Good Breakfast (pay additionally), wonderful bistro sports bar (one of the top ones I visited) with big wall mounted TV's, quite dining area, dazzling casino! Really liked the place. Surely will stay there, if I visit again! Highly recommended!
I know the saying you get what you pay for, but as we found our room we noticed most doors had a new security pad but ours didn’t. Maybe we got one of the last rooms that had not been renovated?
The sleep overnight wasn’t great, lots of noise but we were on a low floor and it was Xmas night.
(Start of review before I rang hotel)
In the morning there was large motor noises, I know this was out of the hotels hands but phoned to find out what was going on as we had not slept.
Thinking they probably wouldn’t be able to do anything I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer service. She apologised for the lack of sleep and offered to move us for the rest of our stay.
What could have been a 2 star review with other complaints turned into a good experience. Customer service wins every time. Whoever helped us should be commended. Merry Xmas
This place is great, staff are really nice and friendly. The rooms are old, however they're decent, well kept and clean. I would highly recommend this place for food, drinks and also hotel stay.
Went there for the Quizmister Grand Final. Good night. We had to line up for about 35 minutes just to place the order for our meals. One ordered the meals came out in a reasonable timeframe and we very nice. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Place hasn't changed that much since we use to go there as teenagers 35+ years ago.
The upstairs function hall was spacious and easy to navigate despite over 200 attendees. Issues with EFTPOS equipment meant a more than hour long line to order food, but after the delay in ordering the food was good quality and delivered quickly.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Good specials but other menu prices on the slightly higher than average price for what is basically a pub venue. However; drinks were good value so it sort of evens out. Service was great. Didnt wait long for our food and it was good tasty fare. This hotel has a lovely relaxing feel. Have yet to use the accommodation.
Had a meal at this hotel at lunchtime.
HUGE MISTAKE.
My father ordered pork belly which arrived very quickly
But unfortunately his meal was not fit for human consumption.
I have never seen pork belly served in reconstituted cubes.
In other words it was minced then made into squares of very dry meat.
It was unedable.
My meal was Chicken schnitzel with Diane sauce.
It could have been anything and the Diane sauce was Gravox.
The potato wedges were cold on bottom and some still frozen.
When I explained how bad this meal was we were offered a voucher lol.
Pretty poor form.
Anyways dont normally do this but this meal was so bad I had to say something.
My father literally choked on his "so called " pork belly.
Like I said never seen pork belly served in hard dry minced cubes before.
BAD food fast service, pleasant staff.
Only giving 1 star because I have to
To post this.
The locals tell me some interesting lore about this place. I found the rooms clean and well appointed. I would stay again. There is a convenient bottle shop in the building and a Woolies located within a 2 minute walk. It is quite busy on the weekends and had a lot of live entertainment and shows.
Very clean and modern. Beds were somewhat comfortable. Menu options were great and fairly priced. Overall, a good stay but nothing spectacular.
The room was amazing. The food was great. The staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again!
Great place to smash froffies. Not quite as good as the GE but runs a close second when it comes to smashing froffies.
Neat, clean rooms, very spacious. Plenty of power points around the room and next to the bed. Not the most modern hotel, but comfortable bed and controls to the lights and tv easily accessible from bed. Old school shower with plenty of pressure. Ample free parking available.
There is always so much to do at the Arkaba: Live Music; Comedy at the Top of the Ark; Premier League in Sporty's Bar; plus so much more! Quality food, cosy dining area, friendly staff, and the beer garden is great place to catch up with mates.
Food and services was quite good but the coffee wasn't very nice. I don't know if the machine hadnt been cleaned or if they needed to change the beans but it had a really bad taste to it.
Gin night was fantastic! Approx 45 different gins from about 15 different South Australian companies.
